Little did Kahmey know that his house held secrets.
Kahmey settled into his house in Ponyville, has had his first problem in town but little did he know he had bigger problems that would be triggered just by touching a single item somewhere in the house. It turns out that the Tea family had some dark secrets that had been covered up. A terrible curse that will ruin a life in some way, but the methods were unknown. What will this curse do, why was it placed, how will Kahmey deal with it, when was it done, who was the one responsible for this? Lets all find out.
Kahmey the devil dog has been through a lot since he has moved to Equestria, fear of showing himself in public, being judged instantly by ponies, fighting his own brother, but today is going rather smooth for him. Kahmey decided he would go to his library and do some cleaning up since he never managed to get around to that room. When he got into the library with the broom and dustpan as well his feather duster he was resisting the urge to walk towards the back wall of the library. When he worked his way to the back wall he walked near a certain point of the back area and felt a very strong ambiance of danger coming from the other side of that spot in the wall. He left the library and locked the door, he went to the hardware store and bought the heaviest duty padlock as well as a lock hinge and loop he could find and a steel door and a went straight home, he installed the steel door, put the lock hinge and loop on the door, locked it and shut the rose door behind him. When Princess Twilight came over, she went up the stairs and saw Kahmey in front of the door shaking so she asked him what just happened to him.
(Kahmey what happened to you?) Twilight Sparkle asked. (I don’t know what happened, I was cleaning the library and was being drawn to the back area and when I got to that area I felt a strong ambiance of danger coming from a specific area in the wall.) Kahmey replied in a frightened tone. (What do you think it could be? Can you give an explanation?) Twilight Sparkle asked. Kahmey gave the Princess a look that answered her question.
Kahmey decided to go to the coffee shop for his normal brew and to gather his thoughts hoping to think of the possibilities of what might be going on in that library. When he got his coffee he immediately sat down in his usual booth in the back corner with no windows. He started thinking about the possibilities of what was going on in his library, why was there a negative energy in the back of the library, what was causing it, who was responsible for it, when was this done, and where does that area of the wall lead? Is there a door behind it, if so, why was a false constructed over the facing, what is behind it? All these questions went through Kahmey’s head as he took another sip of his coffee.
When Kahmey finished his coffee, he wondered if the Tea family had any dark moments in their life, so he decided to go to the town hall to see if Mayor Mare could pull documents on the Tea family and find answers to fit his thoughts. Kahmey walked into the town hall and was greeted by the Mayor.
(Mayor Mare, I was wondering if you had any documents on the Tea family that lived in my house.) Kahmey asked (I should. What are you looking for in particular?) said the Mayor (I’m looking for something that could explain a feeling I have in the library, so I need something that might point towards like a haunting, a hex or possibly a prosperity curse.) Kahmey said hoping to get answers. (Well when you put it that way I have my doubts, but I’m sure something will come up. Here are the documents on the Tea family.) said the Mayor (That’s a small file.) Kahmey mentioned (Well not much was documented on this family. They kept to themselves just about all the time, they weren’t social with anypony in town and they were mostly at home. But if there’s anything that could point to dark actions in that folder you will find it.) the Mayor replied.
So Kahmey took the folder home and looked through it. When he got towards the end of the pages, he found it. The final pages stated that the Tea family vanished and that as the house deteriorated and the dust and dirt collected, a sudden burst of negative energy emitted from the home and no offers were made on the house since. With this information, Kahmey thought that there might be a prosperity curse on the home. He had some books about curses on the vessel he came to Equestria on. He got a ticket for a train to Equestrian harbor and hoped he could find information on prosperity curses in the book he had.
(Please let the books on my ship have some answers.) Kahmey said to himself (Hey Kahmey what are you doing on this train.?) said a familiar voice (Kahmey are you okay?) Rarity said popping her head up over the seat in front of Kahmey (Oh yeah, I’m fine Rarity.) Kahmey said lying straight through his sharp dagger like teeth. (You sure are bad at telling lies Kahmey, so what’s wrong?) Rarity said seeing right through his lie. (Alright Rarity. My house is apparently doomed to a prosperity curse and I’m going to my ship to retrieve a book I have on curses.) Kahmey replied (Well I would like to see your ship, so could I be of assistance?) Rarity said (I suppose so.) Kahmey said giving Rarity permission
When they got to the harbor Kahmey lead Rarity to his ship. Applejack decided to tag along since she overheard them talking about the vessel. They got to the ship (Well here it is, the Silent Mary.) said Kahmey. (It’s beautiful, I wish we could sail it but this your ship.) said Rarity (Well for now we just need to look for the book. It has a vantablack leather cover with a purple gem.) said Kahmey. So him and Rarity boarded the ship. (Hey can I come aboard to?) Applejack asked (Sure three is better than one, we’ll find the book quicker.) said Kahmey (What does the book look like?) Applejack asked (It has a vantablack leather cover with a purple gem.) said Kahmey. So the three searched for this book about curses and hexes.
