On a cold day in Canterlot, Crystal Shard has been hired to retrieve some rubies for a fashionista in Ponyville. After a quick detour, he reminisces about his younger days, when both he and the mines seemed to be so much richer.

((This is basically just an experiment in characterization. The plot serves little than to hint at things that will be played upon in future projects. This is just my attempt to get inside the head of my OC.))
