Chapter 2: Contact

Ponyville

Twilight was preparing to start a stargazing session with Starlight, she had about an hour left before the stars were at their brightest, and Twilight was determined have everything done before then. She started to extend the telescope and place it on its stand, after she was done she started testing the telescope to get the perfect position. That was when one large triangle followed by twenty one smaller triangles appeared in a flash of light. Twilight estimated that the triangles in the sky where about 9 thousand miles away and that the largest triangle was about ten miles long, she could hardly believe her eyes, and Princess Luna had not stated that she would add anything to the night sky.

"Spike," called out Twilight

"Yea, what do you need," Spike replied

"I need you to write a letter to Princess Luna," said Twilight.

"Ok," replied a frustrated Spike

As Spike got a roll of parchment paper and a pen, then Twilight started orally stating what she wanted written on the letter

Here is what the letter entailed.

Dear Princess Luna,

I would like to inform you that I have discovered several unidentified objects in your night sky, there were actually twenty two of these objects in the sky and they are huge the largest of these objects is about ten miles long. Do you have any know how about the Origin of these objects, if you do please tell me, as I am very interested with this topic? These objects were discovered when I was adjusting my telescope to stargaze with my friend Starlight. I am afraid of what these objects could mean to the safety of Equestria, and our planet Equis. If you need me to come to canterlot with the rest of my friends please contact me.

Canterlot Castle

Luna had just awaken thirty minutes ago and was was preparing to go dream walking. Or that was what she should have been doing, instead she was playing her favorite video game Call of Duty. All of a sudden there was a bright flash appear right in front of her causing Luna to lose concentration and get shot down by the enemy team.

"Darn it what the f#%$, what the f#%$ was that, s%#*!" Luna thought to herself as she picked up the letter.

Thoughts raced through here mind as she read the letter, she needed to tell her sister about this. Luna bolted out of the room straddling the guards protecting her room, by the time they had realized what was going on she was well away from them. The guards started pursuing the Princess as she ran for the throne room, the guards at the door let Luna through but Celestia was nowhere to be seen. She then ran towards her sister's room, as she was running she set her sights on one of the hundreds of windows that adorned the castle. A massive meteor shower could be seen, hundreds of objects were striking through the Equestrian sky.

Orbit around Equis

The Empire had been in search of a planet full of resources to supply the imperial army for at least ten years. Many expeditions were made to find such planet but, non were successful, or that was when a refortified Gozanti-class Carrier was sent out to a planter recently discovered by satellites in Kamino. The carrier had jumped into hyperspace and reached the planet, the planet was named by imperial scientists as Celest 2 and its home star Celest not only was this planet discovered to have enough resources to last the Empire ten years but, it could supply the Empire for a total of forty to fifty years. Now under the command of Grand Admiral Thrawn the Empire will take control of the planet.

"Sir we have now deployed 349 probe droids as of thirty seconds ago do you wish to continue deploying more probe droids," said Lieutenant Leopold.

"I believe that that is enough for now, also may you have some of these droids scan for any evidence of civilization on the planet I would like to visit the natives and study there forms of art," replied Thrawn.

"Yes sir, I will contact you if there are any intelligent life forms on this planet. I can also get a shuttle prepared for you and contact you when it's ready,"said Leopold.

"That won't be necessary lieutenant," said Thrawn.

With that Thrawn left the bridge and was walking back to his quarters.

Canterlot Castle

Celestia was at her room when Luna burst through her bedroom door panting, several royal guards had also flowed Luna to Celestia's room.

"What's wrong?"asked Celestia.

"We are big trouble tia, look out your window, a massive meteor shower is taking place, not only that, but Princes Twilight has also sent me a letter about strange objects in the sk..," was all Luna could say before a massive explosion cut her off.

BOOM, a massive shock wave rippled across Celestia's bedroom, knocking Celestia, Luna and the royal guards off their hooves. Both Princesses got up and looked out the open bedroom door to see the hallway leading up to the bedroom totally in ruins. The floor downstairs could be seen because of the explosion then the two sisters noticed a black object with things that could be assumed as legs or arms protruding from the body of the object, which was somewhat shaped as a squashed up sphere. The object started to move and make strange noise, so Celestia's assumed it was a living creature and tried to greet the strange object, little did she know that this was actually an imperial probe droid.

