This is a multi-part story focusing on my own idea of Equestria's past. Focusing on the transition of power and the beginning of modern Equestria.

Told through his eyes, Forgeburn tells of his rise and fall, as well as the start of a story to be told through the ages.

This beginnings what happened over 2000 years ago, just after his 170th birthday.

Oh did I mention that he is an alicorn?

Or at least, he used to be...

Queen Chrysalis is evil. She has a heart full of hatred. But little do we know that she wasn't always this way. Her family, childhood, and friends are all what turned her into the monster she is today.

We know that Princess Luna supposedly became Nightmare Moon because she thought she wasn't loved. But is that really all that happened? Starswirl the Bearded and Clover the Clever are determined to solve the mystery of why an innocent, kind, loving pony was turned into a real-life Nightmare.

Follow the story of Broken Hinge, one of the few survivors of Stable 101, as he traverses the Everfree forest to bring down Red Eye's army of slaves. Slaughtered in a dark magic ritual, he has risen, imbued with the spirit of a great and ancient mage and now runs loose, trying his best to stop the evils of Everfree from spreading across the Wastes. With his own sanity in question and a slew of dark secrets to unravel, he faces a greater danger than he could have ever imagined.

After having been crowned princesses, Luna and Celestia are escorted by Star Swirl the Bearded around Equestria. Having made camp for the evening, Luna finds the treasures that awaken at night and finds her destiny.

This will be based on my imaging of Starswirl.

I base his character on his portrayal in the Season 7 finale Shadow Play (I.e., an arrogant jerk)

Most of the incidents will be versions of things done by real people
(For example, trying to use resonance to collapse a bridge was done by Nikola Tesla IRL, as was his shooting lightning at people. This is about Starswirl's career as a chess prodigy. IMO, it's not necessary to know anything about chess to understand it.

Twilight Sparkle is an apprentice wizard to the famous Starswirl the Bearded, archmage extraordinaire. In his cottage on the outskirts of Ponyville, she and her familiar, the pseudodragon Spike, live in simple comfort as she learns the secrets of the arcane. But her life of quiet study comes to an end the day the sun rises late. Soon after, she is thrust into a world of danger and adventure, seeking ancient relics that can save her world. But for Twilight, the most difficult task is something else entirely - making friends.

A note on tags: The crossover tag is included because these vignettes, intentionally, draw a great deal from the current (fifth) edition of the Dungeons & Dragons roleplaying game.

Several weeks after defeating the Pony of Shadows, Starswirl recieved a message from one he hasn't heard from in a long time. He took Twilight, his successor, and traveled to the city of Purrsepolis to meet Starswirls old friend. The Purrsian Emperor.

Now familiar faces from the past return to the present as the six mares (and dragon) must face the greatest challenge yet: The Corruptions of Ruin. WIll they be able to face powers made to counter their own skills and ideals?

And on the eve of the return of the greatest mage in Equestria too...

Everpony knows Celestia and Luna. But in reality we know nothing about them, all we know is they defeated Discord, Luna went mad, Celestia banished Luna, 1000 years passed and then she came back.

But rest easy, for this is their tale.
