As Twilight fights against the reality of her situation, her storied life is remembered piecemeal as the recognition of defeat sows seeds of hope for change and a brighter tomorrow.

After a drunken question on how to become braver, Pinkie Pie hands her a horror novel with the advice to keep in mind that it is only a story, but when a pony off the edge of the forest bears a striking resemblance to the pony in the story, Fluttershy realizes the worst.

While on the hunt for a US$120,000 bounty, everypony's favourite bounty hunter Reno Raines finds himself in a land of talking coloured horses and steam locomotives. Although a little skeptical at first, Reno eventually finds himself getting along with the ponies and engines. But things take a turn for the worse when Reno finds out to his horror that the bounty he is hunting for is no ordinary bounty, and even the ponies and engines are terrified of it...
