This may seem like a silly question, but I can't seem to find a good horse pun for William Shakespeare's name. I know I've seen them around and in other stories. It's just eluding me at the moment.

Can anyone help me out?

>implying any horse pun is a good one

2324218 Fillyam Shakespeare? I dunno lol :applejackunsure:

2324218
To squee, or not to squee... THAT is the question.

Withers Shankspur

2324218 Oddly enough, "Shake Spear" or something might actually work for a legit pony name.:pinkiecrazy:

2324218>>2324227>>2324241 I like these ones. Of course there is the long running line that Shakespeare's plays were written by Francis Bacon (Equestria = Pig with a typewriter)

Fillyam Shirespear (word play on Filly and the Shire breed of English heavy horse). :pinkiehappy:

Happy Writing.

2324228 A pony, a pony, My kingdom for a pony.

2324272>>2324241 Oohh, Good.

Whinnyam Shakesmare.

Now I'm picturing Iron Will Spakespeare.

"To be, or not to be... That be the question, foal."

"Hello, my name's Spear Shaker. But my friends call me Bill."

"Why's your cutie mark a quill and parchment, then?"

He craned his neck around to glance at it, grinning. As he turned back, he shrugged. "What's in a name?"

2324218 just leave it as it is and mess with the spelling

Trying to think of punny play titles...

Reigning of the Shrew?
The Merry Wives of Whinnysor?

Um...:twilightoops:

Twelfth Night could be interesting. I seem to recall someone trying to ponify it on this site with Applejack as Viola and Rarity as Olivia.

Link please! :raritystarry: Unless you don't have one and remember the title only. I just finished watching the movie version today! I read the play too.

I had to do a search for it, but I did manage to find it: Shakespony: Twelfth Night

Based on how MLP names their characters, his name would probably be Play Write or Iambic Quill or something like that. The Pony puns would be with the play names. For example, A midsummer night's dream might be called, "A Regular Night Out." Y'know, because magic is real and fairies aren't exactly far fetched in the MLP-verse.

That first name is great! Can I use that?

I’m sorry. I was looking for puns myself and I saw that one. Should I not have replied? Or maybe I should have PMed instead...

7971814
best not to have replied, especially given that this thread is a whole 11 years old lol.
