Kydra opened her eyes. She looked around the tent. Blue Fang wasnât in the tent. Maybe he went to the lake. Kydra stretched. Time to get to work. She crawled out of her tent. Still no Blue Fang. Where is he? Kydra thought. She sighed. She grabbed two cups and walked towards the lake. She filled the two cups with water. She walked back to the camp. She set up a small campfire. She grabbed a cup of coffee mix. She poured the coffee mix into the two cups. She boiled the water and stirred the water until it turned into coffee. Not as good as the real stuff, but better than nothing. She took a sip of coffee, âahh.â She looked around, âBlue! Blue!â
Nothing.
Kydra began to get worried. Blue wouldnât leave her. Right? She used Instinct. Maybe she could see Blue's green outline. But alas, she didnât see him. Maybe heâs just getting food. She took another sip of her coffee. Then she heard a faint rustling from the bushes. She switched her Instinct back on. A familiar Changeling outline was in her sight. She smiled, but then it dropped. It was Blue Fang, but he was covered in claw and bite marks. He was limping towards Kydra. She quickly threw her coffee to the side. âBlue! Blue Fang! What happened?!â
Blue Fang was simply muttering, âI took the shot. I took the shot. I took the shotâŠâ over and over.
âWhat does that mean?!â Kydra asked.
He continued muttering the phrase. Kydra shook him around. Then he muttered one thing different, âI made Broken⊠W-Wing pr-proud.â Then he collapsed.
âBlue!â Kydra quickly shook her friend, âWake up!â She wasnât sure if he passed out from exhaustion or blood loss. She put her head to his chest. It was faint, but his heart was still pumping. She sighed. One less thing to worry about. She went back to the tent and grabbed a bed and some first aid equipment. She grabbed her friend, âdonât worry. Iâll get you home.â
The sounds of birds tweeting caught Blue Fangs attention. Wha- where am I? He looked around. Oh yeah. Camp. He sat up.
âWell, look whoâs up.â
He looked over his shoulder, âhey Ky.â He looked around, âwhat happened?â
âYou walked out of those bushes and were mumbling âI took the shotâ and then you collapsed.â
Blue! Blue take the shot! Blue Fang shook the thought from his head. âYou alright?â Kydra asked.
âWha- oh, uh, itâs nothing.â
âAre you sure?â Blue Fang nodded. âYou wanna talk about it?â He shook her head. She walked over to Blue Fang, âyou can tell me.â He shook his head again, âit might make you feel better.â
He looked down to the campfire. There was no escaping Kydraâs questions. âSigh when I was younger, Broken took me out to the EverfreeâŠ
~~~
âWhere are we going?â Blue Fang asked.
Brokenwing looked at his brother, âIâm taking you out here so we can get you ready to fight in the Devil Horns.â
âOh. But are you sure we should be out in the Everfree?â
âOf course.â
The two brothers walked through the forest. Blue Fang looked around the forest. It felt weird, like someone was watching them.
âStop!â Brokenwing said.
âWhat? What!â
âYou hear that?â
There wasnât a sound. Blue Fang couldnât use Instinct, so he couldnât see what Brokenwing heard or saw. âFocus.â
Blue Fang held his breath, then closed his eyes. He listened for any sound.
Pat.
Pat.
Pat.
What was that? It sounded like a shovel hitting the dirt.
Pat! Pat! Pat!
Pat! Pat! Pat!
Pat! Pat! Pat!
Whatever it was, it was getting fast! What the buck?
âGet back Blue!â
Blue Fang was tackled by his brother. He looked up. A large shadow lept from the bushes. Brokenwing shot a beam at the creature. The shadow dodged it and charged Brokenwing. The wolf pinned Brokenwing down. âBlue! Shoot it!â
Blue Fang got up. His mind was racing. His adrenaline was practically rushing through him like riptide. His body didnât know what to do.
âBlue! Blue take the shot!â
âIâm trying! Iâm trying!â He couldnât charge his magic. He silently begged his horn to shoot.
Brokenwing grabbed a nearby rock and smashed it over the wolfâs head. The wooded wolf disintegrated in dark smoke. Brokewing got up and dusted himself off. He looked at Blue Fang. âYou alright?â
âIâm sorry Broken, I- I donât know what-â
âListen good Blue.â Blue Fang looked at his brother. He bowed his head in shame. He was ready for the berating his brother had in store. âItâs only natural to be scared.â He walked past Blue Fang. âWe need to head home baby brother.â He started walking in the direction of the Hive. Blue Fang noticed he was walking funny. Almost as if he was limping. Then Brokenwing fell onto his knees.