"Hello, can you hear me?"asked Celestia in almost a whisper.

Then BOOM, the probe droid had proceeded to commence a self destruct sequence, and it had exploded. Celestia was thrown back due to the shockwave that the explosion emitted. The floor around the Royal sisters and their guards started to crumble, Luna was able to teleport everypony out of the corridor before the floor collapsed.

“That was very close, don't you agree,”said Luna

“Yes very close indeed,”replied Celestia

A Royal Guard came running towards both Celestia and Luna.

“Princesses we must take you to safety,”said the Guard as he helped both Princess get up.

The guards took the princesses to the throne room where then Celestia’s horn started to get enveloped by a golden aura, then hologram of Grand Admiral Thrawn appeared in front of both Celestia and Luna. Celestia then started speaking to the hologram in front of her.

“Hello,”said Celestia.

“Ah, It seems that you can talk Galactic Standard,"replied The Grand Admiral.

"Actually I am speaking Equish,"replied Celestia.

"May I ask what is your name, and what is your position of power in this planet?"asked Thrawn.

"I am Princess Celestia one of the two diarchs of Equestria, I am also responsible for raising the sun and lowering the moon, my sister is responsible for raising the moon and lowering the sun,"said Celestia.

“I am Princess Luna and like my sister said I controll the moon and I am also responsible for guarding ponies from nightmares. Your name is?”said Luna.

“My name is Grand Admiral Thrawn,”replied Thrawn.

“Are you a military figure, and why are you here?”asked Celestia.

"I am a military officer, and I am here to negotiate the terms of your planet joining the Galactic Empire,"said Thrawn.

"Why would I want to join your so called Galactic Empire,"replied Celestia.

"Because we will give you the most advance technology in the galaxy and in return you will give us control of 95% of your planet's resources,"replied Thrawn.

"You will still have to convince the Griffons, the Dragons, the Yacks, the Hippogryphs, the Minotaurs, and the Zebras to join you if you want 95% of the planet's resources,"said Celestia.

"Well then how about 95% of your territory's resources,"said Thrawn.

"Why don't we continue negotiating the joining of your country to Galactic Empire on your planetary surface,"suggested Thrawn.

"That wouldn't be to bad, deal, you can come down to Equestria under the condition that you will not harm any of my subjects. Here in Canterlot we can negotiate Equestria joining your empire,"said Celestia.

"No harm will come to your subjects,"said Thrawn.

"What exactly are we looking at when we try to find Canterlot?"asked Thrawn.

"Canterlot is basically a castle sticking out of a mountain,"said Celestia.

"Well I believe that we got this all figured out,"said Thrawn before the hologram closed and the magical aura dispersed.

Celestia thought about the conversation she had with Thrawn, reviewing all that was said during that conversation before mentally planning out the letter she was going to write to Twilight. She then went back into her room and got a quill and a roll of parchment paper, and started writing the letter.

From the Desk of Her Royal Highness
Princess Celestia of The Kingdom of Equestria
Regnum solis
Ruler of the Kingdom of the Sun

Twelfth day of the first month
Four years After the Rule of Two

Dear Princess Twilight Sparkle,

I have heard that you have written a letter to my sister warning her of strange objects in the sky, this letter is to tell you the reason why these objects are here. About two hours ago you might of noticed that a massive meteor shower was taking place but, it was not a normal meteor shower, instead hundreds of robots were falling to the Equestrian surface to study our planet. One of these robots crashed into the hallway leading to my room, thankfully no one got hurt, later because of a holographic spell we came in contact with the owners of these robots and the objects in the sky. The objects in the sky are actually ships of the Galactic Empire, and they are interested in Equestria and the rest of our planet join their Empire. The leaders of 'this expedition to our planet are Grand Admiral Thrawn and they say that if we join their Empire they will give us the most advanced technology in the galaxy, in return we will let them have control of 95% of Equestria's resources. They have also asked us if they could come down to Equestria to negotiate a better deal for Equestria to join the Galactic Empire, I need you and your friends to go find the Elements of harmony if anything goes wrong.

