Alright, I think it's time I made a little announcement, here. Some of you may have already figured it out, since I haven't exactly made it difficult to do. A few people who are close to me know, but I never said anything about it in public. Time for that to change.
Yup, that's right, old Bootsy writes dirty pony pornos. Surprised? Some of you may have already figured it out, since I haven't exactly made it difficult to do. Really, I actually dropped hints in stories to see if anyone would catch on, so this may not come as a surprise, especially since both my accounts share a few followers. Hell, some of my stories there and here actually share the same continuity.
At first, I'll admit, I scorned the stuff. Clop sent me running for the hills at the mere sight of it. Eventually, I got over that and investigated the stuff. I can't know if it's really bad if I never see it, right? That's how I got into this fandom, after all. Turns out I'm not into the stuff after all, which wasn't a surprise, but I still dabble in it a bit, and some explicit stories are actually really well written. These days, I just see it as another kind of porn. I don't have a problem with porn unless it actually hurts somebody (without consent), so I see no problem with clop. It's just harmless fantasy erotica. You think cloppers really go out and have sex with horses? Come on.
Okay, maybe a few do, but it's gotta be a pretty small minority.
Anyway, once I read some, it was inevitable that I would eventually see if I could write the stuff. I like trying new genres, after all. Reception was good, so I kept doing it. I don't write it much, though, so don't expect a huge library of the stuff.
Don't like pony porn? That's totally cool. Just keep following me here, and you'll never see this account publish any. Though, if I collab on some, you may see blogs about that. I think that'll be rare, though, and you can always just ignore them. I can never see myself doing this. Ever. I'd been trying and constantly forgetting to proofread someone's clopfic, so it's not like I can skim the details, and it's human porn, too. Like, with the Dazzlings. Plus, the very idea of sexual intercorse with ponies I find a bit unsettling. Plus, if I did, then I'd have to write about big, hairy, horse dick. Ugh, makes me wanna vomit a little.
I don't get the problem with writers creating a new account for clop stories. I consider it a cowardly practice that's only done to avoid scorn and hate that will come to the fics you write but the thing is this will come anyways.
I also scorn tactics like creating a whole new story just to put your "cloptional" chapters in. I am one of the people that thinks bodily touch and sexual encounters is integral to romance and bonding. I am also against "cloptional" chapters for the same reason especially in romance stories because it basically says that love and sex are different things. They can be but that's not always the case. In any case to those that think romance and clop don't mix... you're wrong.
All in all I don't hate you for this but in all honesty if you want to write clop stories or romance stories with clop or romantic clop you don't have to do it on a different account as if you're a thief.
As to those that unfollow authors because they happen to write clop among their other kind of stories... this... is... wrong. I get that you have your own tastes but if some story is going to be clop or something then you will get it by the tags and you don't have to read it. And to those that bash on people because they write clop or because their favorite author "fell" and wrote clop shame on you.
That's my two bits.
This was discussed earlier in Skype with some friends and all in all this was my opinion. I don't care if it's a fad of great writers,to my mind it still sounds like a useless mouse and cat chase which we all know how it's going to end. Believe me I know how the feeling goes when writing or clop rping I've been there, I've done it and after a few tries the shame goes away and you're left with a stupid question...
Why did I even feel bad about this?
So here's my question for you. Why did you feel the need to sneak around and create a clop account instead of uploading this here? Did you think people would think less of you because of what you write? They know now anyways... so what's the difference?

Why did I do it under a separate account? Cowardice is exactly it, though not for the reason you mentioned. I had never written a story any real sexual content before, and I had no idea if I could do it at all. So, I experimented under a separate account, just in case I was horrifically awful at it. After the initial test went well, I kept going, and publishing it over there just turned into a habit. It even became a bit of a game, seeing if anyone would realize it was me.
Yeah, that's pretty much where I am right now, hence this announcement. I don't seem to suck, so I don't see a reason for shame. Plus, these days, I don't actually care much about my reputation. The account is from a time when things were a bit different for me. I won't really defend my prior actions, but they are what they are, and that's how I'm gonna have to live with it.
And as for romance clop, that's actually the kind of clop I like to write. I like romantic, sweet, true-to-life feeling stuff that has some substance to it. Some romance stories are actually strengthened by sex. I was gonna mention more in the blog, but I didn't want to make a huge deal out of it and publish a wall of text covering everything.

To each their own, man. And honestly, yeah, the thought of having sex with ponies is more than a bit gross. But, so far, I just don't write human x pony stuff, so that hasn't been an issue.

Actually, wait, I think I have more to say.
On the subject of "cloptional" chapters, that really depends on the story. If it was always a mature story, then yeah, why not just put them in? But if it wasn't, that changes things. If it was Teen rated throughout, with the Teen rating tag and no indication of going further, and then the author suddenly changes it to Mature and puts clop in? That's different. That's almost a bait-and-switch maneuver. And besides that, some stories can be enhanced by sex, yes, but not all of them. Sometimes, moving into a graphic sex scene doesn't fit with the story and breaks the flow. In such cases, I would actually recommend considering optional side stories for extra content that doesn't really work within the confines of the story, for whatever reason that the author feels like writing them. And sometimes, the author may have already finished a story and later wanted to add sex scenes, but again, that would change the rating. I dunno about you, but when I'm reading an in-progress story and the author suddenly swaps out tags and the expected content of the story changes (which I've seen happen), I feel alienated and kinda tricked. I'd rather not do that to my audience.
Hell, I almost did this very thing for Daring Do Takes a Bubble Bath. Someone suggested that they'd been hoping for it to end in banging, and I kinda liked the idea, but I didn't feel it would fit the rest of the story at all (which was a silly Teen comedy). Thus, a sexy sequel would be in order.

Well I've been exposed to the wrong kind for so long that I gave the entire genre scorn. I eventually found some who actually could use techno music the right way.