They searched the vessel from the captain’s quarters to the middle floor below deck, when they went to the bottom floor, Rarity was drawn to something and she let out a scream of excitement then started shouting (It’s absolutely gorgeous!) yelled Rarity (Oh I see you found it.) said Kahmey. They went back to the docks and Kahmey went back to the train station. (Rarity get off of Kahmey’s ship.) Applejack yelled out (Oh but it’s so divine.) Rarity argued (Rarity, we’re not taking that vessel on our sea trip.) Applejack said (You two can take the Silent Mary. Not only is it a nice looking vessel but it’s also the strongest vessel.) Kahmey said giving them permission to sail his ship. (Are you sure we can sail this ship?) Applejack asked (Yes.) Kahmey confirmed (Thanks we’re just waiting for RainbowDash, Pinkie Pie, Apple Bloom and Big Mac.) Applejack said reboarding the giant ship. Kahmey got back on the train to Ponyville. When he got back to his house he began his research on the possible curse placed on his house. He found out that curses and hexes can be placed in everyday objects, jewelry or books. With this information he grabbed his sovereign sword and went to the area in the wall and tore up the spot revealing a beautiful door, but Kahmey knew that what was behind the door could not be as beautiful. He opened the door and ahead of him was a gramophone with a record on the turntable and there was book next to it with an emerald on the cover. When Kahmey opened the book the gramophone started playing the song on the record, the song lyrics said, “You’re mine and we belong together, yes we belong together.” When Kahmey heard the song, he closed the book, held it against his chest then tore out of that room and slammed the door behind him.
(What just happened? How did that record player start playing? I didn’t put the needle on the record. Why did it play the record when I opened the book? Who put that record player in there? When were these things put in there? Where did the Tea family go? I need to get out of here.) Kahmey said to himself. He ran back down the stairs, shut the steel door, locked it and shut the stained glass rose door.
He went to Princess Twilight’s castle to ask her about the book. Twilight responded with a shocked tone (Kahmey, where did you get that book?) Twilight asked (I got it out of a sealed off room in my house.) Kahmey replied (Kahmey, that’s a diary.) Twilight replied (It must be the Tea family’s diary.) Kahmey said.
Kahmey sat down at the dining table and read the diary and he was practically traumatised by what he read. The one line that was in the diary said something that shocked both Kahmey and Princess Twilight (Anypony who moves into this house beware. Leave home or suffer the consequences. You won’t last a day when the curse is activated.) Kahmey read out (You can understand that?) Twilight questioned (Yes, I can understand every language.) Kahmey confirmed.
He knew this was a prosperity curse on the house. He thought back to the danger sign hung on his front door the day he entered the house. Could this be the reason for the danger sign? That was every bit of possible.
Kahmey went home to eat some lunch. He made his favorite meal, a cucumber sandwich. He started hearing music when he sat down at the table, it wasn’t the music he heard when the gramophone started playing in the extra room of the library, this time it sounded like a filly’s song. “Mary mary quite contrary how does your garden grow? With silver bells and cockle shells, and pretty maids all in a row.”.
(What in equestria was that?) Kahmey asked in an angered tone. It couldn’t have came from any speakers since he had no record player, at least not close enough to be that loud and the only gramophone in his house was in the secret room in the library, there was no way for the sound to make its way into the dining area because the room was on the other end of the house and it was covered by three doors, there were no vents it could travel through either. So where was the music coming from? The music started back up, only this time it was louder and sounded like it was right in his ears, he felt like headphones were fused to his head and the volume turned wide open. (AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!) Kahmey shouted at the top of his lungs. (TURN IT DOWN! TURN IT DOWN!) Kahmey yelled out (TURN IT OFF! TURN IT OFF! TURN IT OFF!) Kahmey demanded loud.
