That’s right. No Being a Better Writer post this week due to Martin Luther King day. Which means I’m spending the day working on Hunter/Hunted, actually. Why take a break? Besides, that one’s almost done. Which then means Halo novel, and then Jungle!
For all of you who've bought my book, I've just gone through and made a few edits. Mainly any grammar and spelling problems that I missed at first. The update probably won't through for a couple of days, but if your kindle (or whatever you download) updates, you'll know why. If you just downloaded the .epub, no kindle whatsoever, you'll probably have to re-download to get the updates.
If I write an original book, with my own thoughts and direction, would you all like to read it when it comes out? I would like some feedback to it, because I’ll be publishing it when it’s finished in a year or so.
What would you say about that?
I have officially published my first book, A Goldfish for a Golden Princess. I hope that you all like it, and shall be writing a sequel soon if that's what all of you guys want! Thank you everyone!
Exciting news for me. I finally finished the book I've been writing since the end of 2016. (I did take a 1.5 year hiatus in the middle.) It's my first full length novel, clocking in at 92k words. It feels like a significant personal accomplishment because I've never been able to weave a story over 40k without it stagnating or becoming riddled with filler. I've been trying to write a 'real book' by my definition for 14 years and this is the first time it feels like I actually pulled it off.
- I'm really lucky to get opportunity to release first of my books as audio-book. It not English, but still it's a big step to make story more friendly for future readers or listeners. Before it was only one short story. Need to test how good auto-translation works with it...
List your top ten favorite books, the ones you can name off the fingers of one hand, and I'll wager they all have a memorable hero.
Regardless of the genre, your characters should act like genuine people who make errors, regret them, and develop emotionally or spiritually over the novel. Failure is evident.
Although some accomplished authors make it seem simple, this is a talent that requires practice.
Where do these months go?
Because other methods fail, I've started measuring time in uni assignments. The next hand-in is in ... three? Four? Five weeks time? The term papers are soon after that. Probably weeks, maybe months. I should really check, but it gives me two elastic, inexact units of time to work with. Better than months.
On today's agenda, two much-delayed links to others' works, and one status update. Let's get the words-on-words out of the way first.
This one comes to us by the way of the spectacular LimeyPony
Readers, I am now officially back! Back at posting (Patreon post about fishing coming fast!), back at editing (Colony is aiming at an October release, so time to get my work in gear), and back home (Ah, computer desk, how I have missed you). The trip home occurred almost without a single hitch ... and that lone hitch was an inexplicable case of my luggage somehow teleporting on ahead of me and arriving a full twelve hours before I did (I suspect a secret shadow flight that my bag
Why I didn't know about this before?! I need to read that book.
In other news, I should be searching for an editor by the end of the week for a new story in the making
Technically my last post was also about BronyCon, but oh well. Blogging with any rhyme or reason has never been my strength, and at least this means I'm blogging too much versus not enough for a change?
If you'll be at BronyCon on Thursday, come check out the panel I'm on with bookplayer and Epic Yarn!
Chaos and Cuddles: Writing About Children and Families
A little while ago I was contacted by someone with a request to do an audio-book version of The Longest Night. I was rather reluctant as I didn't really think that anything I've written is good enough to have made into an audio book. But, who was I to tell someone what they could or could not do? So I said that it was alright by me, and to just give me the link so I could add my limited voice to provide what signal boost I could.

Hey guys. Just an update on my posting routine.
I have multiple chapters on my other laptop. I will post a new chapter every now and then when I have a wi-fi connection or anything like that.
Posting might be slow at times, but I assure you that I have not forgotten about anything or any of you. I will keep my book updated as much as I can.
