Sequels1

This story is a sequel to My Little Universe: Season 5

Well everypony, time for the Crystal Gems and Mane Six's reprise. The Cluster, Malachite, the trio of problematic serpents, my goodness did they had plenty to deal with but with all that passed, and Lapis and Jasper returning once more, it's time for them to kick back and relax. ...

Yeah, as if.
Months had passed since these events, and winter's nearing its latest years before spring. With so many problems handled the year prior, you'd think they would be given a break but boy you were wrong. One visit to their Homeworld revealed another group of Gems known as the Off-Colors, a group of strange, yet intriguing Gems made up of defects, fusions, and some interesting information on the Crystal Gem war. ...

Now they got two new tasks: finding a home for Off-colors, and to find the real answer to a century's old mystery. Relationships will be tested, rivals will return, all with a looming diamond shatterer elusive to their midst. Onward everypony!

Looking back at white Dimond's experiments kinda reminds me of shed 17. But for the story I love it can't wait to finish reading the next chapter and then wait for the next installment of my little universe.

8559259
Yeah I've heard about shed 17. An interesting connection I must say, glad you're enjoying it

8559457
Some advise if you decide to watch it. If you have seen Thomas the tank engine when you where a kid, prepare to have your childhood ruined.

This keeps getting better and better.

8559746
eh, I've already seen Tobius and the ghost of timophy, I'm sure Shed 17 wouldn't be too bad. Plus i'm an anime fan so I'm used to it.

8559849
And so the it begins :pinkiecrazy:

8560092
oh it is worse than the ghost of Timothy.

8560762
Just saw it ... eh, you're right. While it's a creepypasta concept that's overdone honestly, Though to be honest, the only part that got to me was at the end :twilightoops:. SCREAMO FOR DAYS, SERIOUSLY! The rest of it seemed pretty ... what's the word ... interesting? It mixes real world documentary with an actual personal story, not to mention the tie-in it did too with Henry.

8560779
I told you. Although Henry's face in that scene was sorta funny. But what they where doing to him was terrible. Speaking of funny what sir toppem hat said in Thomas' home video.

8561058
yelling at him to get off the tracks? Yeah, that was the funniest this got really. Just wish it didn't keep trying to jump you with jumpscares. Shocking, yes, but it's not too realistic with them as to how fast they did it (especially the first one). I probably would never know about this if you didn't tell me, could be ... interesting :raritywink:

8561075
I bet. But was actually talking about when sir toppem hat said", oy! Get off my f#%$in' platform!" I laughed my but off when I saw that part.

8561138
that's what I meant. Guess I worded it wrong. Anyway, hope you enjoy what's to come. I think this gave me a few ideas ...

Oh you're in trouble now. Cause now you get the claws of Eric the Looney, the most thorough reviewer on Fanfiction in the universe.

So, we begin with a time jump. One thing that I appreciate that you do that some people complain about is that with Steven as the anchor, there's a wonder if anything truly significant ever happens when Steven's not around. While this doesn't necessarily disprove this, it does show that just because we're not watching doesn't mean they weren't working. In this case, helping to rebuild after it's greatest challenge of being flooded out. And that's great.

And so Steven got Sadie her home back. (where were they staying in between though?) And following this, this again ties into things happening when you can't see. Since we know Lapis Lazili just got her head back on, it's good to see that even though she didn't say hi to Jamie afterwards, there was still clear reconnecting going on. And that's also good.

And that's when the new call to adventure began: An invitation from Blue Diamond to celebrate the rescue after all this time. Guess Blue was just too busy to make the invite earlier. Catching up on her lost paperwork and all that.

And speaking of things skipped but significant, Jasper's recovery. We're skipping over her obsession phase due to...timing and characterization, so right now, after several months of push-pull and rest, she's back and punching with her new bash buddy bismuth now.

