Personally, I'm fond of "Terran". It's a science fiction classic.

"Earthling" is a term I'm not fond of. It sounds condescending and besides, it makes me think low budget 50s sci-fi B movies.

Would homo sapiens count?

I've also heard them all called 'Meghans,' but that'd be a stretch for anything that isn't a comedy.

You could go the Fifth Element route and call them 'meat popsicles.'

I was actually thinking of The Moon is a Harsh Mistress when I made that comment. I seem to recall that Lunatic was used as a slightly derisive slang term for people of Lunar extraction. There was also a newspaper mentioned called The Daily Lunatic if I am not mistaken.

That is also a good analogy if there's nothing to compare a human to, since I haven't seen any apes in the MLP series yet. In my story, the human was first described as a fleshy, scale-less dragon.
