Heroes don't get rewarded

I get really sick of hearing that notion and concept.

"Heroes do it because it's right!"

"They can live on satisfied feelings that they did a good job"

"They don't do it to get rewarded"

...You know what I say to that, "You're no hero, you're just a chump for people to take advantage of." (an Idiot)

But, then again, I can use this ignorance of the people to my advantage...

So heroes don't do it to get rewarded eh? Okay, let's make a hero not get rewarded for ANYTHING AT ALL! Let's make them just say "Happy to have done it" or "I don't need it. The work is my reward" things like that.

-How are you going to buy food?
-How are you going to afford a home?
-How can you make friends?
-How can you be accepted into humanity?

You said... "Heroes don't do things to be rewarded"

Being paid money (Even at your normal job) can be interpreted as "reward" (You work hard, you get REWARDED/PAID with money)

Having friends and being accepted can be considered "REWARDING"

and NOOOOOO... You're not Superman being Normal Clark Kent. You're not Spiderman being Normal Peter Parker having a life in between heroics. Nope, you're a hero (Period) and "Heroes don't do it to get rewarded."

"They can live off satisfied feelings of accomplishment or helping someone."

Well, see how far it gets you now!

-You have no home
-No food
-No money to afford either
-No friends
-No acceptance
-Whatever you do have, people just take from you and disrespect you in every degree.

...Being a hero and not accepting Rewards, and not being accepted or understood is no good.

"Being a hero just doesn't Pay well, It's YOU you have to pay it!"

...That's how I like to see it.

Being a hero, or even gaining your super powers and responsibility-- it's not a gift, it's a curse.

*An Armed Bank shiftier* "This isn't a good job... this sucks! You put your ass on the line for someone else's money!"

even Noufumi (Rising of the Shield) sick and tired of being mistreated, looked down upon, set up... he's willing to throw away his shield and renounce helping anyone, willing to let them all die (But he can't because he's cursed to be a hero, and cursed to endure the suffering)

That's the darkness and shame I use for more inspiration, and I like that way.

Masquerade (Yugioh E-quest): "I go our of my way, nearly getting myself killed to save your asses, and what do I get in return-- you disrespect me, you conspire against me, you don't even show the slightest of gratitude, and more importantly than that, you keep trying to take away the things that are dear to me, my dignity included, and you expect me-- No, you demand I "move on" and "get over it" only for you to continue robbing me of everything, and showing the slightest bit of emotion earns me more scorn.

I'm through being pushed around! I'm sick and tired of being taken advantage of, and I'm especially done with all of you Titans and you people using me to make yourselves look good.

I don't want to save people anymore. For all the disrespect you've given me, for all the pain and suffering you've inflicted on me-- you all deserve to have whatever trouble comes your way!

From now on, I look out for #1, that means me!"

And it also serves to help me HIT MY MARK (Get where I want the story to go) "Make them stop being a hero."

So I rest my case, and even by everyone's logic "You don't do it to get rewarded"

My point proven! "Being a hero doesn't pay you well. It's YOU that pays IT"

Even if being a hero means you don't have to rewarded, that doesn't mean you have to be punished too. But you if you truly believe in "Not getting a little reward here and there" well then, "You don't want to be rewarded...? Then you'll be punished."

End of story. "Heroes don't get rewarded"