The music stopped, but Kahmey didn’t think it was over yet. Kahmey got a train to Canterlot the next day. Kahmey was hoping he could find some information about the curse that plagued his home. This was nothing like the prosperity curses that were described in his book of curses and hexes. He hoped the library in Canterlot would have some well needed answers. Kahmey made his way to the Canterlot library but he was stopped in his tracks. Princess Celestia was standing right in front of him.
(Kahmey, I didn’t expect to see you here, I thought you would be at your bakery.) said Princess (Oh sorry your majesty.) Kahmey apologized (No need for bowing or apologies, I can see something has you in a state of misery.) Princess Celestia said, concerned for Kahmey. (It’s nothing really major, your majesty.) Kahmey said lying through his sharp teeth again. (Why lie Kahmey, your clearly bad at it, also if there’s something going on you can tell me about it no matter what it is.) Princess Celestia reassured the canine in front of her. (It’s something in my house, I believe it to be a prosperity curse, but it’s more violent than the ones in my book.) Kahmey stated. (Well my old student Twilight Sparkle might know somepony who knows about the spirit world, you should go talk to her.) Princess Celestia replied.
Kahmey decided to use his flying boots to get to Princess Twilight’s castle. When he got to Twilight Sparkle’s castle he walked in and looked for her. He didn’t find Princess Twilight but he did see somepony else in the hallway. (Hello.) Kahmey greeted the pony (Oh hi there. Who are you?) The pony asked (My name is Kahmey and yours.) Kahmey replied (I’m Starlight Glimmer.) Starlight replied (Hello Starlight, is Princess Twilight around, I need to ask her something. It’s very important.) Kahmey replied (Oh yeah, she’s in the shower. She will be out shortly.) Starlight said. (Okay I can wait, I guess.) said Kahmey (Is something wrong?) Starlight asked (It’s a curse in my house, I believe it to be a prosperity curse, I understand if you don’t believe in curses.) Kahmey stated. (Oh trust me, I believe in curses, I’ve read about them.) Starlight reassured Kahmey (Okay, what kind of curses start with the host feeling a strong ambiance of danger coming from an area where the curse container was, then some kind of foal’s music playing then stopping and then blaring into the host’s ears piercing them?) Kahmey asked (Oh, that’s not a prosperity curse, that’s a more violent curse than a prosperity curse. I’m not sure what kind of curse you’ve activated.) Starlight replied (Oh, well I hope Princess Twilight might know or at least know somepony who knows what kind of curse I’ve encountered.) Kahmey said with hope.
Princess Twilight finally walked into the room that Kahmey and Starlight Glimmer were in. (What’s going on Kahmey?) Twilight asked (My home is cursed without a doubt Princess Twilight, there’s no thinking about it. I was hoping you would know somepony who has knowledge of the spirit world or curses.) said Kahmey (Well I’m not big on curses Kahmey but I do know of a zebra who might be able to help you. Her name is Zecora and I’m confident she will hold knowledge you’re looking for.) Twilight said answering Kahmey’s wish.
Kahmey made his way to Zecora’s hut in the everfree forest. (Well this has to be the place, it’s the only other building or should I say the only home in this forest.) Kahmey said to himself Kahmey knocked on the door of the hut and Zecora greeted him. (Oh, who might you be and what is it that I see?) Zecora asked (My name is Kahmey and I’m a devil dog.) Kahmey replied (Well, what brings you to my place, I can tell you have for me to solve an urgent case.?) Zecora asked (Well I was hoping you knew something about curses.) Kahmey replied (Of course, I know them all in fact my shelf of information on this topic is quite tall.) said Zecora (Well my house has been plagued with a curse that nopony can explain. I was hoping you could tell me something about it.) Kahmey explained. The conversation lasted thirty minutes and Zecora was still unable to understand what kind of curse was terrorizing the canine before her.
(Kahmey, perhaps if you could get me some footage or sound from this curse I may be able to give you the answer you seek and no longer will you have to look around.) Zecora concluded
So Kahmey went back to Ponyville and stopped by a shop and picked up some video cameras, he then went home and set them up. (There, hopefully this will pick up some footage of whatever kind of curse this is.) Kahmey said setting up the final camera. He went to bed and the night was horrible. He had the worst nightmare any creature could possibly experience. Some unknown creature was chasing him through the everfree forest, whatever it was, was catching up to him and was about to pounce. Princess Luna finally picked up on Kahmey’s nightmare and interfered. Princess Luna immediately knew what was going on.
