Just an attempted author... artist... sculptist... video editor... singer... you know what? That's enough about me.

Ponykind is under attack, but not by the usual threats that stem from magic. Aliens known as buggers have come down in an attempt to colonize Equus. Celestia herself managed to defeat their colonization force, dying a hero and a martyr. Luna has picked up the rule in her stead, and pressed Equestrian technology to its limits, while also starting campaigns to select capable commanders for when the next invasion comes.

100 years later, enter Twilight Sparkle. Brilliant, strategic, and anti-social, she has the ability to take command of Equestria's largest fighting force. And she’s only six years old.

This is an alternate universe set in “Ender’s Game” by Orson Scott Card.

The first few chapters will be rather similar to those in the book, but I expect it to diverge after I get into the thick of things.

Wow! I must say, congratulations for writing the first well written EG crossover I've seen here! I look forward to seeing what you have in store for Miss Sparkle! :pinkiehappy:

Well thank you! I've been a fan of Card's writing for awhile now, and I figured with the movie being recently released, I might as well do a bit of a crossover. I'm confused as to the definition of 'crossover' however. Would this count since it isn't characters interacting with each other?

And I hope you do enjoy. I apologize if it does seem a bit too similar to the book, but I'm trying to emulate Card's writing style while discovering my own. Hopefully it'll bridge off, but as for now, I'm following the main storyline of EG.

Ender's Game re-imaging?!
:pinkiehappy:

Incidentally, will the changelings play a part in this story?

Perhaps, perhaps not. :trixieshiftright:

I'll give you a hint though. Re-read the part where the bullies are taunting Twi.

Oh man, you really went all out on this chapter. I really liked that you made Shining Armor a bit tamer than Peter, though I wish you had chosen a different character to fill Valentine's role...

I was having a bit of trouble with that choice as well. Seeing how its only Twi and Shining are the only children in that family, my options were limited. I thought that she would have the emotional connection to Spike though, but if you've read the story, Spike wouldn't fit well in Valentine's role later on. So, I decided to bring Cadence in. I'm still a little conflicted on it.

Would you happen to have any suggestions?

Well, I would do one of two things:
1) I would have both Spike and Cadence fill in Valentine's role, but once you get to the Demosthenes and Locke section, only use Spike.
2) (and this is the one I would most likely use) I would create an OC sibling for Twilight. It's been done before, it can be done again.

I'm not over adverse to the second option, but for the first one? I just can't see Spike being a willing fall-guy like Valentine was. Cadence however, has a love interest in Shining and would be willing to be the 'bad-guy' for him.

As for the OC sibling.... eeeehhhhh.... I wouldn't mind it, but I think if I did that their personality would simply be a copy of Valentine's from the book. At least with Twi and Shining I'm trying to mesh the personalities of Ender and Peter.

Understandable. Then allow me to make a request for a future chapter. I would like it if you could use an OC of mine named Dusk Storm for Bean's character.

:derpyderp2: I certainly wasn't expecting that. I'll... have to consider it. I was thinking about using Sweetie (hence the tag) for Bean, but maybe a few OC's wouldn't be too bad in the story. PM me some information on Dusk Storm.

Sure, I'll send you the info you'll need.
