I get really sick of hearing that notion and concept.
"Heroes do it because it's right!"
"They can live on satisfied feelings that they did a good job"
"They don't do it to get rewarded"
...You know what I say to that, "You're no hero, you're just a chump for people to take advantage of." (an Idiot)
But, then again, I can use this ignorance of the people to my advantage...
I usually use the Hero's Journey as a structural guideline rather than being super literal about it, but I was looking at the chart and thinking about the story, and I'm like, "this sure seems like a good time for a meeting with a Goddess and a confrontation with a Father". So that's what I did.
May we never forget their sacrifice, nor forbear to give them the honour due.
May we ever remember that we live because they died.
And on this solemn day, may we recall their noble deeds.

People keep putting me down for the way I treat fictional superheroes and turn them into emos and stuff.
Well #1: They are cartoons, I can do anything I want to the, (Especially if I don't like what they are and am sick of running into such things everywhere I go in fiction)
#2: When it comes to fan-fiction, just like anyone else, I CAN DECIDE what I like/dislike for myself.
Made the following changes to the seasonal waifus on my userpage:
*Hero was on the combat simulator, planning out which simulator he was gonna be doing. He been wanting to test his reflexes, so that was what he was gonna be doing*
“So, how are you doing this?”
*Holding two sabers, one yellow, the other blue* “Simple. With help from a song. I’ll time my swings with the beat.”
“If you say so.”
“Please just be safe!”
"Hey guys! What's going on?"
'Oh, hey Melody, we were just going to-"
"Eeek!" *runs*
"Uh...what was that about?"
"I'll go get her-"
"No! No, it's fine, I just, uh, remembered I have...an assignment for Generosity class...see you two later."
"Um, okay?"
So, I decided to turn a couple of comments into a skit. I’m bored, okay? Also, for context, it takes place after this. Also, please, no hate. This is only for entertainment purposes. If I hear you giving hate to this user, I will find you and personally show you the ninth circle of hell.
“Sooo have you apologized to Ocellus yet?“
“Doubt it.”
“So, you know your way back?” Thorax asked as he and the others trudged their way through the barren wastelands.
“It’s a village called ‘Maplewood’. We’re about halfway there,” Hero responded.
“Perfect. We’ll just drop him off and have one less mouth to feed,” Pharynx deadpanned, earning a firm nudge from his younger brother.
The group immediately froze when they heard what sounded like a faint rumbling noise, which they quickly realized was coming from the ground beneath them.
