    State of the Author

So a lot of folks have noticed I haven’t been as active on FimFic lately. The enforced hiatus from COVID and the world going into lockdown kind of threw off my writing groove, and when I started getting back into writing I found that the projects I was interested in lived outside the fandom space. I think it’s probably something that was building up for a while before lockdown, anyone who’s

Winning Pony Print Edition - That's a wrap! (For now.) · 6:49am Mar 4th, 2016

Hey everyone!

Comma-Kazie here, borrowing Chengar’s blog again for another update on the print version of Winning Pony.

First of all: wow. Just wow. 108 orders. Here’s a big thank-you to everyone who made this happen—ever since Chengar laid down the first chapter of Winning Pony, it’s been our goal to put it to print, and we could not have done that without you. This is a big milestone, and it’s only the first of many.

Seriously, thank you.

Second, I had previously mentioned that I had ordered spare books in case of loss or damage, and that those who missed the ordering deadline might be able to get one of them once everything was said and done, provided we actually had spares left over. Needless to say, I got a lot of requests for the spares, and I had to make the list of reserve copies a first-come, first-serve basis. If you didn’t get a PM from me by this point, then unfortunately, the spares are gone.

However, all hope isn’t lost. I do intend to do at least one more print run, and those of you who were on the short-list for spare copies will be at the top of the list for the next run. That will take a little bit of time, though; we have a few other projects that I’d like to make some headway on, and I have some IRL stuff coming up that I need to deal with—and besides which, after organizing, printing, and shipping everyone’s books, I am tapped out for a while.

This would normally be the part where I flee to a distant beach to bask in the sun with a silly-looking drink in hand, but alas, redheads and natural light don’t mix all that well. Still, I’ll let you know when we’re ready to do another run.

alas, redheads and natural light don’t mix all that well

The most natural light is that which reflects off the pages of a book.

I am currently 2/3 of the way through Book One right now, and to all those who want a copy but were unable to get their name in on time, I HIGHLY recommend watching closely for the 2nd printing to be announced. I have found the quality to be as good as, if not exceeding, what the major publishing houses put out. I am EXTREMELY satisfied.

On a side note, I noticed that there seem to be differences between the online version and the book version. One difference is chapter names. The other difference seems to be an extra chapter in the book version.

Will the online version be changed to match the book version?

"Only the first milestone of many"? Prepare for years upon years of Kickers and awesomeness!

That's on the to-do list. We were just waiting for all the folks who ordered the books to get them first. And of course, I'm a bit lazy about doing editing when I could be writing new stuff instead.

I'll echo this sentiment. I got my books last Thursday and will probably finish them today or tomorrow. The story's that good! The fic has probably been on my to read list since forever and I'm glad the books finally gave me an excuse to read it. The books themselves are well made and the covers are absolutely gorgeous. Also, yay for Garamond!

I'd suggest packing the next set of books a bit better. Maybe use some bubble wrap. The crumpled paper wasn't enough to stop the books from taking a few hits and some of the corners are slightly dented, though not so much that it really bothers me. It might be that international shipping is more stressful.

Damn, sorry about that! I'll definitely add more padding next time.

Last time I heard of a second printing it was Fallout: Equestria.

There will be plenty who will benefit from such

Cool, I know I've been enjoying the books since I got them. It's amusing to see the little changes from the online version.

I'll look forward to it! Hopefully the second printing won't happen two months after I have a surprise budget disruption.

I look forward to it. Thank you Comma-Kazie for pointing me to this blog.

Your story sounds really good :)

What is the best way to get notified when the second printing starts? Keep checking fimfiction every so often?

I found out about the first printing after it was done through this facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1713772432192186/

Ooh, there's a handy group.

What is the best way to get notified when the second printing starts? Keep checking fimfiction every so often?

Pretty much--Chengar's blog is going to be the news source for any and all print updates. Although now that I know about that Facebook group, I'll repost any relevant blogs to it.

Is it possible to already register for the second printing? I missed the first one and would love to make sure to not miss the second one.

Hell, I would even pay for it right now.

3793630

Not yet, unfortunately. I have to place the orders in bulk, as individual printing is hellishly expensive.

Keep an eye on Chengar's blog, and we'll keep you up to date with any and all new plans.

3793763

Oki, I will do my best. Hope I will not miss it this time.

3793775

I'm keeping a list of everyone that missed the first print run, so when the time comes, I'll reach out to them via PM to make sure they know what's what.

Are there any plans to print The Lunar Rebellion?

3797634

Eventually! I'm not sure about the timing just yet, though, but I will say that another run of Winning Pony will happen first.

Hello, Can you guys clear some details for me? Since I missed the print, I can't check these on my own.

What is the last chapter of book/volume #1 ? Or the first chapter of book/volume #2. I mean the midpoint of the two prints.
How much does each volume weight?
The amount of pages each volume has? Printed pages or physical pages times two.
The dimensions of the physical book? w x t.
And if you don't mind revealing the company that printed the books?

Thank you.
