For those of you who don't know, Lulu is the self-publishing company that many of us are doing our Bronycon Bookstore books on. It's a bit arcane with some fiddley bits, which I'll whine about below the break (with a sneak peek at drafts of the printed version)
Got back my ‘proof’ copy of The One Who Got Away/Drifting Down the Lazy River today, opened it up to great excitement… Then saw the first typo. And the second. And third. And the page numbers are *all* on the right side (instead of r/l/r/l) And I’m still not quite sure if the ‘gutter’ is in the center or the edge of the paper. And… Well, that’s about it, really. I’m sure JK Rowling thought much the same when she unpacked her first copy of Harry Potter (only with far less money involved

Man, I really shouldn't have locked myself into such an awkward title theme for blogs about the Bookstore. Bit late now, I suppose.
(FYI: I just emailed this same info out to everyone I have on my mailing list for Bookstore participation, but posting it here as well just in case I missed anyone.)
If there is anything that makes me regret using so many footnotes, it is putting together a dozen plus of my stories for printing. FYI: This will be the third book I plan on bringing, provided my sanity lasts that long. Many thanks to katiepox at DeviantArt for allowing me to use her 'Sisters' for the cover art (below), to Bad Horse who allowed me to use two of his short stories, and to about a thousand editors who helped sort out the collection
Ordered my proof copy to see just how my formatting looks on The One Who Got Away/Drifting Down the Lazy River. So in about 2 weeks, I'll know roughly where I stand and what I need to go back and fix in the Word primary document. (and I fixed *two* typos while making this last pass.) So we're getting there. Ok, I’ve got a couple of questions for the Bronycon Bookstore setup, and the One Who Got Away/Drifting Down the Lazy River book I’m putting together for it.
First, should I use a real picture of myself or find something on the internet like a computer-generated face? Because I’ve got a face that was made for radio, and a voice destined for print media.
That’s ok. I have questions too, and I’ve been through the process several times now. Anyway, I got a question by email, and rather than send a response to *one* person, I thought I’d blog it and let everybody see how screwed-up I made the process… I mean what is involved in the technical process of making your own paper book copy.

Ok, I’ve got a question: Since readership peaks during the episode airing period, should I go ahead and publish my incomplete stories when Season 9 starts to air? I did this a couple of years back and called it March Madness, putting out a chapter a day for a whole month. Normally, I hold off until the whole story is complete and edited to a fine gloss, but some of this stuff will take another year to get wrapped up, if then. Here’s what I have:

Yes, it's too late for me to get this into the Bronycon Bookstore - Golden Oak Bookstore at Bronycon 2019, BUT my work (and Iisaw's assistance) has scored. Monster in the Twilight and the incomplete sequel, Letters From a Little Princess Monster now has a hardback and paperback version.
The Monster Project is now officially complete. I have received my proof copies (hardback and paperback) of Monster in the Twilight, and Letters From a Little Princess Monster, looked them over, and think they’re about as good as its going to get from my ten thumbs. I also received my copy of Tales of the Sun from Ministry of Image which has In Celestia We

Getting things all set up for my trip to Everfree Northwest next week while working on my Bronycon Bookstore books, and I got to wondering. Will anybody be at EFNW who can’t make it to Bronycon, who also wants a copy of one of the three books (thanks to Iisaw) that I’ve got set up? I think I can wedge 12 copies into my airline luggage and still have underwear space, which would be about 4 copies of each. (cont.)
Made it to Hershey Pennsylvania today, so I’m about two hours out of Baltimore. Depending on where the wife makes me drive on the way there, I should be… noon? Then badge, and books to the bookstore, and figuring out where everything is… So looking forward to this.
