I'm late to the party. Hope you saved some cupcakes.

Park Eun-sook has lost everything dear to her. Her home, her family, the life she'd always wanted. Now she is embittered, alone, and far too old to start again.

She's also too damn stubborn to die.

The road to Equestria is not always an easy one. There are obstacles, deterrents, strangers determined to stop anyone who dares choose Conversion. There are even those who would rather see you dead.

Park Eun-sook has always loved a challenge. But her greatest challenge may be to her deepest resolve, one she made when she lost everything.

Love no one.

That cover art was already something. Like last time it really shows what the characters are like through a good photo and good editing.

Her clothing was clean and crisp, and marked her as someone of some means. This attracted the attention of a few opportunists who thought to relieve the poor granny of her heavy burden, and possibly of those cumbersome clothes as well. Any who approached within a couple of meters received a sudden look from those black pearl eyes that made them reconsider their intentions and suddenly remember urgent business elsewhere.

I recall a certain Russian classic author being recorded to be like that as well...nearly everyone who visited him mentioned his power in his eyes that could see through a person despite his seemingly weak body. Who was it...Tolstoy, I think.

She had trained as a fighter from the age of three, the last in a long line of bodyguards, enforcers, and mercenaries. Her oma had often claimed direct matrilineal descent from the famous female palace guards of the Joseon dynasty, years before Confucianism swept down from China to force women into social subservience.

That's...quite the history, not just for her but for the entire country as well. Shows the rich culture behind the story, so good job on the knowledge.

Yup, she's a strong one, I like the way she rolls. I wonder what kind of different feelings will her point of view evoke, since she's already here with Tib.

She's still pretty stubborn and her protection of herself is very impressive. She's like a warrior under interrogation.

Also I'm suddenly reminded of how short she is. It's kind of hard to imagine but I suppose the spiciest peppers are also some of the smallest.

This "modern society" sure is a harsh one. Apparently love is kinda dead in the world and everyone who were left there are very, very numb. (really, so no people tried to revolt and cause chaos, try to be king in the apocalypse? Don't think that's likely.)
The difference between here and there will surely be mind-blowing for her.

On Friday the new pegasus trainees were taken to the roof to be put through their paces. Lilac dragged the others up there to witness Featherfall's first flight. wa Featherfall was as graceful in the air as on the ground, flitting among the winged ponies struggling to navigate the errant breezes with delicate finesse. She presented herself before her friends and did a perfect midair pirouette, followed by a graceful bow. Tib clapped, Chip stomped and whooped, and Lilac pranced with delight.

Nice stuff with the connection between former characters and stories. Also pretty sure there's an extra unnecessary "wa" in there.

And being too stubborn and tough to accept death is an interesting trait, even if it made her overlook the sickness she's been having. Very risky, yet admirable.

Well that second death here was once again avoided, and it seemed that Luna was interested in then more than what we had thought.
And she remembered all that again? I mean it was not really a surprise, just a bit confused at Luna's action here and the extra roles she played after the conversion. Nice to see the extra background. She knew that she had to stay for someone other than herself.

It's such a big world, and yet, it's a small world, too...Life goes on and on and on and on...

Eun-sook is easily the most complex character of my little herd. All the others are fairly easy to understand. Lac is enjoying the freedom of unencumbered interaction with the outside world after a lifetime of neurologically enforced isolation. Chip is living his dream of being a master chef and has found the loves of his life. Featherfall is dancing when she thought that ability forever lost, which has opened her heart to actually caring about others besides herself. (The potion might have facilitated that too. Who knows?) Even Mad igal is pretty simple to read: she loves to sing, she was horribly lonely, she longed for a family and she got all she ever wanted. Even Corey!

Eun-sook, on the other hand, is as intricate as a puzzle box, and just as hard to open. Even for me. A lot of her backstory sh only told me while I was actually writing the tale.

.This cover was the first I drew by hand. The only exterior element was the face of the Asian woman.

She is indeed quite spicy! That's part of her charm, I think.

The symptoms of an impending heart attack are something Eun-sook should have recognized. Her refusal to seek help almost killed her.

No. It did kill her.

Fortunately, she got better

No one knows that she ignored the clear warning signs. Otherwise she might have her ragin' Cajun granddaughter reading her the riot act.

Luna is a very free spirit. She is no longer a rebel; she is absolutely devoted to her sister Celestia and would never think of trying to take power from her again. Not only because Celestia could kick her flank, but because she loves her sister and is deeply ashamed of her betrayal all those centuries ago.

However. Luna also understands that Celestia is totally committed to being just. She establishes rules and she follows them, with no room for leeway or deviation from the path she has set for herself and the kingdom. In D&D terms, her alignment is Lawful good. She is a stickler for protocol and will not budge unless given very good reason to do so.

Luna is more flexible, somewhere around Neutral Good. She has both lawful and chaotic elements that balance her decisions. She doesn't much care for going behind her sister's back and will try to reason with her. Sometimes Celestia will just throw up her hooves and say "Oh, all right!" This not only resolves the dispute but absolves her of any blame for "bending" her own rules.

Luna held back some of Eun-sook's confirmation memories for many reasons, and I don't know all of them. Certainly she didn't want the new pony overwhelmed by the memory of dying. Most likely she intended to give the memory back once the new little unicorn got to Equestria...but then terrorism happened, and she restored the memory to give Harmony the strength to defy death again.

And no, she did not consult Celestia before doing any of this.

Sometimes it's easier to get forgiveness than permission.

Life goes on indeed, and our herd will be very happy in New Foaleans. Even the kids.

Silver Virtue, the first born, was named after the English translation of Eun-sook. It helped that he is actually almost silver in color, and has a strong sense of right and wrong.

Ginger Snap got her name because shortly after she was born she tried to bite Chip in order to protect Mama Lilac. "She snapped at me!" Her mane color inspired the "Ginger", of course. Lilac's naming propensity strikes again.

I do intend to follow our krewe to New Foaleans and continue their adventures. We may even have a sighting of the Mane Six in the future. After all, New Foaleans is a party town, and we all know who loves parties. :pinkiehappy:
