This is pretty cool. I find it really funny though that he gave the shop clerk a tip to be nice and "balance the scales" and then busted through the front door. Replacing all that glass and metal will be way more expensive than what he gave, though it's something I would expect from a Ghost Rider. Property damage is one crime he doesn't police... though the actual Rider may have been like that due to the universe he lived in. Property damage is a hero's worst inconvenience.
Thanks for the positive feedback folks, I honestly thought this chapter would see the whole thing crash and burn. Also, good jobs catching the references, but there is one more that you've all missed. It's obvious, just maybe not to this younger generation.
Either I'm doing something write or you folks are way too easily amused.
Are you kidding!? I've been waiting for a ghost rider fic for two years! And still! The irony of me finishing the spirit of vengeance and suddenly finding this fic straight afterward is overwhelming.
>> INGLORIOUS ANON I thank you for the comment, but could you please tell me why it was awful. Your opinion could be very helpful in making this story better.
This is pretty dang good. The occasional spelling/grammar error means nothing with a premise this fine; keep it at this quality throughout and you might earn yourself...a moustache! For now, have a happy Twilight: You earned it.
You know, I was a bit worried about this story when I first saw it, after all look what happened to the Ghost Rider movie (and some of the other Villain/Hero in Equestria stories), but I am pleasantly surprised. Please keep it up.
Any ideas on how he will get revenge on Celestia? Burning all the cakes in the world perhaps? Anyways, I actually think the ghost rider is a good character. I don't know anything else besides the movies, what kind of powers does he have?
Superhuman Stamina: The mystical energy that empowers Ghost Rider prevents his muscles from producing fatigue toxins during physical activities, granting him limitless superhuman stamina.
Superhuman Durability: Johnny Blaze is highly resistant to the point of being basically immune to all types of earthly physical damage as he has taken blows from beings such as an enraged World War Hulk with no sign of pain or discomfort, had his entire skull destroyed and regenerated instantly without any discomfort[13], and while the Ghost Rider is in control only divine weapons forged in heaven can cause discomfort or harm to the Ghost Rider. The Ghost Rider is capable of withstanding great impact forces, temperature and pressure extremes, powerful energy blasts, and falls from great heights without sustaining injury. As his bodily tissues have been transformed, leaving only a skeleton, most projectiles such as bullets simply pass through him or bounce off his bones. Ghost Rider's body is for all intents immune to physical injury, as he is evidently not able to feel pain and is able to survive with no apparent discomfort no matter how severe the injury (Unless a weapon forged from Heaven itself is used against him, which would be a problem)[14].
Regenerative Healing Factor: Despite his invulnerability to conventional forms of injury, objects such as weapons forged in heaven by the arch angel Zadkiel, can actually harm the Ghost Rider to a certain extent. However, if his being is damaged, the magical energies imbuing him allows the Ghost Rider or Johnny Blaze to instantly regenerate any and all damage done, even to the point of fully regenerating lost limbs in moments, and regenerating his skull after it was destroyed in seconds without any discomfort or any evident pain.
Hellfire Manipulation: Ghost Rider possesses the ability to generate, control, and project mystical fire, or "hellfire" at will. Hellfire is an ethereal and supernatural flame that burns the soul of a person and can be used to burn their physical body. He can utilize this fire in various ways, including projecting it from his eyes, hands, mouth, or even channel it from his body into his weapons like his shotgun, form walls of hellfire, and even create a motorcycle completely out of hellfire. He can also unleash hellfire in omnidirectional explosions that are incredibly powerful, capable of bringing great pain to the Hulk.
Mystical Chain Projection: Ghost Rider wields a mystical chain that is capable of growing in length, cutting through almost anything, and transforming into other weapons. He can also spew and project chains from his mouth or chest at will.
Penance Stare: Ghost Rider possesses the supernatural ability to cause any individual who stares into his eyes to see and feel every bit of pain they have ever inflicted on anyone in their entire lifetime for all eternity.
