You can't run from the pink!

Twilight and Pinkie were the first to arrive at the library. While they were walking, or hopping in Pinkie's case, towards the giant tree, Pinkie had been asking every question she had. Even if it wasn't related to the human.

"... and that is how the dragons can breath fire" Twilight finished while she was entering the library with Pinkie, who had the usual grin in her face. They were sitting in the main room of the library while waiting for the others.

Rainbow Dash was the first to arrive at the meeting point, like most of the days, crashing through the window.

"Hello Pinkie Pie. Hello again Twilight" she greeted from the floor.

"Hello Dashie!" Pinkie responded. Twilight was about to greet the blue mare too, but she noticed the lack of orange that was supposed to be with her.

"Rainbow Dash," she started "where is Applejack? You were supposed to bring her here"

"Don't worry, I just left her behind after getting her". Twilight couldn't believe her friend's impatience.

"But Rainbow, Pinkie said that Fernando is here in Ponyville, who knows if she might have encountered him!" the purple mare told to the pegasus.

"What! The pest is here?" Rainbow asked "So that explains my sudden rage!" she exclaimed, confusing Twilight.

"Sudden rage? What are you talking about?" Twilight inquired

"While I was flying over the Apple's orchard, I suddenly felt a lot of rage, like after the human got away from me in Canterlot" Rainbow Dash said.

"Then we should go before he does something to Applejack!" said Pinkie Pie before the door opened to reveal Applejack, although a very pissed off one with some tree chips in her mane.

"Whoa, what happened to you?" asked Rainbow Dash. Applejack glared at her before responding

"The human, that's what. He got me stuck halfway through a tree and then escaped"

"Really, did he throw you at the tree?" asked Twilight remembering that until now, Fernando hasn't damaged directly anypony. Applejack sighed and said.

"No, he tricked me in jumping over his leg that he had stuck out, I then hit the tree"

"Did you see where he went? Rainbow Dash asked, readying herself to fly out to search for him

"Yeah, after he paid for the apple that he used for distraction, he came back here, but I think we need a full team to catch him"

"Wait, he paid for it?" asked Twilight

"Yeah. He didn't have a lot of bits with him, so I suppose that it was something that he found in the streets" responded Applejack

"That is certainly interesting" Twilight said to herself with a hoof under her chin "Well, we'll just wait for Fluttershy, Rarity and Spike" just then there was a knock on the door. Twilight went to open it and there was a very exhausted Fluttershy

"What is it with you and timing today?" Pinkie Pie asked to no one in particular.

"Human *breath* Boutique *breath* Rarity *breath* stopping him" Fluttershy said almost fainting. Everypony gasped and went directly to the Carrousel Boutique, hoping that it wasn't too late.

They arrived at the scene some minutes later. Spike hasn't done any progress trying to take Rarity with him when he noticed the others

"Where is the human, Spike? And why is Rarity unconscious?" asked Twilight

"The human went that way" he said pointing to the west "and Rarity is like this because the human threw a little garbage over her dress. I still don't understand how it was that bad, I mean, can't she wash it?" Spike asked, but noticed that nopony was paying him attention after the garbage part.

"Seven times, seven times that he gets away! I say that we knock him out next time that he is in our hoofs!" proposed Rainbow Dash.

"We can't do that, Rainbow, remember that we don't want him to fear us if we want him to cooperate" remembered Twilight as a response.

"Yeah, but a little bruises can't really be that bad, right?" Applejack commented, happy at the thought of a little pay back.

"I-I too don't want to hurt him" said Fluttershy quietly

"What do you think Rarity?" asked Twilight, before remembering that she is unconscious. "Can somepony please wake her up, please?" the unicorn asked

"Leave it to me" Rainbow Dash said. She cleared her throat and said next to Rarity "Oh, look. It's the Prince Blueblood!". This did it, because in less than a second Rarity was up and red from the fury.

"Where is that coward!? I'm gonna make him... regret... he is not here, right?" Rarity questioned and blushed when she got some four shakes of heads. "Spike, dear, could you be so kind as to tell me, what happened?" Spike found his chance and said

"After you fainted I went to protect you, but I couldn't stop the human in time, sorry." he said to her, using the advice that Fernando gave him. This touched the unicorn's heart and gave the dragon a kiss in the cheek

"Thank you, Spikey-Wikey" the dragon meanwhile, was out cold, like Rarity some seconds ago. "Hey, where is Pinkie Pie?" the white unicorn asked to the others. That is when everypony noticed the lack of pink in their lives at the moment

"Do you think that she went to catch the human by herself?" Twilight asked, while the others nodded yes to the question. Rarity, Applejack and Rainbow Dash had evil smiles at the same thought

"He won't get away from that pony", while Twilight, Fluttershy and Spike, who woke up at a magic shake from Twilight, were getting worried for the sanity of Fernando.

Fernando was in what his eyes could still tell him was a park.

"Well, this looks big enough for hiding" he thought as he made his way through the park. The moon was at last high in the sky, but the night was still going to last long.

He remembered that he still had the shining rocks, so he could try to use then to scare any pony that was out late. He walked some time until he found the perfect hiding spot. It was patch of ground surrounded by bushes that were high enough to hide him. He found it by mere luck when he tripped with a root.

