This week, we’re putting ourselves four degrees away from the source material. It’s a card blog based on a video based on a story based on a song based on FiM. Let’s get going.
This one feels… odd. I’ve met ROBCakeran53 in person, and I know well how much he doesn’t want to be associated with this story. Though, to be fair, you could hardly say that's what we'll be discussing...
So. It turns out there are going to be seventy of these things. And an eight-episode series of full-length 3D episodes. When it rains G5 content, it pours. Time to stick my face back in the firehose.
With Chapter 5 reviewed and Secrets of Starlight still about a month away, I can start addressing the accumulated backlog elsewhere. This week, that means Tell Your Tale shorts. Let’s see what we’re working with.
The Mentally Advanced Series can be thought of as the Pepsi to Friendship is Witchcraft’s Coke; same concept, different execution, each with their supporters. I personally prefer FiW; MAS gets unpalatably cruel over time, especially once it’s no longer shackled to FiM’s visuals. But there is one offshoot, the Schweppes ginger ale of this analogy, where my tastes shift.

My upcoming card blog schedule is going to be a bit muddled in the coming weeks since I'm heading to Everfree Northwest just in time for enough G5 content to aggregate to the point of reviewability. (Yes, the "kinks" in the blog title refer to unexpected changes to my plans. You should be ashamed of yourself. 
) As such, here's what to expect in the near future of FiCG:
I took a look at some of my older works, and found a CCG I came up with a while back. It was something infected my mind a few years ago, feel free to talk ask me more about this project. It’s aesthetic is a mix of steampunk and cyberpunk, with a few cards showing components of both. I came up with the idea back in high school, formalized it a bit during college. I came up with some designs I haven’t seen in any game’s art style, haven’t seen any in any established series either.
I’ve been in this fandom for a long time. About a third of my life at this point (which is its own breed of terror to herald the start of Spooky Season.) And in a few months, I’ll be celebrating ten years of Friendship is Card Games. According to tradition, that’s the tin or aluminum anniversary.
And now you have context for the contest’s subtitle.

So in our last blog for this year, I wanted to discuss a tabletop gaming project that I've been working on.
I was thinking about this idea for a tabletop rpg where instead of rolling dice, players have their own deck of playing cards, with the cards having different effects based off of the characters class, subclass, etc...

Three years and a day ago, I decided to post some cards I'd thought up based on the Season 4 premiere.
Earlier this year, hawthornbunny created a searchable database of brony-made Magic cards, over half of which are now my creations. (When you make a minimum of twenty a week for that long and everyone else is focused on making an actual set, it's kind of inevitable. 
)
Firstly, thank you to everyone who gave me feedback on yesterday's blog. I've decided to go with the first option (which, if you're not reading this in your feed or a considerable time after it's been posted, should be visible in my recent blogs to the right.)
I know, I know, it's a little late for a retrospective blog. Heck, I think it's almost January 2nd just west of the International Date Line. But I wanted to write this both in 2016 and after getting a good night's sleep. Read on for a look back and a look forward, especially if you read the Friendship is Card Games series.

Welp, that was fun, huh? I know for most of you, the season ended earlier thanks to the Australian broadcast, but I didn't have the luxury of checking that out. Also, I'd rather do things by the book.

Didn't plan on making another blog post this month without having a new story to go alongside it, but here we are. This is pretty much going to be a follow up to my post from the third. The main thing I wanted to touch on was that Gingerbread House of Cards is not going to be done by Saturday. I mentioned in the last post I hoped to have it out in about two weeks, and figured it’d be a good idea to explain what’s causing the holdup.