And so, a small portion of the herd came to visit Blue Diamond and Blue pearl. Both very, very happy for their help in bringing them home. And yet, it is a diminished team. To the extreme. No Jade, Flint, Fulgurite, Jasper, Lapis, Star Quartz, Emerald, Kira (probably for the best), Spike or Pearl. Pearl I'm especially surprised by, but then again, she's only 2 for 3 in homeworld experiences.

And I smell a gun for the future! Something Blue and Something new. A gift of a diamond. But what? A Kindergarden Seed? A new Gem? A new weapon? A communications Tower? What could it be?

But it's also here that we see how the journey is far from over. They're either off for good, or they need to resolve the issue of Pink Diamond. And in time, Blue had to do the only thing she could at that moment: get them out of here. It was...a long and difficult run. With plenty of flashbacks to when they battled White back 2 seasons ago. Overwhelming forces bearing down on them and all that. But thankfully, they had the future lady, someone to help them move around, and be prepared for stops. Unfortunately, the moves eventually got them down in the depths, and that means they need to keep moving to get out the long way home. At least, going down and around bare minimum.

8566183
:twilightsmile: nice with the critique here. It's nice to see this kind of stuff

So we pick up with the crystal harmony gem ponies on the run still. The fliers playing safety railing, the rest just moving through the mega kindergarden.

But at a fork in the road, something unsettled Amethyst. And not in the same "I'm a worthless flawed Quartz who keeps falling behind" kind of way. But in an actual "Something actually freaked me out" kind of way. Which was definitely unnerving for everyone since Amethyst rarely gets spooked in that way...usually.

And indeed, they had to keep moving after the latest scare.

They weren't going to give the Carnethysts any chances. Even if they won, they had nowhere to go so what was the point of a fight without an escape? They all wert off from there and away from the cave.

(Typo) Not wert, but were.

I also like how despite this definitely being more of a SU story than an equestria story, you are trying to keep them included. Hence how the ponies help with jumping the gap just as much as the gems do.

And that's when the "special wing" of the Chrystal Gems finally made contact. Along with a new face too. Tiger's Eye who looks...interesting to say the least. Also, I didn't even know that was a gem type. Also, good to see that Garnet's not impenetrable with future vision and all that. Keeps her...flawed. 🥁

I also gave a light chuckle that you specifically brought Garnet along for this moment: meeting another fusion that's so much like herself in appearance.

Guess it would explain the more calmly features apart from a typical quartz Gem.

Do you mean her more feminine features? Rework or spell correct please.

Also, Diopside, really? You're surprised about a 6 gem fusion? Haven't you been part of a 10 gem fusion that time you fought for Homeworld 3 seasons ago? :ajbemused:

Then again, Florite seems pretty stable as a fusion. The super fusion the crystal gems created definitely would be able to sustain itself for very long. Too many individual personalities, not enough common bonds of love. Not enough desire to stay together overall.

And so, they were invited to become a part of the ever growing crystal family. A really big family now, with ponies, people, gems, homeworlders, exiles, royals, grunts, rebels. And now, the off colors. This is definitely going to be a big season. :rainbowdetermined2:

Just hope you don't get lost in the process.

8573091
appreciate the help here, I'll fix up those screw-ups right away.

So this chapter is a "setting the table" chapter, but I think for the sake of brevity, I think I'll want a refresher on some of this stuff.

For example, Pearl not seeing them? What? Did they hide the off colors in another spot and Pearl just never got around to meeting them?

The house had been a bit quiet for a while now since the others got back from Homeworld, yet they've been slightly pre-occupied with what the Off-Colors were up to.

back from Homeworld, BECAUSE, SINCE or a different word from YET. As it feels wrong.

And so, Pearl got a visit from Yellow and Blue Pearl. I'm..mildly surprised actually. I mean, Blue Diamond I can get. She loves her pearl, and is brimming with compassion, so she'd love for her pearl to try something new for a change. But Yellow? Why would she give up her most loyal servant to something as "frivilous" as vacation that neither of them really would be into?