âBroken!â Blue Fang called. He ran over to his brother. Brokenwing took a breath before collapsing. Blue Fang dropped to the ground, âBroken?â He shook his brother, âBroken? Wake up!â
Growl
Blue Fang looked over his shoulder. Two Timberwolves stepped out from the bushes. Then another. And another. And another. Blue Fang nuzzled Brokenwings body. âPlease Broken. Wake up.â
The Timberwolves charged the two. Blue Fang nuzzled Brokenwings body. He closed his eyes.
Roar!
âBroken!â
Zap! Zap!
Blue Fang looked up. âYour Majesty!â She stepped in front of the two. She shot two more beams at the creatures. They growled at the regal Changeling before retreating into the forest. Many more Changelings stepped out of the shrubbery.
Chrysalis walked over to the two brothers. âYou. Little. Coward.â She walked to the two Changelings. She kneeled down to the two brothers. âThatâs what the old Queen used to call me. Then I proved her wrong, by taking the throne.â She stroked Blue Fangs wings. âNow youâre my son Blue Fang, and I would never call you anything but your name but you gotta tell me something. Are you gonna lay there and swallow the blood in your mouth. Or are you going to get up, spit it out, and go spill theirs?â
~~~
âIâve never been the same ever since.â
Kydra looked at the Changeling.
âThose words stuck with me ever since. I swore I would never let Broken down again.â He put his hooves to his face.
âYou alright?â
He dropped hooves, âyeah. I just⊠wish I couldâve done something⊠but I just sat there and watched.â
He started to pout a bit. Kydra moved beside him. She noticed a small tear running down his face. She hugged him. âItâs okay to cry, Blue. Just let it out.â
Blue Fang didnât know what to do. He put his head to her chest. He started to let the tears fall. âThere you are Blue. Let it all out.â She stroked the crying Changelings wings.
âWhyâd I just sit there? Whyâd I just sit there? Whyâd I just sit thereâŠâ
âBlue, it wasnât your fault.â
âBut it was. I had the chance to shoot! I shouldnât have had a problem shooting the wolf. But I just sat there.â
âIt was just fear, Blue. You didnât have the ability to shoot. It was an accident, Blue. And Iâm sure Brokens already forgiven you.â
âReally?â
âYeah, Iâm sure of it.â Kydra felt one of the Changelings' tears fall onto her hoof. She looked at the tear, which was red. âBlue, let me see your eye.â He stared at her. âAh, Blue your eye scar opened up. Hold up.â She reached over to a couple leaves. She changed into a spider and pulled some silk.
âWhat are you doing, Ky?â
âHold on.â She poked two holes into the edge of the leaf, then she knitted the silk through the holes, âhere.â She put the eyepatch over Blue Fangs eye.
Blue Fang walked over to the lake to get a look at himself. âI look ridiculous Ky,â he said looking at his eyepatch, âHow long do I have to wear this?â
âUntil that scar heals.â She walked over to him. How he got the scare was a question sheâd asked herself for a long time. Now, she could ask him about it. âHowâd you get it anyway?â
He looked to the lake. âRemember Longstrike?â
âHow could I forget?â She said, shuddering.
âYeah. After the bell tower collapsed, a bit of shrapnel hit my eye.â
âOh. Iâm sorry Blue.â
âWasnât your fault.â
Kydra got up. âWe should probably move back to camp tomorrow.â She said, looking at the sky.
âAlright, Iâll meet you in the tent in a bit.â
âAlright.â
~~~
Kydra laid in the tent. Where is he? She looked at the tent entrance. Donât tell me he leftâŠ
Blue Fang thankfully walked into the tent. She sighed with relief. âHey Ky.â
âHey Blue.â
âHey Ky.â He slid into the sleeping bag. He closed his eyes. âPlease donât dream⊠please donât dream⊠please donâtâŠâ
âBlue? Youâre, uh?â
âOh. Sorry⊠I uh.â
She hugged him, âitâs okay Blue.â
He smiled a bit. âThanks Ky.â
The two friends held each other in an embrace. âHey Ky?â
âYeah?â
âDo⊠do you think death is scary?â
Kydra looked at him, âlook at it like binoculars. Look at it through the right side, and itâs close. Look at it through the wrong side, and itâs really far away.â
âDid you just quoteâŠâ
She started laughing, âyeah, I did.â
âWise words I guess.â
Kydra smiled. Blue Fang smiled back. âBlue?â
âYeah?â
âDo you know about the Changeling who led Wonderbolt to safety?â
âYeah. Why?â
She seemed to get a bit nervous. âWell what if I were to tell you that I was the Changeling who led Wonderbolt to safety.â
âOf course you were.â
âWhat do you mean?â
âWell, youâre a light hearted Changeling. Itâs almost law that you would do something like that.â
She blushed, âth-thanks Blue.â
âNo problem.â
The two friends held each other in silence. Kydra looked at Blue Fang, âyouâre still awake? Arenât you?â
âYeahâŠâ he looked at her. âIâm scared of that dreamâŠâ
âThen donât worry about it.â She hugged him, âjust, donât worry about it.â
âThanks Ky.â
~~~
Luna looked from her balcony. Her night shift was beginning. So far everypony was having great dreams. Then two dreams caught her attention. âHmm.â
âWhatâs wrong sister?â Celestia said.