(Kahmey, I know what has plagued your home, but I will have to tell you what’s going on during the day. Your nightmare has been neutralised for tonight, but I’m sure it will continue right where it left off every night and if we don’t take care of this soon, you will be doomed.) Princess Luna said (Okay I will see you in the morning I guess, your majesty.) Kahmey replied. Luna went back to her station and Kahmey was peaceful the rest of the night.
Morning had come and Kahmey was woken by his front door opening.
(Kahmey, I’m here to talk to you about what is torturing you.) said Princess Luna Kahmey walked down the stairs and Princess Luna told him to go finish waking up. Kahmey went into the Kitchen and cooked up some pancakes, Princess Luna was alerted by the smell of the wonderful pancakes. (Kahmey, is it possible for me to get some of those?) Princess Luna asked (Sure I’ll make you some as well.) Kahmey said putting some more mix in the skillet. When he got the pancakes done the two sat down at the table to eat the pancakes Princess Luna asked Kahmey what else had been going on besides the nightmare. (Well other than the nightmare which was the only one so far. I’ll start from the very beginning, I was cleaning in my library and was being pulled to the very back, I resisted the force and cleaned until I reached that point. When I got to the back, I walked up to a certain point and felt a very strong ambiance of danger coming from an area in the wall, I didn’t know what to think of it but later on I took my sovereign sword and tore up the wall and there was a door. I didn’t know why the a false wall had been made there but when I walked through the door, it led to another room and in that room, there was a gramophone and a book, the book turned out to be a diary and on the diary there was an emerald. When I opened the book the gramophone started playing the record that was on the turntable.) Kahmey said in shaky tone (Did anything else happen that day? Because if my suspicions are correct then you are in danger and we will have to take care of this soon.) Princess luna said in frightened tone. (Well yeah, later after I showed the book to Princess Twilight, I went home and made me a cucumber sandwich but never got to eat it because music started playing out of nowhere.) said Kahmey (What were the words of this song?) Princess Luna asked (Mary Mary quite contrary how does your garden grow.) Kahmey said and instantly being interrupted (Kahmey, we need to get out of here now and take care of this when we have more ponies to take care of it. I will get Twilight and her friends together with the elements of harmony, I will also have to get Star Swirl involved, since this curse dates way back before me and my sister were born.) Princess Luna quickly said and the two very quickly got out of there. (What is this curse your majesty?) Kahmey asked (It’s not a prosperity curse like my sister told me you thought, it is much worse. This curse is a banning curse, it activates later after one moves into the home and when it does, it’s an if you won’t leave then it’s game on situation.) Princess Luna said in fear. (Well how are we gonna stop this curse then?) Kahmey asked (We will need Twilight Sparkle, her friends and Star Swirl the bearded for that.) Princess Luna said in hopes of getting Kahmey’s home cleared of the horrible curse. Kahmey went and told Zecora that she no longer needed to help with it. Princess Luna went and got Star Swirl while Kahmey stopped at Twilight’s castle and told her that he needed her and her friends.
(What do you need us for?) Princess Twilight asked (I need you six because my house has been cursed with a banning curse. Princess Luna told me how bad it is and we need you six to join together with us so we can rid my home of this curse, Princess Luna has already gone to get somepony named Star Swirl and we need y’all and the elements of harmony to stop this curse.) said Kahmey (Well if Star Swirl the bearded is gonna be there I can’t resist.) said Twilight
So the six ponies joined together with Kahmey and made their way to the outside of the house. When Princess Luna got there with Star Swirl they all knew that they were about to face something beyond their knowledge, luckily Princess Celestia arrived with the elements of harmony in her saddle bag. (Okay y’all be careful in there, who knows what this curse can do to you all.) said Princess Celestia (Yes it is beyond it’s weak level so beware.) said Princess Luna (Aren’t you gonna assist us?) Kahmey asked (No, I only went and got Star Swirl and my sister only went to get the elements of harmony. We can do nothing further.) said Princess Luna (Come now, we have a lot to do. Our best bet would be to start our battle at night.) said Star Swirl (What battle? I thought curses didn’t have a physical form.) Kahmey asked (Banning curses like this one are different. This one in particular is controlled by a demon I faced before. It’s name is Salazar and it has power beyond belief. We will have to weaken it before we can banish it.) said Star Swirl (Salazar? That’s an unusual name.) said Twilight. (This demon’s origins are unknown and it’s appearance will be a skeleton unicorn. When I faced it I was put in an infirmary, I was there for at least five moons.) said Star Swirl
The seven ponies and the devil dog went inside the mansion and readied themselves for the worst. When Princess Celestia lowered the sun and Princess Luna brought the moon out they made their way to the library, when Kahmey opened the door to the staircase they were all hit with the same ambience that Kahmey had felt before. They entered the library and Star Swirl used his horn to produce some light. Kahmey pick up his sovereign sword and case and put it on his side. He showed them to the door where the activity was.
