"Proud Mary" by Ike and Tina Turner · 2:35am Mar 3rd, 2016

Left a good job in the city
Workin' for the Man every night and day
But I never lost a minute of sleepin'
Worryin' 'bout the way things might have been

[chorus]
Big wheel keep on turnin'
Proud Mary keep on burnin'
Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river

Cleaned a lot of plates in Memphis
Pumped a lot of tane down in New Orleans
But I never saw the good side of a city
'Til I hitched a ride on the riverboat queen

[repeat chorus]

If you come down to the River

Finding Her Voice in No Fault of Her Own · 11:53am Jun 20th, 2015

As a Doctor Who fan, I know his voice. The series was in its first syndication in the US when I first heard his voice on UHF TV and first saw the scarf. Her voice, that I expected to be much harder. But then she spoke, simply and honestly, full of loneliness. I knew how to proceed, first person and personal. About her cutie mark and her pain, and unexpected epiphany.

Sometimes when this happens, I almost want to put the character's name on the by-line.

Should I Ret-Con Part of This? · 7:23pm Aug 16th, 2023

So, I thought of this recently, but because the chapter was uploaded at least a year ago, I wasn't sure if I should ret-con it. Should Time Turner have known Spike was the Prince all along, even before the Twilight and the girls, as well as Lyra and Bonbon came into the picture? Part of why I think he should have known the whole time is because he served in the Royal Navy before retiring and becoming a pirate. Time Turner is an adult, Spike is like 19, so Time Turner would have served when

Dr. Turner's Notes: The Equestrian Confederation · 7:59am Mar 30th, 2018

While this should come as no surprise to anypony that’s picked up a history book, the story of the Founders as told by the ever-popular Hearth’s Warming fable isn’t entirely true to real events. What the Fires of Friendship actually are remain a mystery (not to me, of course, but that’s none of your concern if you’re reading this and you aren’t me), as only Clover the Clever is said to have been conscious to see them awaken. Some say the Fires were a literal flame, a spark

A Day in the Life of Smaug · 6:43am Nov 11th, 2016

Wake up at six. Write like mad. Go to school, do said school work, come back to computer after school. Write like mad some more. Go work for six hours. Get back home. Write for a little while longer due to NaNoWriMo. Realize that you're up at midnight, typing a story about griffons and ponies, in an empty room long after family has gone to bed. Realize that you have another five/six hour shift of work tomorrow, followed by couching at a friend's house due to work, then going to work for a

Dr. Turner's Notes: The History of Time Travel · 8:08pm Apr 1st, 2018

While there exist a great many stories written about time travel and its philosophical, theoretical, and social implications, very few have ever done any serious kind of research into how time travel actually works in reality. This is completely understandable, as traveling backwards in time is an extremely rare form of magic, to the point where most consider it impossible.

Muffins! (aka Derpy aka Ditzy-Doo) · 6:55pm Jun 21st, 2015

My fifth story is up, and my lesson learned is that again, deadlines are a good thing. It is teaching me to be creative on a schedule, and in the world of publishing, you have to complete stories and sell them.

I am quite proud of No Fault of Her Own. It took plenty of thought about Muffin's character to be able to channel the essence of her personality and purpose in life. Both her story and the title came to me both within the same five minutes.

Dr.Whooves is getting a River Song · 2:14am May 22nd, 2016

So I noticed this almost imidiately when I saw the new episode. I'd love to see a River Song Rarity character in a fic here on Fimfic. I think she would make a perfect addition to the Dr.Whooves headcanon I don't have.

Anyways, have fun with this!

Dr. Turner's Notes: High vs. Low-Density Multiverses · 9:19am Mar 1st, 2018

Throughout the infinitely large body of existences collectively known as time streams, no form of magic is as frequently powerful as harmonic energy, perhaps single most powerful form of magic to exist in this or any reality. For this reason, harmonic energy in many multiverses takes the form of an abstract, godlike consciousness, though to call Harmony a deity in these cases would be a vast understatement, as the power of such an entity greatly surpasses even that of gods.

Paranormal Activity (2007, 2009) · 8:36am Mar 5th, 2016

Is it just me or is it strange that there exists an I love you balloon that has Tina Turner singing Simply the Best but to get the song to play you have to smack the balloon? I'm not saying that it's a first I'm just saying that in a store that sells the Mustache Wiggler Love Monkey and Brad's Kale Vampire Killer Chips it's a little unusual. Then again today was a little unusual.

Review: Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985) · 6:05am Nov 25th, 2015

George Miller's third entry in his iconic Mad Max franchise is possibly the most unabashedly cheesy entry in the series, yet still manages to find its place among the likes of the far more visceral Mad Max, The Road Warrior, and Fury Road. In what was really the first properly budgeted Mad Max film, Miller, and his co-director George Ogilvie hype the franchise up to it's extremes, going bigger, louder and hammier, and in many ways, that's what gives it it's own, uniquely
