The Difference of Her Love

Chapter 2

Discord was sitting at his desk, drowning in work because his last secretary had quit this morning. She was a new hire that literally lasted 30 minutes. ‘That’s a new record’ Discord thought amusingly, when a beautiful woman walked into his office wearing the most fashion forward winter outfit he’d ever seen. “Um, I’m here to deliver my rent for next month” fluttershy said meekly. “Oh? Okay, let me see your check, and your ID so i can document it” Discord looks at fluttershy’s check, sees that it’s from a rental assistance place and has an idea. “I have a question for you. Obviously you’re clearly low on money as this is from All My Saints, and I can’t seem to keep a damn secretary to save my life, so what if you work for me as my secretary, and you can live here for free? I’ll compensate you handsomely.” Fluttershy said, ‘Um, you sure? You don’t have to pay my rent and compensate me.” So discord responded, “Okay, you play a hard bargain. How about this? 50% off rent and I pay you $26 an hour?” Fluttershy agreed to these terms, and said, “When do I start?”

“I’ll see you tomorrow morning at 8am”. Fluttershy walked out of the office, leaving discord alone with his thoughts. Why is it that I always push away the good ones? mused discord. “Is it the late hours? Is it that I put too much work on them?” Then Discord had a thought, a dangerous thought, and his smile widened like the cheshire cat. “Now I have someone who can’t quit because they need me for their rent.”

Fluttershy went back to her apartment, still in shock over what just happened. As soon as she stepped in the door to here apartment, she immediately called Twilight. Fluttershy laid down in her bed while the phone was ringing because her heart won’t stop hammering in her chest, until twilight finally picked up, the sounds of several beakers breaking on the way.

“Uh hello? Fluttershy? What’s going on?”

“I got a job as the secretary for the landlord.They offered to pay half my rent, and pay me 26 dollars an hour.” Fluttershy uttered. “I start tomorrow morning at eight in the morning.”

Twilight exclaimed, “Oh that’s awesome! Let's get the girls out to dinner to celebrate tonight! I’ll call the girls and coordinate a time. Does 6pm work for you?” Fluttershy sighed in relief before saying, “Yes, six pm is fine. I’m going to go get ready now.” Twilight hung up the phone to call everyone else. And then stuff happened.

Twilight walked into the apartment building and took the elevator to the 3rd floor, holding a dozen yellow dandelions in her right hand, and her phone in her left hand. She was talking to everyone in the group call, when she said, “Okay everyone! I’m almost there, so I gotta go!”, before hanging up and putting her phone in her lab coat pocket before knocking on the door.

Fluttershy timidly opened the door to an excited Twilight. She had a yellow oversized sweater on with a pink pencil skirt that stopped just above her knee“, some yellow strappy heels, and her turquoise butterlfy earrings and necklace. Her hair was curled slightly, framing nicely around her face, with a turpuoise butterfly clip to keep her tendrils away from her face. “Um, hello twilight. Are those for me?” she asked, tugging on her sweater sleeves anxiously. “Yes! I remembered that yellow dandelions are your favorite, and they’re supposed to signify a new chapter in your life. Now come on, let’s go! The rest of the group are already on their way to the restaurant.”
