I do not necessarily have an issue with humans are superior stories. I have an issue about the poor writing that is often involved with it, such as with this, and the lack of legitimate creative thinking. Because it ignors anything the ponies are capable of to repel the situation.
You made the exact same mistake as every story of this nature i have encounter. Shining armor and Cadance could have instantly created a shield and completely repelled that aircraft, if not destroyed it as the field of abstract energy slams against it.
And shields are Shining Armor's specialty.
Not to mention that, as Cadance's likely has blasts capable of piercing stone, she could completely destroy the aircrafts herself.
So in other words your entire scenario here is moot because, if they acted as they would likely have in this scenario, the mission would have been stopped and the soldiers killed either directly or indirectly. And since that machine just killed a bunch of her citizens, the chapter should have ended with the aircraft being completely destroyed by her as it would be her instantaneous response.
So through analysis you are creating a false scenario by ignoring the characterizations and abilities of the ponies. And yes, they actually do have them. It may be a kid show but it has world building. And as it has world building you have to take into account that the ponies actually have attributes to defend themselves with.
Of course, as this is a humans are superior story, you will somehow completely revoke my analysis, call me an idiot in one manner or another, amongst other unpleasantness that you use to try and mask that you have no legitimate way to disprove my statements. Cause may it be forbidden that those with supernatural attributes could somehow fight back and or win.
And if you don't do so yourself, i am certain someone else will somehow educate me about how much of an idiot i am without giving any proof that i am an idiot.

Because you literally killed off a canon character to prove that 'huamnz super' and that you immediately presumed that a shield normally capable of enshrouding an entire city would be weaker if it only covered one castle? Or that they did not simply expand the shield around the city, something shining armor AND cadance are both capable of doing, and smacking the aircrafts away and into oblivion?
This story has hit up EVERY point i have made so far and worse than i first thought. We are talking about something meant to repel blasts that can rupture through an entire castle with just force of will and the breathe of dragons. How the hell would mundane missiles affect it so easily? And yet again, they could have just expanded the shield over the entire city and destroyed every single aircraft at once. It was the obvious tactic, but of course 'houmanz superar' and any speculation that is to the pony advantage is obviously false, even when something made of simple if cleverly shaped matter is somehow destroying a barrier made of abstract energy that is able to warp reality and matter.
Seriously dude, you put no effort into this. No actual thought. That is my problem with 'humanz supadar' it has such little effort and though that it involves every mocking variation of the term i can imagine.

Here is the thing dude. If we were talking about generation 1 ponies, or any after, and this kinda scenario, it would be fair neough. However since day one this iteration of mlp has had an aspect of high fantasy to it. Magic is something very powerful, not a bunch of bubles and breezes. And thus if you are making a story with this iteration of pony, you gotta take that into account.
Of course you will not take that into account. And the idea of 'they ain't real' does not work here. Because you are writing a story where humans are itneracting with a fictional thing. Its just lazy to not take into account the factors of this said fictional thing if you are writing a story. One could write a story about killing godzilla with a sniper rifle, but that would not make it even a decent story cause you are massively ignoring what the fictional thing is.

Even if they were, it's still up to the author to decide how their version of the world works. Based on the show alone (and that's what I intend to go with unless this is an AU that will be talked about later) ponies have medieval weaponry. So this shield is going to be designed to defend against magical energy (which has very little to do with missiles), medieval weapons such as swords and spears, and siege engines. Now a military grade missile has far more CONCENTRATED kinetic energy than any of these. The shield is designed to counter physical force from weapons that are centuries behind what's being deployed against it, and based on the changeling invasion it is vulnerable to kinetic force.
You don't actually know how the shield spell works, what it's actually designed to defend against, if it's malleable, or any of how the magic works. So while it may be true that the author didn't think about it (I really don't know) to make such a blatantly hypocritical argument about it is really pathetic.
I'm not sure Celestia will be willing to talk. Even if she is you have to FACE Twilight, Luna and then Candace. I doubt the Princess of Love will be feeling so loving that someone brutally killed her husband while stealing the think that makes her kingdom possible