Ponyville: 9:35 pm

Twilight was very nervous of what was to come of this so called Galactic Empire which Princess Celestia had told here about in a letter she had sent to Twilight seven minutes ago. Spike and Starlight were helping Twilight calm down, as she had started suffering from a major nervous breakdown. This was big, alien visitors had come to supposedly explore this planet.

"Spike can you go get the rest of the girls, I need to tell them something important,"asked Twilight.

"Yes Twilight I'll go get them,"replied Spike as he left to go get the rest of Twilight's friends

"Starlight, I need to tell you something about the letter the Princess sent me, and why we couldn't stargaze today, a few hours ago I was testing the new telescope I had purchased for this occasion but, that all got sidetracked when I discovered several strange objects in the sky, the letter the Princess sent me confirmed that these objects shouldn't be there, it also stated that these objects belong to an alien civilization much more advanced than us ponies. This is the why I am so nervous and why we couldn't go stargazing tonight, I'm sorry,"said Twilight.

"Twilight it's ok you didn't have to do this for me, and hopefully these aliens are probably friendly, if wouldn't they have already sucked our brains out,"replied Starlight, trying to calm Twilight.

Just then Rainbow Dash followed by the rest of the crew stormed into the room where the cutie map was located.

"We came in as fast as we could after spike here told us that you had something important to tell us,"said Applejack

"Yes darling, would you care to tell us what is wrong,"said Rarity.

"Today I have gotten a letter from the princess, it said that we are not alone,"said Twilight

"What does that mean,"said Rainbow Dash confused.

"It means that there are aliens out in the universe, and that now they are right at our door step. Their space ships are just above our sky looking down upon us, the princess also said that the wanted to come down to the ground to negotiate the terms of Equestria joining a so called Galactic Empire,"said Twilight.

"Well then why don't we kick some alien but!"exclaimed Rainbow Dash.

"That's the problem Rainbow, the Princess asked us not to and to just get the elements if something goes wrong,"replied Twilight.

"Well then what are we waiting for let's go and find them,"said Applejack.

"Yea,"said the rest of the girls.

Everypony had packed up their saddle bags, and were now walking through the Everfree Forest. They were trying to get to the Tree of Harmony, when a gray object streaked across the sky followed by several smaller and faster black objects.

"What in tarnation was that,"said Applejack.

Imperial Shuttle

Imperial pilots were now communicating with center base on the Super Star Destroyer, they had already received the brief mission discription of getting the Grand Admiral and the Admiral safely to a city known by the locals as Canterlot. They were now receiving the description of what the city looked like to then arrive at their designated destination, it would of been better to have the coordinates of the city location but, center base did not have access to that information.

"This is center base, your destination will be built on the side of a mountain, and the city has a large castle on the far west side of the city,"said an Imperial Crew Member.

Both Imperial Pilots looked out of the windows in the cockpit of the Imperial Shuttle and saw just that city. The city of Canterlot reminded one of the pilots about his homeworld of Naboo as Canterlot shared a trait that Naboo's capital of Theed had, majestic waterfalls. By the city of Canterlot they noticed a modestly sized town with a tree shaped crystal castle which they would soon find out that it is called ponyville and they noticed the city of Cloudsdale floating within the clouds and boasting several beautiful rainbow colored waterfalls. After several minutes of flying towards their destination they have reached it, soon the Imperial Shuttle started descending toward the Royal Canterlot Gardens.

"Well we're here, can you go and Inform the Grand Admiral and the Admiral that we have arrived,"said one of the Imperial Pilots

"Will do,"replied the other Imperial Pilot as he was leaving to inform the Grand Admiral and the Admiral that they had arrived.

In the main cabin of the Imperial Shuttle Grand Admiral Thrawn and Admiral Piet were talking about how to best undertake the negotiations with the Equines and insure that Equestria join the Empire, when the Imperial Pilot interrupted their conversation.

"We have arrived,"said the pilot.
