I'm quite aware people won't be drawn to it, and the site (and community, I guess) isn't really set up to utilise it. A lot of the mechanics, as I understand them, have to do with such groups, tags, and the matter of where and how to post them, and also to have quite a bit of networking going on; shopping it to blogs such as EqD. None of those things interest me terribly. Quite frankly I prefer to write and read 'proper' books instead of chasing what is locally considered exciting prose. Honestly, if a character story about someone who is made up by the author themselves is automatically boring to someone, I'm not going to try to get them to read it against their will.

To extend the matter, skill is largely an attribution of crowd pleasing. There's nothing wrong with a popular story, but at the same time, I'd rather do what I'm good at and let the few people that accidentally stumble upon my story and enjoy it have a nice read. I don't really see what would be wrong with such an approach, but then, I'm a writer and not an agent. :D

Anyway, I appreciate your taking the time to comment - even though the story's only been submitted yesterday, and reading all the way through it takes at least a few hours. I'll give it some time, and see if it finds a (humble) place.

That was a good story.