And so it was that the 3 pearls went for a little stroll around town. It's also at this point that I think I can definitively say that even if yellow pearl isn't showing it as much, I think that Blue Pearl has evolved as a character. And a big part of that came about over the last season and a bit. Namely, Blue Pearl after all the backs and forths, her Diamond asserting her love for what would ordinarily be a disposable servant, losing her for a bit, finding out about the duping in the theft of Blue by the snakes (what were they anyways? Equestrian OC villains?), Blue coming back, and her helping the crystal elements of harmony escape from white diamond just recently, she feels...softer. meeker. Less sticklery and formal by comparison.

I mean, just look no further than the t shirt stuff. She's even into fashion at this point. Although, is that a Lapis shirt she's holding?

Also, that thing on jewelers! Great reaction there. :rainbowderp: "... That's sick," both Pearls said. :rainbowlaugh:

And when they found out how earth pearls are made. Considering what a neat freak the CG pearl is, if she ever believed the truth, she'd be horrified. :twilightoops:

As it is though, it was a nice bonding moment for the 3 pearls to share together. Also, doing a brief look over diamond coloring provides some...interesting commentary into diamond gradations and their abilities. Whites being utterly pure, yellow diamonds being dirty diamonds that are on the edge between being a rock and a mineral, blue diamonds rarity, and pink diamonds forming in extreme conditions. :rainbowhuh:

