Poor Company

The Great and Powerful Trixie. Just who is she and what's her motivation? There's the simple view: she's just selfish and a great boaster, but there has to be more to it.

Her time and failure in Ponyville, was it planned? Or just a huge bust?

We may never know, but here we shall explore one possibility that may have driven her to her ultimate downfall.

This . . . this interests me. I'm always curious to see alternate takes on Trixie, and this certainly qualifies.

I shall watch and see where this goes.

Following episode 100, Slice of Life, with the whole secret agency thing, I've kind of had an idea like this, just with Trixie having defeated some menace in the past even WORSE than an Ursa Major, but having to permanently sacrifice most of her magic to do it. It would make for a great tragedy to see a powerful mare who saved Equestria fall down on her luck.

Yeah, given what Trixie's about to do, Luna had better shelter her in the castle afterwards. For like five or ten years, while Trixie absorbs every inch of knowledge possible from the private repositories of knowledge (libraries). Maybe by then Trixie will be able to go out into public again. Or maybe just teach her how to break up nightmares so Trixie really doesn't ever have to leave the castle once her reputation is even further in tatters.

I do find Celestia a little bit out of character here, as it seems she's aware of Luna's plans and just goes along with it.
