I’m going to extend the practice of canon statement combing to chapter books as well. Mostly because I can. I generally ignore them, because they are usually even less in tune with the primary canon than comics – I only have that much glue to hold it together. The Journal is kind of an exception because of how important it is.

But maybe, just maybe, at least some of them can be exploited for more dramatic opportunities…

Billy and Jacob are supposedly at Bella’s house to watch a game on TV with Charlie, since their own TV is broken (although Jacob’s partly there because Billy can’t drive; he’s confined to a wheelchair). During the visit, Bella’s constantly afraid that Billy will tell Charlie about Edward, but he doesn’t. Jacob flirts slightly with Bella, and they leave once the game’s over. That was a whole lot of nothing.

Let it be known that I’m not a big fan of vampires. I don’t hate them, they’re just sort of “meh” to me. And since I don’t care about them, I don’t mind changes to the formula all that much as long as they don’t stray too far from the base. If they don’t drink blood, for example, they better depend on something else. Emotions? Yeah, emotion-eating vampires are fine.

That being said, there’s no way to make sparkling vampires not stupid.

Back in April we decided to with-hold the remaining 4 chapters till we were closing upon book 3's release.
Back in March we lost a person very close and dear to me, making all progress slow and hard to push though. I still cry for him every week and toast a Sarsaparilla to his name.

I binge watched all 10 episodes of Book 4 and I can't believe it's already over. It was fairly good, though it didn't feel like a series finale as creator Owen Dennis said he didn't intend it to be the final season. I will tell you my thoughts about it and the series as a whole in a few days.

Okay, so the bad news is there’s no normal weekend post today.

But that’s because I’m hard at work on finishing the Jungle Alpha. There are only a couple of chapters left, and then I’ll make the final blitz pass on Monday to finish off any loose ends (ie areas that I fixed that were awaiting feedback that got it, I just had already moved on to another chapter, etc). Once that is done …
