“Actually, I did receive some info from a worker at Kuat.” said General Madine who was on his datapad the whole time. “I believe Walex, you are familiar with an engineer named Ansel Hsiao? Goes by the name Fractalsponge sometimes.”
“Where are my manners. My name’s Rahm Kota, the officer in the back is General Madine, the boy in black is Commander Skywalker, the girl next to him is General Organa, and the man leaning on the wall is-”
“General Quinlan Vos, at your service.” The man said waving his hand.
That's a high-profile group if there ever was one.
Loving this story. The way you have portrayed all of the star wars characters and the imperials is great. I would have thought that this is an official piece of work.
Remember, this is only in the event the Emperor has died.
Suuuuuuuure.
The Commando pointed at a ventilation shaft high up on the wall of the room. “Has anyone checked there yet?” The Commando asked.
"Well, then find them quickly! Or my boot will be going up your ventilation shaft!"
“AT-ST stepped on the droid dammit.”
What are the odds?!
“Guess the Empire actually did something right don’t you agree?”
Yikes. Gerrera really is the 'Friend Nobody Likes'. To be honest, I have a plan to make Iden Versio that in my own Star Wars spin off. I don't quite know how to pull it off though.
Thrawn stood in front of a mirror in his bathroom. His face soaking wet and wearing only his underpants, the Chiss has been staring at his face for the past several minutes.
And at least eighty fans squeal like tea-kettles!
General Kota ordered them to not be harmed.
Oh hell no!
“This is for Mandalore.” The Warden said. He swung his baton, but his hand was caught by Spike’s claws.
Ya' should'na dun dat!
“General Quinlan Vos, at your service.” The man said waving his hand.
Bigger and better with each cameo!
muttered Noirah Na, a Jedi Padawan.
Is it wrong to feel smug for knowing all these characters?
“I just got a report. Thrawn, his fleet is coming here!”
Liking this more and more, keep it up.
To be honest, I have a theory. Lucas never wanted the Empire to be liked. Why would he? He modelled them off Nazis and made them bamboozled at just about everything (It's hard to know for sure, he flip-flops a lot) Expanded Universe is famous for remedying that in various ways, Thrawn being the most prominent. But that wasn't always the case. Just like Clan Markona and Iden Versio, there are plenty of instances where Rebel-aligned OCs easily outwit the Imperials, whether they're gadgetty whiz-kids or tribal chiefs but it's always been a thing with Star Wars just as it is now. The popularity of the Empire was a happy accident and it's unlikely to be dwelled upon by the official works. That's for the side-stuff that'll hopefully come in after the trilogy wraps up as it did for the original.
Overall, surprisingly, I think Disney's done more to humanise (No pun intended) and develop the Empire in their side-stuff (Though Thrawn is, again, the most prominent example) than the original but they've still a long way to go before they really hit the mark. I'm giving them time. That being said I do like the Rebels but both Legends and Canon fall to the mistake of making too OP, thus making the 'plucky underdog' role redundant. Even the best of us make mistakes.
9517308 Trust me, there will be more Jedi who survived Order 66 and after. Dark Jedi as well. Still doing research and I was disappointed when I found out Vader killed Hudorra. I was gonna have a trifecta of Jedi Elders with Rahm Kota, Das Jennir, and Kai Hudorra.
As for Dark Jedi, I already have a list of OCs. Still debating on what to do with Galen Marek, the hardest one to think of without making him OP and without disappointing people.
Yes the EU and DU had mistakes. What I was most disappointed on is Disney has all these resources and haven’t done anything that wowed me in the sense of impact on the universe. Thrawn was a pleasent surprise, but became a disappointment when he didn’t do anything that screamed “Thrawn” and he didn’t leave a huge impact on the galaxy.
They can easily make true Imperial-centric stories in video games and standalone movies but refuse to do so in order to make the good guys (Rebels) win every single time. I’m still holding on to hope. We don’t know their plans after IX. IX is the end of the “Skywalker Saga” but I have no doubt they’ll make more standalones after.
Here’s a suggestion: hire people like Martin Scorsese or Timothy Zahn to write stories for games and movies. Hire people who aren’t afraid to show the viewpoint of the otherside.
9517365 Or maybe setting it around the Empire era. They have over 15,000 years to work with, and centuries afterward, they don't need to focus in that century? For instance, they could explore Bioware's Old Republic era and focus on some very different stories we've seen from so far. Mainly two equal military forces duking it out, instead of one slated to lose day one. As well, and my favorite, on stories where the Sith and Jedi worked together and was close to peace until radicals on both sides destroy it to restart the war. That would be interesting and very different from what seems to be a rehash of the same god damn era.
9629515 When I feel like it. My other story I write more because I have more liberties and it calms my nerves. I posted in a blog long ago how restricted you are writing a crossover.
I already have all the plans laid out for the next chapter, but my mind hasn’t left the other story for a while.
