[Rant] AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! · 11:11pm Sep 22nd, 2016

YOU FUCKING WOT, MATE?!?! :rainbowlaugh:

Do I even have to explain why this is a horrible idea? I mean, c'mon YouTube! Okay, if you didn't get what this video was about (honestly, I wouldn't blame you), here's the 411:

Basically, YouTube is rewarding people who add subtitles to other videos, help other YouTubers out, and flag other videos. What this means is YouTube is apparently prompting us to go out there and cause as many bullshit copyright strikes as possible and get as many YouTubers off the website as they can. Y'know, the same YouTubers that MAKE YOUTUBE'S MONEY.

YouTube... real talk?

Do you even have any idea what this will do to not only your profit, but your reputation as well?

It seems like today that every single company is going right down the shitter. EA and Ubisoft was always on a downwards incline, but Konami took a major kick to the balls when they fired Kojima and basically ruined their reputation. And the only reason why we forgive Nintendo for what it does all the time (i.e. DMCAing Pokemon Uranium and AM2R, constantly doing shady business behind our backs, mistranslating various games for western consumers) is that Nintendo still puts out great games... most of the time, and makes us hyped for new consoles... most of the time.

YouTube is going down that same shitter if they keep this up. I can already see hundreds of YouTubers moving away from the site and choosing something else, like that new Netflix Direct (I think that's what it's called) or something, and if it gets REALLY bad then I can see YouTubers like jacksepticeye, Markiplier, Smosh and even PewDiePie moving away to a new site.

But you know what one of the major reasons this is happening is? The YouTube company seems so inclined to using robots and programs to do its work that it forgets that human interaction is VITAL to actually getting shit done. Robots are awesome, don't get me wrong! But they only do what their programmers tell them to do, which means they can't say "Hi, how can I help you?" and keep a long conversation going regarding your issues.

This new "YouTube Heroes" crap is no different. YouTube doesn't want to get off their lazy asses and actually talk to someone. They just want computers to do it, which means YouTube - 1, YouTubers - 0. And worst of all, they probably KNOW about our woes. There's no possible way they can't! Hundreds, if not THOUSANDS of videos regarding them and their antics are on their own goddamn site, which means they have been ignoring us and going about their day normally. This disgusts me to no end.

You dun fucked it up, YouTube.

Everyone please spread the word. We can't let YouTube keep getting away with bullshit like this. We don't want random people that can flag our videos on a whim with no warning, and we don't want to wait months and months and months waiting for a YouTube bot to reply to our concerns and questions. We want human interaction! We want people to talk to in order to sort things out immediately!

We want the old YouTube back!

Anyway, that's my rant for the day. Until then!

They seriously dropped the ball on this...

The video has the comments disabled BECAUSE of the negativity...They fucked up bad.

I like being able to make subtitles for people maybe with hard of hearing or they speak another language. But for the rest, yeah I don't get it.

The whole copyright thing means I can't write my story because I can't find the first few episodes of the show I'm crossing over with. But I do agree with pokefreak13 about the subtitle bit.

Yep, no argument here. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if people start flying away from YouTube. So much for "do whatever your heart desires on this site".

I would like to clear something up that actually makes this thing worse. The truth of the matter is... you could already add subtitles to a video before this whole fiasco happened. Only now you get "hero points" or some shit like that.

Right, because the best person to trust to be a fair and objective moderator is the average YouTube commenter. :ajbemused:

4222064 Oh I know that. By the way, know any sites I might be able to use for free? I really want to write this thing.

This is some messed up shit