âNothing,â Luna replied, looking from her balcony. She smiled, âit seems two creatures are having very good dreams.â
âReally? Who?â
Luna smiled again, âtwo very special Changelings.â
I like it. Keep up the good work. But... what was the binoculars referencing?
Looks like the âtake the shotâ thing makes sense now. Poor Blue...
10140907
It was a reference to this story
10140909
Yeah... somethings stay with you to the grave.
10140911
Ah. Didn't recognize it at first. Sorry.
10140922
Youâre alright.
10144105
Imaging the repair bills
10144121
Heh.
Man that is amazing work you done with the songs
please make one with the the coat of arms if possible!
10146216
Alright.
10147822
so why he dont know it was a beserker mode his body is able to keep up that makes sense
10147838
He doesnât know because he loses all self control. Itâs like whole ânother side to him.
10147846
ah lol thats defo a skill to learn to control once he does that he can flip it on and off at will
10147905
But that would take away from the vicious factor of it.
10147915
not really not having control or even a little of it could make him a liability in combat as he he could become feral and go after anyone near him even a basic development to it could help him identifi his friends and unit from foes
10147920
I mean, he can tell who it is heâs attacking, he just canât control on how he attacks.
10147924
see thats a controlled beaserker little more to it abd boom he can be just as visicious and brutal but with tactical planning behind his strikes to incapacitate or kill a opponet quickly
10147929
I guess so
10147934
sorry just ive had ideas for beaseeker type characters before so i put alot of tgought ibto the training behind them
10147951
Itâs okay.
10147953
still bluefang sounds like hes got the potential to be a huge badass or a killing machine
10147962
Maybe he is one.
10147965
is it bad i honestly wanna have a no holds bar noncon fight against him just to see who would win would be a intersting fic
10147969
Does sound a bit interesting.
10147972
but would need a non bias ref for it lol and rules on abilities
10147983
Eh.
10147987
like whats ok not ok or would you prefer no holds bard anything goes arena match
10147990
Yeah, thatâs fair
10147991
so wich one rules or all out to the limit wkth the only rules id put on myself no instant win moves and no regenerating all the time at most saved for broken limbs not small bruises and its not instant
10148005
I guess all out.
10148009
k but im still follwing my no instant win moves and no instant healing rule lol so how shpuld we host it on here or where
10148013
I might have a bar fight in one of the chapters actually.
10148019
is that a invite to a barfight
10148023
What do you mean?
10148024
just felt like ryming lol
10148029
Fair enough.
10148030
thpugh let me know when you got a setting set up and we can work on dialouge for it then do the hassle of finding a third party to judge a winner
10148032
Sure.
10148035
sweet wait weapons or no weapons?
10148039
I mean, chairs and bottles exist.
10148040
ok none of reds custom weapns wait would freezing the lquid in a bottle to make a club count as one?
10148044
I guess not. I mean nobody said we couldnât use magic.
10148045
i ment do you think blue could handle a guy with a blade that changes shape claws made of shadows or a giant stone axe
otherwise its impromptu weaponry around him
10148052
If you take Blueâs rage away, heâs just an average soldiers. Even with Rage, he probably wouldnât be able to face off a godlike figure.
10148055
hence me limting red to no powers barring extream need of healing (aka internal bleeding heals first) other then that hes a normal pegasues with a few tricks up his sleeves
10148057
Eh. Unless heâs trained for normal fist-to-fist combat, Blue might be able to hold him off. Maybe not kill him, but probably have a better chance of survival.
10148060
hes a ex merc has fought wars im going base red for this so he has no acess to the fighting styles or experiance his demons have and even in his long life hes spent most lf it being a hermit or odd job pony
10148064
Alright.
10148065
oh and having to knock out and kill the ocassinal demon assassin and demon hunters
10148071
Eh. I guess thatâs fair
