This story is a sequel to Not That, Twilight!

The Princess of The Sun may be loved and respected, but that doesn't mean she was treated as equal amongst ponykind. Every year when Hearts Warming Eve arrives, all Celestia can do is watch ponies laugh, exchange gifts, build snow ponies, and sing carols together from her window. She wishes she can join them, but ponies will likely get all awkward if she came by just to say hello. She gets only one present from Cadence.

This year though, her student changed things a lot.

Three villains are hanging out. They argue with each other, they mock each other's defeats, and they talk badly about their nemesis. Then Discord appears in the scene and blows away the villains' peace.

Oh, Discord, you troll.

The time has come for Celestia to have a one-to-one lesson with her personal protege, Twilight Sparkle. She is, no doubt, a bright young unicorn and it doesn't take her long to understand the overall concept of the teleportation and transfiguration spell. That is not to say the lesson went perfectly well as Twilight's magic takes a haywire spin and does things unimaginable coming from a foal.

King Sombra has taken over the Crystal Empire. All hope seems to be lost yet Twilight Sparkle still never gives up. She comes up with another way to win over the king. This process, however, doesn't involve rainbow lasers or being sent far away.

The time has come. I am to go soon. However, just before I leave, there is a pony who desires to speak with me. We share a few words and she begins to cry. I tell her what is the point if I'm only a pony in the background? Apparently, to her it's so much more than just that.

As a princess and a hero, Twilight's responsible for keeping Equestria safe. She must also complete her duties alongside the other princesses. Ponies don't see it, but the weight of the crown is more than they think. It carries so much. Especially since she's an alicorn, she wonders about her future.

Out in the rain, she discusses this with a secret aquaintance.

It's Cozy Glow's birthday! While her mother, Chrysalis, gets her ready, her father, Tirek, and uncle, Sombra, prepare the party.

What a great day it would be for the villains!

Twilight messes up badly while the rehearsal wedding was happening. So badly, her brother, her best friends, and most of all, her mentor leave her.

And Twilight is devastated.

Blinded by heartbreak, shock, and even anger, Twilight wonders if the ponies she thought cared about her really do care about her. Luckily, before she could slip, a friend arrives and gives her a little help.

Chrysalis is minding her own peaceful business. That is until Discord shows up and as he does, her peace is nothing but a memory.

And on a side note, Chrysalis really hates Discord.

Twilight is super smart. She can answer any math question. And she likes doing them right. So, she feels particularly annoyed when somepony else is making jokes about that. Especially when it is her brother.
