Darker tone was nice and a lot was to be expected since a lot came from The Lost World.

Still the new take was fun

Definitively, a very pretty movie - as long as you don't look at the ponies' eyes; Voicework is great - I really liked Emily Blunt's; and the music is what one would expect; . Yet it somehow doesn't even seem like "MLP:FiM" to me - similar, but not the real deal. Most of the characters felt bland and flat. The story was so-so. I think it was even tamer than the show itself. Maybe they played it too safe.
Overall, Six out of Ten.