(This is the room where the activity started.) said Kahmey (Then we shall enter.) said Star Swirl (But what if we’re attacked right when the door opens?) said Fluttershy in fear (The it will have to face this sword as a start.) said Kahmey. Star Swirl opened the door. The room appeared to be empty, but knowing how demons work it wasn’t truly empty
(We mustn't let our guards down, this room may appear empty but that can’t be the case. Just like that innocently beautiful door this room is full of negative energy.) said Star Swirl (Well lets just hope the demon attacks first.) said Kahmey (Why would you say that?) Princess Twilight asked (If the demon attacks that means it uses energy and if it uses energy then that’s less energy it has.) Kahmey replied (Good thinking Kahmey but I recommend we make the first attack so that we take some energy before it gives up energy.) said Star Swirl (Good point.) said Kahmey
They ended up hearing a loud voice (Welcome to my humble abode, but y’all made a mistake coming here.) They looked up and it was a Salazar, there was no thinking about it. (It’s Salazar, Twilight ready with the elements, Kahmey prepare your, well that was quick.) said Star Swirl (Way ahead of you, I want this demon gone as soon as possible.) said Kahmey ready with his sovereign blade. (The eight of you are pathetic, y’all think your little weapons can beat me, and you Star Swirl, you’re too old to even think about fighting me.) said Salazar. Kahmey got furious at Salazar for saying that, he activated his flying boots, flew up and sliced off Salazar’s horn.
(Kahmey, you just gave us an advantage.) said Star Swirl (I did?) Kahmey asked (Yes without a horn, Salazar’s actions are limited. What part of his statement provoked you to do that though?) Star Swirl replied (No one and I don’t care if they’re a demon or not, no one disrespects the elders.) said Kahmey. Star Swirl was touched. When Salazar recovered from the loss of his horn, he charged at Kahmey. Kahmey was ready with his sword when Star Swirl used a giant beam of magic to halt the demon. (Open the portal to Limbo.) said Star Swirl. Twilight and her friends managed to open the portal, but Salazar broke loose from Star Swirl’s hold. Kahmey cut his front hooves off. (Take that Salazar.) Kahmey said in anger (Twilight push him towards the portal, if we can get him close enough he will be sucked in.) yelled Star Swirl (Okay girls let’s show this demon what we can do.) said RainbowDash
The battle seemed to last for days but the seven ponies and Kahmey knew it had to be a trick. Kahmey managed to make his way to the back left hoof and cut it off, making it harder for Salazar to walk, unfortunately as a demon Salazar was still able to float. (Why does he still have enough energy?) Star Swirl questioned (One of my books on demons said they can feed off of anger.) said Twilight. Kahmey was filled with anger so they seven ponies knew how Salazar was feeding (Kahmey you need to control your anger, Salazar is feeding off of your anger.) RainbowDash yelled (I’ll try.) said Kahmey (Just think happy thoughts, like the day you made friends with our sisters and Scootaloo.) said Rarity. Kahmey eventually calmed his anger, making it nearly impossible for Salazar to gain strength. Kahmey noticed the Salazar weakening. (Alright girls push him into the portal.) Star Swirl yelled out (He’s still resisting. He’s pushing away from it.) said Twilight. (Y’all will not trap me in there.) Salazar yelled. Kahmey gripped his sword and sliced the final hoof off of Salazar and that’s when Salazar finally began to lose his balance and fall head first into the portal (AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH.) Salazar cried, and then the portal closed trapping him in Limbo. Kahmey kept the horn as a trophy. Unfortunately the dark magic remained but Star Swirl knew a cleansing spell that was able to clear the house of the dark magic and he cast it, the curse was gone and so was it’s controller.
(You all know what this means?) Pinkie Pie asked (Do I have to ask?) Applejack asked. (It means I feel a party coming on.) said Pinkie Pie
The seven ponies and Kahmey had a party the rest of the evening
