You know he's doing a good job because it's a lot cheaper to pay him to dick around and wreck things while keeping tabs on Purple than it is to let Purple do her own thing.
The crown can't afford the hazard pay to have someone who doesn't break things living with Purple. Mostly because Anon is cheap and lacks self preservation. Also, he doesn't understand how their money works, so he doesn't realize he's getting underpaid. Or that he's getting paid.

It'll be great when he knuckles under and does his taxes, and it turns out the withholdings on the pay he didn't know he was getting were too high so they wind up just cutting him him a check. Nobody tells him he's got a savings account with direct deposit set up, so he assumes it's negative horse taxes.
