Discord just saved people a fortune in psychopharmaceuticals and therapy?
Latest announcement in Melding torch is a portable pico second pulse laser that can meld glass and steel. To be able to Meld anything, you need to look at atomic level optical trap based holographic flash 3D printing, where the materials to be melded are the supply, ultra short laser pulses ionise, then photon and EM manouver the atoms around before using the Stimulated Emmision part to extract the bond energy and so fix the atomic links in position. The biggest trick is more likely to be the extremely complex beam, frequency and pulse formation needed so the energy passing beyond the meld point can be safely absorbed and dissipated by the surrounding material with minimum side effects.
If you only go for just profitable, instead of maxmally profitable, you can fold the cost of in production recycling in to the equipment, then you just need to work on the breakeven point, which with magical assist acting like a catalyst, is a lot lower than pure chemical etc? You could end up not even needing smoke stacks at all, never mind magical filters on them.
Lets see them totally bypass 2D silicon electronics and move straight to 3D optical logic, given ready availability of gems to order?
Can’t wait for more!
Yay, update! Do you know when we can expect the next update?
10122809 Erm... when I get off my lazy ass?
Very good, as always. The healing demonstration scene was interesting, as it shows characterisation of how they all act, with showing Danielle's reaction to accidentally causing Artex (or Dan, for his human family's sake) to chop a finger off, Vaiawa's quick thinking for the solution, and Razor comforting Danielle when Artex's finger is put back on.
This seems a bit of a jump to conclusion on Brian's part. An "it works back home, it'll work here", if you will. Equestrian culture seems to actively work against industrialization, in no small part I believe due to cutie marks, which encourage ponies to become artisans rather than simple product producers. Canterlot Boutique comes to mind: Rarity could have gone for an assembly line and raked in mad numbers of bits, but she rejected it because she wants to create new dresses, not mindlessly stamp out patterns. Trying to do so was actually careening her straight into depression. And if Sassy's "I can't be part of another failed boutique!" means anything, this is not just Rarity's opinion, but a fairly common one.
If Brian successfully introduces industrialization, even if he somehow manages to avoid corruption, he'd still be fundamentally changing the way Equestrian production works, and every single artisan will be facing a lot of difficulties, both financially as the industrialization outproduces them, and emotionally as they now have to either become mass producers themselves (which as we've seen with Rarity is a route to depression for ponies) or change trades to something that isn't mass produced, which would mean abandoning their cutie marks.

Ok
Brian P. comes across as manic imo.
I want that treehouse
This was basically the perfect chapter for me. Mostly slice of life while people from two very different cultures learn to interact with each other.
Celestia and Discord's little scene, Discord realizing that he truly wants. All very good.
Danielle trying to adapt to this strange world she's going herself in, overcome her own insecurities. She is at least trying, despite how hard it is for her. That's admirable.
Artex's regeneration is getting up there. This is after only a few years. As his noun/been combo grows stronger over time, he's going to end up like those guys from various anime, where they are done healing even before a sword slash has finished it's ARC. Though I'm curious. He has destroy magic in his hands. That doesn't affect his other magic located there? Makes it kinda selective.
Brian P. Has some interesting ideas, but he should probably learn the rules governing magic before he let's his enthusiasm get too carried away.
So yeah, absolutely fantastic chapter! I have zero issues with it. Keep up the fantastic work!
How ARE things over there?
10123047 Not terrible. The Governor is still a complete psychopath though
10123217
Mind telling me where you are again?
10123272 Virginia
10123276
Heard about that guy, friggen chode that he is, but I also hear most of the state plans on not listening to him
10122752
YES! YES! YES! It finally updated! This is a very pleasant thing to wake up to now!^_^
10123331 True. And in a session the sherrifs from all around Virginia requested a 3% pay increase for their Deputies. Northam denied it: Because we know your deputies will not do what we want, so we will not do what you want.
10123456
I consider it childish to a degree. I am sure time will make a resolution occur
10123667 It is childish, but this is the man that idiots elected. I did not vote for him but many inner-city people did. The party did a lot of gerrymandering and rigged the election.
10123673
Some argue that the cities are starting to become too big of a voting block and need to be separated form the rest of the state
10124289 That has already been done. The votes of those in Richmond outnumbered those in other cities because those in Richmond have more voting precincts than the rest of the state combined.
Wut.
in fairness any child is capable of biting through a finger. It takes about the same level of effort as biting through a carrot.
10125069 Having tried biting off a Human finger, it is much more difficult than you think. WAAAAAY more difficult than a carrot.
10125169
Huh, I actually looked it up, apparently this is just one of those myths that has high cultural penetration and no real fact to it. Looks like it'd take roughly 2-3 times the force of a maximum force bite to even do significant damage(1500-1700 newtons to fracture a finger, 500-700 newtons~ maximum human bite), and carrots clock in somewhere around 75-150 newtons to bite through.
The more you know.
10125469 Don't feel bad, for a long time I believed some complete bullshit.
10125615
let's be honest, we all still do. Myths spread like mad.
10125724 True enough.
Man, I dont check this site all that much anymore, but seeing updates to this always makes my day better!
Another Nice chapter down. Hope You keep spoiling my meaty seratonin engine :)
10236513 That was a typo on my part.
10237487
That's the new beer & marijuana joint <i can neither confirm nor deny a pun was intended in this comment> next door to the Melting Pot.
Well [something]!, last chapter and story of my binge reading (already read every other of Truthseeker's stories), nothing more then to wait for the next chapter of this awesome story.
ps. here's something i found on the internet for any reading this that has gotten bad or negative comments.
Opinions are like assholes.
Everyone has one - but some just smell worse than others.
10252770 Celestia did it for a thousand years and would be more used to doing it.
Well, I’m finally all caught up with all your stories. It’s been a good run.
And it’s just in time for Hiriboshi’s little shitstorm to start raining down on everyone in the next chapter.
Brian's ambition is admirable, but a bit worrying. Hope it develops into something good once he learns more about magic.
Man, bad timing but his comment made me laugh.
Meanwhile, Celestia and Discord and the kids....
