Spike has confirmed Pinkie Pie's worst fears - all her 'friends' hate her. And since they hate her so much, she decides to pack up her kerchief and leave to spare them all the pain of seeing her every day.

| This is a 'what-if' fic based around 'Party of One'. While that means it's technically outside canon, I'll try my best to otherwise stick to canonicity. Think of it like a parallel universe, splitting from the main canon at the point of 'Party of One'.

Hiya everyone! I would very much appreciate any feedback you can give me, positive or negative - this being my first ponyfic and all. :twilightsheepish: (Heck, even if it weren't!)

Constructive would be most appreciated, of course - telling me it's bad without telling me how it's bad doesn't tell me how I can make it better, after all. :p But any old comment will do, I guess.

Cheers!

Heh! I really felt there was a missed opportunity for Spike's part in 'Party of One' - he doesn't really learn from his mistake, and indeed seems missing for the rest of the episode, meaning he doesn't get to redeem himself either. That was a concept I wanted to touch on (although not the main drive of the fic.)

And thanks! I really wanted to not only capture Spike's naivety, but also his intelligence - given time for the gears of his brain to whirl, he figures it out by himself (It's also a scenario a lot of us find ourselves in, if not quite so dramatically) - and his dedication to his new-found friends.

If I might use your comment as a launching point: Poor Pinkamina, on the other hand, is an interesting character because of how happy she is usually; I think the Rainboom inspired her to sweep all of her doubts and fears aside and just try to roll with everything, and the implications (and deconstruction) of that viewpoint is something I wanted to explore.

And as for thinking Pinkie, one of the major concerns I have is trying to balance her being gloomy while still keeping it somewhat in character for Pinkie - keeping some of that manic energy that we all love so much around, but lurking beneath the surface. It's good to see you think I've done an okay job at that!

(Me being slightly less than sane and more than a little weird helps with thinking PInkie as well. :pinkiehappy:)

3712015 Hiya, thanks for your interest!

I've been busy as of late, and while I've been trying to write when I can it's still a long time coming. But rest assured I have not given up on this story!

Oh. My. Goodness. I just found an ancient resurrected fanfic. I feel like I'm a part of pony history.

Yay an update im soooo happy plz update more its so good! :pinkiehappy:

3857670 "Ancient"? It's only been, like, a year! Sheesh! :twilightsheepish:

3860326 Thanks for you enthusiasm! That said, I don't want to rush things because it might mean the story comes out worse for it. It'll update when it updates, kay?

I was going through some old fanfictions I had favorited a long time ago and came across this one again! I'm a bit sad that you haven't updated in so long, however, I understand how sometimes interest can be lost and writing blocks can pop out of nowhere. I hope you're doing well and I'm glad I was able to re-read this.