So I dont know if this was ever actually addressed but how big is Spike and is he fully grown? I know that the story is 'Anthro' but canonically as far as I can tell dragon hatchlings start out bipedal and at some point transition to a more quadripedal form as they age. Is Spike and the other dragons for that matter also affected by the anthro tag or are they 'natural'. I dont recall any real mentions of other dragons except for Embee in the opening chapter and am curious as to if Spike could become a full adult (size wise) I think it would both be bad ass as well as add some cool situations with even twilight able to trigger/set off a greed growth to get some extra fire power.
9642404 Sorry if this came out of left field, but I was reading another star wars crossover fiction where Spike was sent to the jedi order in the timeline of the old republic. I think it was called 'The Dragon of the Force' but I cant quite remember. It wasn't tagged as anthro since spike as a hatchling was already bipedal and the written made references in the story on how big spike would be if he was fully grown. Statements along the lines of "If I was a adult I'd barely be able to fit in the jedi temple entrence" he also put in stuff saying he could alter his size to a bit smaller if he liked with a mix of force and magic. I just thought of asking you because the way that story set up a full grown dragon in my mind made me think of Spike firebombing and tackling enemy ships in atmosphere and I thought it was cool. Sorry
9642494 Thanks for answering my questions! Again I apologize if it was random and kinda out of nowhere but I sometimes come up with things in my head that I think are cool and such. I'd try writing myself but know I'm not quite skilled enough:/
I've been rereading your story, but I'm only at chapter 3 atm and was wondering if you ever mentioned in the story how strong spike is. I know you had a character comment saying a Wookie could RIP his arms off and that he eventually spars with Thrawn bit I dont remember if you mentioned his strength. Sorry for all the random questions I keep throwing at you. Sorry if I'm bugging you too much I'll keep quiet from now on.
The Rebel commanders watched on uncomfortably as many of them were unfamiliar with the way of the jedi.
Yes, it's hard for Rebels to understand the "shut up and learn" approach. Just as the Jedi philosophy of not murdering or torturing everyone they come across is a foreign concept to the Rebels.
At first, he was disappointed that they couldn’t nab Grand Admiral Thrawn
I get the feeling that if they were to have an honest debate with Thrawn, they'd end up joining him, lol.
You’re advocating for rapid change, demilitarization, but you don’t know what’s coming the moment you topple the Empire.
Not that it would matter. The Republic at its least corrupt made the most corrupt Imperials look like saints. Then there's the de-militarization. If the Clones hadn't been made, the CIS would've walked all over the Republic. Worse, the people of the CIS were arrogant, selfish assholes who thought the Republic somehow "owed" them and was "oppressing" them or whatever (with what, I dunno, seeing as the Republic had no way to oppress anyone in the first place). So, they would've basically enslaved the rest of the galaxy and hurt and murdered for fun (they used WMD attacks frequently during the Clone Wars basically for shits and giggles).
and kota shows the ignorance of the jedi, in the end the jedi had become corrupted in there own way, the light had corrupted them and there over dedication too it. the force did need balancing yes, but part of that was balancing the jedi as well.
May it be Jedi or Sith, plz somebody give those two, badass lightsabers.
YAY! fractalsponge name drop!
Don't trust jedi, NEVER trust mothma
I though I had finished it and was wondering when the next chapter would come out and low and behold it comes today.
Oh boy this is gonna be good next chapter.
Hope to see Twilight and Spike whit Scar Squad kick some Rebel scum.
That's a high-profile group if there ever was one.
Good job on another chapter! Still following and liked.
It just gets better and better! Ah this story is amazing!
I hope they won't join the rebels.
Loving this story. The way you have portrayed all of the star wars characters and the imperials is great. I would have thought that this is an official piece of work.
Looking forward to the next chapter
god i can't wait for trawn and the squad to come to save them.... and plz let them not turn rebels that would suck.

What? Ya'll thought I was EA and Disney or something? Hell nah, I fucking hated discount Battlefront II's campaign.

LOL, you win, best comment hands down XD
I get that reference!

Fair enough.
Yeah, Hudorra was cool.
Why not an ancestor of the Rasi Tuums? Or Tra Saa?
Or better still, my all-time favourite Order 66 Survivor, K'Kruhk!
And for the Dark Jedi, a quarren? Like Azard and Maleval?
Yeah, give it time. I sincerely doubt we've seen the last of Thrawn.

Yeehaaaw do more please an
any idea when we can expect an update and new chapter?

I was thinking a little shorter than Zuke but he’s still growing

Nah I don’t really like the idea of him growing that big. More into the, taller and bigger than the normal Human just like Zuke is.

I mean, he did pick up a Mandalorian Commando with one hand.
But yeah, I haven’t truly displayed his strength yet.
