By some distance my favourite Fox Brothers episode, although that's not saying a lot. I'm not always a huge fan of Discord eps (I've never much cared for "Three's a Crowd") but this one was really nice. Sweet, simple and amusing, and with a really nice portrayal of Discord and Fluttershy's friendship. Talking of 'Shy, it's really nice to see her get a good ep after the meh of "Fluttershy Leans In". Altogether, a high ★★★.

A pretty entertaining episode this week. Very predictable at times, but the journey was fun enough that knowing the destination didn't really matter. I'm not generally a great fan of romance in FiM, but Big Mac and Sugar Belle are a cute couple. The CMC subplot was amusing, too. ★★★, but a high one. Update: upgraded to ★★★★ after a second watch.

I have a theory about season 9 but It could just be from being awake too long with too many Monster Coffees.

The final scene of season 8 was Cozy Glow being dropped offnext to Tirek in Tartarus and her first words to him were very ominous to me.

Well, that's it then. What a journey it's been. I got into the show in December of 2011, in the middle of season 2. Not right at the beginning, but close. Certainly close enough that most of the last decade of my life has been consumed by pony. And certainly that's not going to change for the foreseeable future, but this show was such a big part of everything. I'm not sure what I'm going to do now, this is my only real fandom. Horrible title pun aside, I enjoyed this one, despite one character being unbearable almost throughout. The main reason I liked it was that they did something both interesting and believable with Fluttershy -- something they couldn't possibly have done in the early days. This is based on a single watch-through, but I liked today's episode a good deal. It was more successful than several Season Six episodes in blending a traditional FiM feel with modern canon. As a real-life racing fan, I was hoping to have a lot of fun with this episode. Sadly, I didn't. I didn't hate it, and there were some nice touches, but too many things rubbed me up the wrong way. It didn't really seem to end properly, either. I enjoyed Ed Valentine's own "Flight to the Finish" way more than this. ★★