ALSO FUN FACT: In world war Hulk it was stated as canon that should the Ghostrider ever feel that the Hulk is no longer the victim of humanity but instead the oppressor he will go after the Hulk and it is said that the Ghostrider would be able to beat the Hulk even if the Hulk went 100% all out. Basically the Ghostrider is the strongest superhero in the Marvel universe if the spirit of vengeance that gives the Ghostrider power is unleashed. The thing that is limiting the Ghostriders powers is actually the Human Soul behind it. For if the Human soul were to stop restraining it it would begin to "Punish" every sinner EVER. At that point the only one who could stop the Ghostrider would be God himself because not even the Devil that created him could hope to stop him. Human soul+ Spirit of Vengeance= Ghostrider SO YEAH dont ever remove the Human Soul from the equation otherwise the Spirit of vengeance will just start enacting vengeance from the most sinful down to the least sinful but either way everybody dies. Except for true Christians at least according to the Ghostriders orginal canon I believe it was stated that Christ would literally intervene.
4215308 Hell, a lot of super heroes/villains are very OP. The only reason they don't completely curb-stomp everything is that a) The opposition is as powerful as them and b) normal humans/human organizations tend to create some level of countermeasure.
For example, Dr. Strange would be considered powerful enough to trump Twilight, Luna and Celestia before breakfast. He joined the Avengers since it seemed to be a pleasing diversion from all the eldrich(sp?) abominations he fights.
Superman might be weak to magic, but good luck hitting him; he's just below the Flashes in speed. And he's strong enough to knock people out by flicking his finger at them. And with his vision and super-hearing powers you'll have a hell of a time sneaking up on him. And a fight with Celestia would be one sided; he gets his power from the sun.
Then there's Thor who can physically kick your rear end, summon up every storm on the planet to kick it further and then smack you with his hammer. That only a few people can pick up.
Then you have Green Lantern, any Green Lantern. They all possess a weapon that takes the power of your imagination and your will and turns it into anything you want. It's referred to as the Most Powerful Weapon in the Universe for good reason.
Oh, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. And let's not even imagine what would happen if the Joker got loose on Equestria. To quote The Trickster; When supervillians want to scare each other, they tell Joker stories.
4215672 Joker stories LOL Anyway ya' got me there, it's just it never dawned on me before that Ghost Rider's way up there as well, because he's not as well-known or as successful a character.
4215762 That's true, but not all the most powerful characters are the most well known. You probably know about Dr. Doom, Magneto and the Red Skull, but before the cartoon Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes came out you might not have known of Graviton. Who can control the force of gravity itself. If you have seen the show, then you know who OP that can be as it took Thor, Iron Man, Hulk, Ant-Man and Wasp to bring him down.
Then you have Silver Surfer. Ex-Herald of Galactus, his hold a bit of the Power Cosmic. His strength level on the marvel wiki is classified as God-Like. That's before considering his energy manipulation powers.
Then you have Arcade. Normal human, nothing particularly dangerous... Except he has a knack for kidnapping people and dumping them in an amusement park filled from end to end with death traps called Murderworld.
Then you have the Shadow King... A pure, telepathic, astral enemy without a psychical body but able to posses people. And if you are able to get to the astral plane to fight him he can change it to his whims. For a long time he was considered second only to Professor X in telepathic power.
And then there's the Radioactive Man. ... I don't need to say a thing, do I?
Dayum. Peeps really comin' outta the woodwork to comment on this. Literally none of these commenters I've seen before. Except for Jlargent. ...Probably. That Avatar is pretty distinctive.
All I got to say is that this better be good. The last Ghostrider fic I remember crashed and burned(author stopped updating it after about 5 chapters).
Heheehhe...Let us watch the authormonkey dance..
both, your doing right and because of lack of good fics,we read what we can get our hands on
This is pretty cool. I find it really funny though that he gave the shop clerk a tip to be nice and "balance the scales" and then busted through the front door. It had to be "Stop right there, criminal scum!" XD A bit of Skyrim never hurts ^^
Yeah, I'm certainly going to enjoy this. Glad that he knows not to take things too seriously, especially in his own head.
... That's it, I'm starting my own.
I can imagine him having this play as he tears down the road:
The spirit of vengeance and his epic quest for cough-drops...
Will admit, did not see that coming.
So far, I'm really liking your story. Nice job!
Nice fic you got going here, I'll defenitely keep an eye on it.
The reference to the comic series was nice too.
Thanks for the positive feedback folks, I honestly thought this chapter would see the whole thing crash and burn. Also, good jobs catching the references, but there is one more that you've all missed. It's obvious, just maybe not to this younger generation.

Looking good so far. I hope to see more of this soon.

4215257 ... my brother Nightcrawlerfan has always been big on comics, but I never realized... holy shit.

Hmm, related to the Nemesis one and yet it's pretty d*Squeak* good.
