The Equestrian Royal Navy has... Declined. What used to be flotillas upon flotillas of mighty vessels is now a collection of small sailboats, albeit in excellent repair and with all the conveniences and tech of modern Equestrian sailing.
However, when a threat to Equestria rears its head, Twilight Sparkle - along with Equestria's most magically-talented mares - must embark on an ocean-bound adventure to save the land!

Okay, wow. This is definitely a very captivating start, and I'm curious about where this will go.
Interesting take on the characters, too. Twilight is actually treating them with respect instead of taking cheap shots, which really annoys me when other authors do it. It nicely justifies why they're willing to go along with the plan even though Twilight's hiding something. I definitely like it.
I'm a bit curious why Twilight won't want to bring her regular friends, though, and how you'll address that.
Also, Sunset as an alicorn? I did not see that coming, but I endorse it. It's a neat twist.
