All the main characters in G5 can compare to the Mane 6 in one way or another:
Sunny is well-studied and somewhat of a misfit just like Twilight Sparkle.
Hitch is honest and hardworking like Applejack, and has a strong connection to Animals just like Fluttershy.
Pipp is very popular and very fashionable just like Rarity.
Zipp is super smart and well-studied like Twilight, but also daring and Athletic like Rainbow Dash.
And of course, Izzy combines Pinkie Pie’s adorable sense of humor and bubbly personality, with Rarity’s artistic vision.
