    State of the Author

So a lot of folks have noticed I haven’t been as active on FimFic lately. The enforced hiatus from COVID and the world going into lockdown kind of threw off my writing groove, and when I started getting back into writing I found that the projects I was interested in lived outside the fandom space. I think it’s probably something that was building up for a while before lockdown, anyone who’s

To tide you over, here are a few preview pictures Comma sent my way from the test prints:

Love the typography on that last page.

Wait, the Freeport Venture is set in the Winningverse? :applejackconfused:

Is that water stain or some kind cloudy picture?

Oh my Celestia, I love that last page. :rainbowlaugh:

3732389 I think it's her cutie mark.

When will be able to order a copy?

Oh god, Pinkie's taken over the typography of the page.:rainbowlaugh:

Oh Pinkie.

Wow. That is some House of Leaves-level reality warping from Pinkie. I'm impressed.

3732409 nooooooooooooooooo

JMP

3732388 It's a kind of "blink and you miss it" thing, but the stories reference the ancient Pegasus clans, and the Doos have a clan hold in modern Freeport. Kukri and her changeling family are part of the Doo Clan, similar to the Kicker Clan back in Canterlot.

That Pinkie text formatting is perfect.

I missed it too. Still super bummed... :fluttershysad:

That last page makes me wonder...

Considering that "A New Life" is taking place post-Tirek in Winningverse time, which is relatively close to actual canon time, I'd be curious to hear Cloud Kicker's take on "Too Many Pinkie Pies."

Ooh, this is handy. Thanks for sharing!

3732543 I mean, I knew concepts like 'cold iron' were consistent in both, but that was also referred to in the Phoenix Empire as was having Lyra as an agent to the crown. I just assumed that was a Chengar thing.

Yeah, though there's not likely to be too much overlap. One or two little bits of the print version of Winning Pony were actually tweaked to line up better with Freeport Venture. We also might see a familiar-ish face show up at some point in New Life.

Oh no, I had wanted to get in on this but never heard about it. Will there ever be another printing?

3734418
If enough people want one, yes.

3734529

Well, you've got three already! :derpytongue2:
Now, to get another 50 or so to make it worth it...

"Here?" :pinkiehappy:

Seeing pictures of an actual physical book makes me want to buy this more than any other fanfic-as-book project that I've seen before. Which doesn't make much logical sense, since it's not like I have a bunch of shelves completely stuffed with not-free-but-physical books or anything. >_<

Dang. If I had been faster I could have intercepted the books at the shipping center! They are probably somewhere else by now.

Anyway, I'd certainly be interested in another printing. Just not anytime soon. Next year sometime would be perfect for my budget.

Hey, out of curiosity, how many were printed? I got my copy and think it's very well done!
