To say Twilight is a gifted unicorn would be grossly selling her short. She is, without a doubt, one of the most intellectual ponies of her day in the fields of magic, but for all her knowledge she knows little about technology, dismissing most of it as novelties. As far as she's concerned, there isn't much magic can't do. Needless to say when a strange inventor begins to showcase his peculiar machines, claiming that anything magic can do, he can replicate with one mechanism or another Twilight begins to feel threatened, confused, and eventually very resentful of this newcomer.

I like it so far. I really like the personality that you gave Hugo, and I'm interested to see ow he'll pan out as a character. I would really like it if, even though he's in the role that is typically the "bad Guy" in these sort of stories, he's really not, and is just perceived as one by Twilight, because she feels threatened and whatnot. Anyway, I'm anticipating the next chapter.
