A new project, and an explanation!

    Hey folks,

Alternate title for this blog post: I'm Doing a Thing (and I'm looking for help)

I don't think anyone is surprised that my pony writing has been on a bit of a hiatus for a while, and my presence on this site is mostly to lurk-and-read rather than finish my long-delayed stories. What you might not know, though, is what I've been doing instead of pony writing.

Books for the Book Throne · 1:23pm Jun 17th, 2019

So I'm like a week late to this party, but!

Yes! I will have a real, physical, book at the Golden Oaks Bookstore, as described in this blog post by our very own national treasure, RBDash47. The bookstore is a collaborative effort put together by Aquaman to help make this last Bronycon the best one yet. I plan to have a decent number available for sale at whatever the publisher's unit cost ends up being, and I'll have more available for order after the 'con.

If you're interested, head on over to THIS SURVEY HERE to help us gauge interest and know how many books to have available. And while you fill out the survey, consider how much fun you'll have reading Completely Safe Stories, A Collection, which comes with these amazing features:

  • 459 pages of fan-favorite stories! (and also The Archetypist)
  • A Forward by the inimitable GaPJaxie!
  • Never-before seen cover art!
  • Wait, what do you mean, the cover art's at the top of this blog post? Ah, dammit.
  • A Table of Contents, like in fancy books
  • Integer-based page numbers!*
  • And most important, my love for this fandom

I hope to see everyone at Bronycon, and don't forget to fill out that survey! If you're not going to be at Bronycon and want a copy, send me a private message and I'll set one aside for you. Pricing to follow!

*Page numbers on most pages. Not responsible for pages without page numbers. Page numbers were assembled manually by factory workers in Zhengzhou, China, paid a fair wage. Do not attempt to use page numbers to tabulate mathematical operations. Not responsible for injuries or losses due to mathematical errors caused by the use of these page numbers. Can you let me know how many copies you think you'll make so I can put that number in the survey.

Oh, yes I definately want a copy! I look forward to meeting you!

Ok, that brings me up to *seven* of the darned things. So glad I'm not flying. I won't be able to complain that the wife is loading down the car with rocks this time. It will be loaded down with books.

Out of curiosity, will there be any way of getting copies if we aren't able to attend the Con? I'd really like one, if possible.

Yes, I'll have a separate batch for mailing out to people who want a copy.

I hope to see everyone at Bronycon

As in -- you'll be there? That's exciting!

I know I will be but one of many fans swarming you, but I am genuinely excited to finally meet you in a month and a half.

What’s the story behind the title?

Oh, fuck yeah, you're coming this year? Glad to hear it!

The footnote aint higher math.

Sum(inf)e^i*pinkie=pi is higher math.

But thats something Pinkie might just make you write as a prank. :pinkiehappy:

Hope you have a good meeting as The Store.

BronyCon 2019. Might be the last, but it aint gonna be the Least.

Fantastic! I'll fill out the survey and hope to have a copy in the future.

Two more quick questions: 1) what stories are included in your book (I'm getting it regardless, but I'd love to know!) and 2) do you have any recommendations for other books on the survey to get? I have my eye on a few already, but I'm not familiar with all the authors and don't have the time to read all of them. I'd rather buy on the recommendation rather than miss out, and I'd trust one of my favorite authors on this site to give a good idea of what's out there, so any suggestions from you (or anyone else reading this) would be appreciated!

Means I'll be able to get you to sign the book! Sweet.

Beautiful cover!

I'm doing a promotional image with a box of ponyfic books in it. May I include your cover?

I'm not sure I get the title, but I look forward to purchasing it.

And to meeting you! You weren't at previous BronyCons, were you?

Damn I wish I could do to the con, parents are weird about 'em and I'm poor for like the next week. Luv the cover art tho:raritystarry: ill probably end up ordering them afterwards.

  • 459 pages of fan-favorite stories! (and also The Archetypist)

I busted out laughing.
A couple of folks got their knickers in a twist.

Oh this is a book I would buy if only for the Glassblower

You know, I think I'll actually order a copy from the second batch. Some things you just want to have in physical form for when the internet moves on. I hope it has pictures.

Oh, the survey is closed. I would love to purchase a copy but I am not going to bronycon sadly.

That's fine. If you want I can arrange to send you one afterward.

Ooo, I'd love to grab a book even though I probably won't be able to attend!
