Synopsis:

Intrigue at the highest levels of Freeport? Now that should be interesting. Sunset's rise to archon has to begin somewhere, and after Tears in the Rain, it's clear that a confrontation with some of the nastier elements of the Council will have to be a part of that.

Looks more like a langes messer or falchion to me. Way too straight to be a katana, especially since the very slight curve is probably more from perspective than an actually curved blade.
Guess it'll be time for Sunset to use Chainbreaker again. After Northern Venture and the Puzzle story, we knew Sunset would clash with the Council but I didn't expect it so soon.

I think it might actually loosely biased on a Tuareg saber, a type of sword from north Africa.

Fun fact! Messers (and the two-handed Grosse Messer) were designed to technically fit the definitions of Knives (exposed tang in the hilt, single edge), because the German Citizenry were banned from carrying swords.
Thus why they translate to "Knife" and "Big Knife", respectively.
