Chapter 28: The Closest Place To Home

Tesla was in a crowd of ponies that headed towards Ponyville, the crowd was split into three, heading to different places, Tesla didn't know where the others were heading though. Luna walked beside him, they both walked in silence, she wanted to talk to him, but he didn't want to talk, it wasn't the time for talking. Walking on the dirt path made Nikola think to himself, he was desperate for a confirmation that Twilight and the other girls were okay and he kept on thinking about that and that caused him to worry a bit more. Tesla looked ahead to see Ponyville just ahead of him, he sighed in relief at the sight, it wasn't destroyed by the dragons, yet,

"You promised you would take a rest once we get there, Nikola" Luna said, "I'm just reminding you"

"I know. I'll take a rest once I get to Twilight's home" Tesla replied.

"How's your eye?" Luna asked.

"It stings" Tesla told her.

"Do you want to go to a doctors?" Luna asked him.

"No, I'll just clean the cut and dress it" Tesla replied.

They continued walking in silence for another short while, until Tesla broke the silence,

"Fuck, I'll need to tell their families" Tesla sighed.

"It's okay. I'll come with you to tell them" Luna said.

"No, I'll do it myself" Tesla replied.

"Are you sure?" Luna asked.

"Yeah" Tesla nodded.

Another ten minutes passed until the crowd of ponies reached Ponyville. The residents looked at the arriving ponies in worry as they came into Ponyville, some sad, slightly bloodied, and some covered in small burns.

Tesla looked and saw the Sun was hiding behind grey clouds, it was gloomy, and he felt as if it seemed fitting with his current mood. He then saw Twilight's home, he approached it and departed from the crowd, Luna reluctantly followed him. Tesla looked under a welcoming mat and found a key to the back door,

"You don't need to follow me, Luna" Tesla told her.

"I want to help you" Luna replied.

"With what?" Tesla asked.

"Your eye" Luna told him, "If your not going to go to a doctors, then the least I can do is stitch it, your cut is really deep"

"I'll just clean, it'll be fine..." Tesla began.

"I'm not taking no for an answer, Nikola" Luna said.

"Well, if you insist. Please follow me, Luna" Tesla ordered her.

The two entered Twilight's home from the back door, they came through the kitchen, Tesla closed the door behind him and then went through the refrigerator and then found a large bottle of apple cider at the back of it, he pulled it out, opened it and drank it,

"What the hell are you doing?" Luna asked him grumpily.

"Resting" Tesla replied as he took a large gulp of cider.

"Look, don't drink though" Luna told him.

"Why not?" Tesla asked.

"Just don't" Luna said.

"I'm depressed, Luna" Tesla began, "My friends have been kidnapped, dragons have been released and I think any person in their right mind would drink at a time like this" Tesla explained to her.

"Look, we'll talk this over, we'll think something, just don't get yourself drunk" Luna said.

Tesla ignored her and continued drinking from the bottle, which annoyed Luna further,

"Give me the bottle Nikola" She ordered.

"One last sip please" Tesla replied.

"Fine" Luna said.

Tesla took a sip, which led onto a large gulp, and then almost the bottle of cider, right before Luna snatched the bottle away with her magic, which made Tesla dribble out some cider,

"I said you can have a sip, Nikola" Luna told him.

"Luna, maybe getting drunk will ease the pain from getting my cut stitched" Tesla made an excuse.

"Or, I can use magic to make you feel less pain and just stitch it from there, so you don't have to be drunk" Luna smiled sarcastically.

"Ouch!" Tesla exclaimed as he felt the needle release from his skin.

"Just three more stitches, Nikola" Luna reassured him.

"I thought you said the magic would make it less painful?" Tesla asked.

"I thought I did" Luna replied.

"Still hurts" Tesla moaned.

"Quit whining please" Luna giggled.

"Thank you, Luna. For helping me" Tesla told her.

"It's the least I can do" Luna replied.

"Shouldn't you be..." Tesla continued but paused as the needle pierced through his skin again, "...Aren't you meant to be helping your sister with all that's going on outside?"

"I will" Luna told him.

Luna finished stitching the cut on his eye, it still felt painful but not as painful as before, it also felt itchy, but he resisted the temptation to itch it. Tesla was still in the kitchen whilst Luna was stitching his eye, he looked over at the time and saw it was six o'clock in the afternoon,

"Thanks for that, Luna" Tesla thanked her.

"You're welcome" Luna replied, "Be careful with what you're doing with your eye, in-case the stitching comes out, I don't want to need to re-do it again, because to be honest, it looked disgusting"

"Okay, Luna" Tesla said.

"Well, I should be going. You better get some rest after what you've been through today" Luna told him.

Tesla nodded. Luna nodded and smiled back,

"Goodbye Nikola" Luna said as she turned around to approach the back door.

"Wait" Tesla stopped her.

Luna turned back around to face him,

"Yeah?" Luna questioned.

"Am I a good person?" He asked.

"Why do you ask that?" Luna asked back, puzzled.

"I just don't think that I'm a good person" Tesla told her simply.

"You are a good person though, you have a good heart, Nikola. You're willing to give your life for your friends and I've lived a long life, so I know bravery when I see it" Luna replied, "Don't say you're a bad person, you're a really good and nice person Nikola"

"Thanks Luna" Tesla said.

"You're welcome Nikola" Luna smiled.

"Can I just ask you one more thing please?" Nikola asked.

"Of course" Luna replied.

"I don't tend to sleep well. Is there any spell you can use that could help me?"

"There is" Luna told him, "You better find someplace comfortable"

"I don't mind sleeping at a kitchen table" Nikola chuckled.

"Fine then" Luna chuckled back.

Luna came closer to Nikola and explained to him,

"I don't know any sleep spells that require my horn, I know one which involves my lips though"

"Any kissing involved?" Nikola asked sarcastically.

"There is, in fact. The spell is called the kiss of sleep" Luna replied.

"Oh" Tesla smirked.

"Stay there" Luna said as she approached his lips, "Valou luo kaste lī inpradinna" She spoke the mystic words as then locked her lips against his.

The kiss was quick, and then Luna instantly backed as she saw her spell take over Tesla, his eyes that rolled began to close as he rested on the kitchen table,

"Rest well, Nikola" Luna whispered to the sleeping Tesla as she sneaked out the back door