He was about to drift off to sleep when he got the feeling of being watched. He rolled to find a more comfortable position when he was face to face with Pinkie Pie

"Boo!" she said. Fernando jumped from his position and was already running out of there. He turned to see if Pinkie had followed him and found nothing. He smiled while still getting his blood pressure to a normal state when he again got the same feeling. He turned his head and saw Pinkie Pie again. "You know, we never played hide and seek like all my other friends" she said with a smile. Fernando could only wonder how she had done that.

"Hey, uhm... Pinkie, I know that you want to take me to the princess, but I can't let any of you do that" he told to Pinkie

"And why can't you let us?" she asked

"Because my pride keeps me from doing so" he said before running from the pink menace.

He ran as fast as he could and before he noticed it, he was at the market district. He went to rest next to a stand that could hide him.

"You look tired. Here, have a carrot!" said someone from behind the counter. He gladly took the carrot and was about to bite it when he noticed something

"Who is giving away carrots in the middle of the night? he thought while turning and hoping that it was the Carrot Fairy.

"Hello again!" said Pinkie Pie with the mouth full of carrot. Fernando saw the situation and couldn't resist his chance. He took some bites from the carrot and said

"What's up, doc?" he said

"That's funny, I don't remember going to the medicine school" she said while going through her memories

"So what are you doing here at this hour?" Fernando asked

"Oh, I'm hunting humans, humans like you" Pinkie happily said

"But I'm not a human" he said

"You're not? I could swear that you were one" Pinkie said confused

"No, I'm a homo sapiens" Fernando told to the cotton maned pony

"Have you seen any humans here then? I'm just looking for one" she asked

"Mmm... that human has hair like this?" he asked while ruffling his hair

"Yes he does" Pinkie said with a grin

"Is he taller that the average pony?" he asked while pointing to the top of his head

"Yes, yes!" Pinkie was getting excited at knowing where the human was

"And has he tricked a lot of ponies including your friends and the princess?"

"Yeah, that is him!" Pinkie said

"I don't know him" he said disinterested while turning to leave

"Oh, okay. Have a nice night!" she said while she was walking to the other way. Fernando couldn't taste his victory when he bumped into something soft. When he looked down he saw Pinkie Pie.

"Hey, you know? My friends told me that this human was very tricky, and I think that it's you" she said with a frown that said 'no more games'

"Okay, you got me. Just before I go take off that fake bug on your back" he said

"Fake bug, what fake bug?" Pinkie said looking worried

"That one, the one that looks like it's about to bite you"

"What!? I got no fake bug! TAKEITOFFTAKEITOFFTAKEITOFFTAKEITOFF!" She yelled while running in circles. He meanwhile was already walking away, but when he couldn't hear Pinkie anymore, she popped up from a hollow tree that was next to him

"Hey, thanks for telling me about that parasprite!" Fernando only stared incredulously and finally asked

"How can you see through my tricks?" he asked her

"Oh, that is very simple actually, I just have to think outside the chimney!" She happily said. This set off the ultimate plan on Fernando's head. One that he wished he would never have to use: rhetoric.

"Hey Pinkie, I have a question for you" he said

"Shoot away" she responded, clearly ready.

"How would you think if you think outside a chimney that is inside another chimney?" he asked with a sly smile.

"Well, I would think inside the chimney!" she said

"But you are outside the chimney" I corrected her

"Then I'm thinking outside the chimney inside the chimney" Pinkie said, now a little unsure

"That is just repeating what I said" Fernando told her. At this, Pinkie just adopted the thinker pose on a nearby rock and muttered incoherences to herself. "Finally!" Fernando thought, and with that he got away from the random minded pony.

Fernando observed his surroundings after he considered he was safe at a safe distance from the pony. He was in what looked like a little forest with a river crossing it.

"I better keep on the move," he saw some planks near a finished bridge "And I think I know how". He went up to the bridge and took a plank and threw it at the river. He then jumped too and took the plank under his arms as a floater and he let the current do all the job.

Twilight and the others managed to catch up with Pinkie Pie, who was still thinking about the question asked by the human.

"Any luck Pinkie Pie?" asked Rainbow Dash eagerly, but Pinkie didn't look like she had heard her and asked

"How am I thinking if I think outside a chimney that is inside a chimney" when she heard this, Twilight got surprised

"He really used rhetoric as an escape method?" she sighed and commanded to Spike "Spike, take note"

"Ready!" he responded with a parchment and a quill that he took from his body pockets

"Dear Princess Celestia

Fernando proved to be a real challenge. He had fooled us all and I'm pretty sure he'll be doing it again the next time we meet him. We will need a lot of time before we can put him under your custody, and even then he will probably escape from wherever we put him. Now I ask you for advise. He hasn't shown any signs of hurting anypony for fun and from a testimony from Applejack, he neither is a thief.

With that, Spike rolled the letter, but stopped when he remembered something

"But you already sent a letter today" he told Twilight

"It doesn't matter. Think of this as a letter with two parts" Twilight responded and Spike blew it with fire.

"Now, can we go to sleep? We can investigate tomorrow" suggested Spike, clearly tired from the events of the day. Everypony seemed happy with the idea and went to rest for the day.

Why would his pride be on the line if they want to study him inside a CAGE. I wouldn't go with them if they wanted to put me in a cage because that is demeaning and treating him like a animal, not pride.