I wonder if there was ever a Red Diamond?

~~~~~~
Meanwhile, back with the others, I'm thinking that you seem to be implying (assuming I didn't miss it) that most of the gems these days stay around the HQ house these days. Cause they got space for ALL the off colors. Even the crazy big Florite.
Next, a quick character check. Namely, the Rutile/Fulgurite conversation. So, if I remember correctly, Fulgurite was trapped in a geode by the diamonds after she rebelled, and she has the electric powers as well as super speed. But....what is the story behind her stone being in 2 WITHOUT being shattered? I don't discount the possibility of having a gem on a knee, but how did she survive something like that?
On that note, I still would love for that great WMG to happen eventually from TVtropes. That one day Padparadscha is going to make a prediction that just happened, but instead see a unique dimension like..."Oh no! Pearl is lying to us!!" or something like that.
And then there was the next meeting about the "Diamond Attack". So, let me make sure we have everyone accounted for in this dialog: Garnet, Amythyst, Peridot, Jasper, Flint, Jade, Fulgurite, Diopside, Bismuth, Star Quartz, Jade and Connie spoke in the chapter.
But let me do a quick head check just to be sure I haven't missed anyone: Emerald, Blue, the ruby squad (what happened to those guys?), pearl and Lapis Lazli are the ones not there.....right? Or did I forget something there with the first 3?
"Most of the Gems
, whichever
side fought, didn't make it. Cut this word and the commas. They're unneeded. involved in the war, didn't see the end like she did.
Also, to improve your writing, don't try summing up your last few paragraphs in another paragraph. We're smart enough readers to follow the line of logic the characters have.
And on that final note, Best of luck. Something tells me we're going to commit to something VERY new in this turn of events.
I'll say a lot more later on, but first obvious question: Are those creatures from an actual mythology, or just from stories created later on?
Also, it's interesting to think of Connie II as kinda like Samurai Jack or Cheese Sandwich. Just a wandering do gooder trying to find her place in the universe in the process. It also probably made her a whole lot more self reliant than Connie, and possibly even a hair braver. I can see though that she still has that hint of mischief too though. I suppose the more I think about it, the more I think she's kinda like a more permanent version of the Room Connie.
I'm guessing that Rhodonite's going to be split up in the future as well. Because once we see the 2 sides talking to each other, a defusion is almost inevitable. At least they're starting to feel more comfortable after years of being told they were oddball nothings.
I also noticed that Padparadscha finally got a good use in. Stopping Florite in order to help a stuck pony. Guess her hindsight is already finding some application!
Actually though, the "hiding themselves" doesn't make any sense. How could Connie I do the magic demonstrations that Connie II has acquired? That doesn't make any sense.
Like I said, expect more in the near future.
8592760
*applause* very nice look for Tiger's Eye. Matches up to her very nicely, I have to say :pinkiehappy:
8593270
Due note Connie I had a wand in hand as Connie II could use magic with just her fingertips. A little thing called "acting" can get you far in life. Like lipsinking, but with magic :raritywink:
As for the mythical creatures, they're just animals from D&D I tried to work in. I mean, look at what variety there is, it's impossible to leave it alone for too long :twilightblush:.
8593569
Thanks! Will you use her in future covers?
8594059
I made other Off Colors. You think you could introduce them in later chapters as Off Colors who heard about the ones living in the barn and decide to escape to Earth?
8594373
Hmm ... Well let me see what you have in a private message and we'll see
"Eh, I'm good, I had three bottles of cooking oil earlier," Amethyst said, followed by a burp, which came with some purple fire. no one got burnt, but it was comedic if anything.
Sorry still cant stop laughing. :rainbowlaugh:
... I honestly forgot about Andy DeMayo... until I read the word 'hippie' being said by one of the characters here...
Great chapter as always. It has been a while since we have seen Star Quarts and now introducing Andy DeMayo to the mix! As always keep up the outstanding work!
8610115
8610220
8610231
glad everyone's having a good time with this chapter
Okay it's official. Star Quartz is the Luna Lovegood of the Equestrian Crystal Gems.
8613491
took the time to look her up, and I have to agree x3
8620575
Well, for starters: Pearl's involvement with the other pearls started before the Off-Colors officially arrived, so the start of it didn't show them actually coming in yet, so that would explain why she wasn't in the know.
Secondly: Yellow Pearl never said Yellow Diamond's decision was her own, only Blue diamond said that. Think of it like a strong suggestion.
Third: ... yes, lapis lover shirt for sale x3
fourth: The ruby squad aren't Crystal Gems, so they wouldn't just pop up there like that.
As for any questions I mean to miss ... i'm not saying anything :derpytongue2:
...believe it or not that movie is what had me even think about looking at mlp in the first place.
8621016
You don't say? Discord got me into checking the show out myself x3
8621068
...well that movie and a youtuber who... has not put out a video in a long time :( he was the main reason I got into it. If you want to look up what he did that got me into the show, look up Link Hyrule Assassin on YouTube or Google.
8621071
I'll give him a look when I get a chance
8621111
K, just a head's up though, his videos are not for those below 18 years...
OMGOMGOMG! I love how you brought Tiger's Eye in. I think my cousin will like it too, her favorite gems are the off colors, so she'll be excited! Can't wait to read the rest!:pinkiehappy:
Yesssssss!!!!!! Thank you!!! I was hoping you were gonna continue through season 5. I do love it when the Crystal Gems work on the Mane 6's problems. Need more chapters like these. Keep up the amazing work!!
Also, side note.
Yay, Luna-senpai!!!!!!
8659637
8659640
Glad you enjoy it ^^ as I said, it's an older callback to earlier chapters of the series
Well done, another successful chapter. But...
Meanwhile, the conductor for the train kept the whole thing moving right on schedule. Tracks all cleared up, and the conductor and firemare were actually relaxing. The conductor kept his eyes on the tracks ahead, as the firemare rested on a nearby chair.
Being a train enthusiest, I feel like i should clear this up. A conductor is in charge of the train, a fireman (or firemare) shovels coal into the fire box, ,and the driver drives the train. But all in all, great chapter.
8661768
thanks for making that clear to me. I tried looking it up best I could, guess it slipped by me
Oh, and also, seems there's someone else on the move. Someone who doesn't like the spotlight even less than White Diamond or Sombra or the Snake Trio Did. Someone content to observe and plan. Watching Connie II's tale, and planning their next move.
That Story Lapis told, you got from the Thomas episode "Granpuff" didn't you.
