So, after watching the third Equestria Girls movie and seeing what transpired, a thought occurred to me. Spoilers for that film below, so be warned...
This list is going to be a little tricky since I can't include Gilda, Trixie, Discord, Sunset Shimmer, or Starlight Glimmer since all of them are reformed now and they really can't even make the honorable mentions (except maybe for Starlight, the Season 6 finale cemented Trixie and Discord's reformations and changes to the side of good, Starlight is still up for debate). But anyway, here's the previous
What would you do? Who would you be? What's your plan? How do you want to go about that plan? What's your motivation for doing something as dastardly as that? Would you be in a show, anime, movie, comic or game? List your villain like this:
Name:
Plan:
Completing Plan:
Motivation:
Description:
For example:
Name:
Klaus Hart

Any ideas? Preferably something slow and foreboding.
In light of what was shown to us today, this list definitely needed updating. Not only did a couple of old villains come back, but a brand new one was introduced to us. Because of those changes, this list definitely needed modifying. Chances are that when all is said and done this list will be updated once again. For the time being though, let's see how much of a difference the Season 9 premiere made. Here's the
Who is the hero and who is the villain?
It’s a question as old as time itself. We ask it to ourselves with every book or show or movie we read or watch. Sometimes you get a clear answer. In MLP, it’s always obvious that Tirek or Chrysalis, or Sombra is the villain. It’s spelled in black and white for us much of the time.
But real life isn’t black and white. Real life is a gray area.
I’m starting to make some changes in mind for The Magic Of Sea Mermaids story like having Fluttershy’s Birthday happening but the most important detail I need is a villain. Someone told me there should be a climax in some sort without a redemption arc. For me, I can’t make up a villain on my own and I don’t want to use a villain from FIM and fit them in the Mirror World. It’s not really clever since Silverstream, Princess Skystar and Queen Novo are already part of this, along with other
"Chrysalis, how do you spawn, anyway?"
She didn't blush per se, but she still averted her eyes uncomfortably.
"Why would you ask that of a changeling? What are you, some kind of wierdo?"
"Just curious. But I insist!"
"Same as you ponies, I suppose, but fine." ...
"Watch closely."
I wasn't satisfied with Strong Hoof's design. It felt a little... lacking in sheer intimidation. So, I gave him another go and made a much bigger looking stallion that definitely should live up to his actual description within the story!
And for comparison sake, this is the old design.
The new design has been added to chapter 30 by the way.
... are a mistaken understanding.
Okay, that's a strong statement as a lead-in for today's post, but it has merit! Welcome back to Being a Better Writer, the weekly writing guide post where we discuss, well, writing topics of all kind.
After some of the developments in the first half of Season 8, I feel it's only natural to update the list. There are some things that need to change, and at least one newcomer to consider. Here's the previous version, from the end of Season 7, time to see who moved up, who moved down, who got knocked off, and who got added. As always, this list is purely the result of my personal opinion.
With a season having come and gone, it's time to look at the villains again and see what's changed. We actually didn't really get a lot of new villains this season, major or minor, we just had the one (Daybreaker doesn't count, since we have no idea whether she's just a vision or an actual separate entity). Here's the previous version, from the end of Season 6. Let's see who moved up, moved down, who got knocked
Everything I Needed To Know About Life, I Learned From Supervillains
is an awesome blog post by PJ Eby, author, self-improvement guru, & LessWrongian, on his blog, DirtSimple.org . I can't improve on it; I'll just quote part of it:
In the movies, the villains typically:
I held off on doing this list until now because I thought "Rainbow Roadtrip" at least was going to debut a new antagonist, but it didn't (which is not necessarily a bad thing, you can have a compelling story without needing an antagonist) and the new villains in "Sunset's Backstage Pass" were so forgettable even by twist villain standards, so there was no point in adding them to the list. So we're back to villains that have already existed or been established, no newcomers. And considering
