...but it seems someone lost count of how many I had in my file. Maybe you can help.
Sparkle's No. 1 Assistant after text.
So this morning I awoke to about forty calls altogether from friends and family in Mexico. Turns out my mom had a sever issue, and is now hospitalized, going to surgery tonight at 7PM local time.
This comes, two weeks after downsizing in my company, which as many of you are aware affected me. I didn't think this was going to be much of an issue since I am a bit more marketable in the US now than I was 7 years ago. My separation package money wise doesn't come until the 30th, and even then I... you know, felt I had time to prepare and search properly for a new job, which I have been doing and intend to continue to do so.
Then one of my tires was destroyed last week, and now I have to replace them all because they're too old. Which. Fine. Fine. Maybe I can get a single old one or something in the meantime, but you know. Stress. I can deal...
THEN USPS LOST MY PASSPORT. Which I paid for Priority Mail so they and I could track it. But it somehow disappeared! One lady at the post office is looking and the other told me to just give up and order a new one. Because $200 is something I can afford to waste, apparently.
And as I mentioned earlier, NOW I wake up and my mom is having surgery that might prove... difficult given her age and general health. I can't just leave, because now I have to beg the government to gimme something to travel with. (They do do that, but good luck getting through to passport services on the phone. ) And of course I'll have to rush a ticket in Summer, because that's the cheapest time to fly to Mexico!
Anyway. Bitterness aside, I was hoping to publish a blog regarding Sparkle's No. 1 Assistant being published as a physical book for you guys to obtain for your personal pony collections. Whatever money I got from it, would have gone towards keeping me afloat if needed, but now it seems it'll have to go to balance my current jobless expenses, tickets, and job-search time.
So here it is!
You can now buy Sparkle's No.1 Assistant for your own!
This book includes:
Original Cover Art
Original Chapter Art
Revised Chapters (Will be updated here as well)*
Some cool Extras:
-The Sunset's Isekai chapter
-Extra News Reports from Equestria
-A teaser for a story that WILL be published here once I have it ready.
*Since they're going to be updated, you won't be seeing SNoA1 appearing on the front page. These are corrections, cleaning typos, etc.
So once again, you can help by buying the book, maybe throwing a coin or two via Kofi or Patreon.
Hang in there.
Losing your passport probably wouldn't have been that bad on its own, but having that happen right before an urgent need to go to Mexico comes up? Damn, that's a kick in the teeth.
I wish you well!
Dang. On the bright side, this means you get a break from crap for a while. Or that's the hope, at any rate.
When it rains, it pours. Good luck on all of it, WD.
sending this energy your way
Christ, dude, you can't catch a break, can you? I hope your mother's surgery goes well. And that things just get easier in general.
Good luck.
No sabía que venías de México, ojalá todo esté mejor Bro, animos y un abrazote
Ooof i feel you. that sucks about the passport, but we're in similar situations a littttle bit. I also lost my job a few weeks ago and needed to get it renewed. I wasn't sure how long by mail would take since some sources say 2 weeks some say longer. So I bought a $30 hotel room in tiajuana to prove i had international travel coming up so i could get an appointment at a federal building, and since my hotel room was 2 days after that they got me my passport next day. Lots of driving, but i have the time so it was technically convenient. However, with a medical emergency you can call and get an appointment very quickly. I assume getting a replacement should be easier than a renewal, but not sure.
I'll pray for you both. If you need more help, don't hesitate to ask please!
Oh. Yikes. I'm sorry you're having to deal with so much at once; good luck.
What's happening to you really sucks and I'm sorry.
I'd apologize for my country but it's not my country anymore (no really, it told me so, and I expect to come home and find my shit piled on the sidewalk any day now).
Anyway booze helps. That's all the wisdom I've got. You're welcome.
If they think you can afford to waste 200$, maybe you can afford to sue them
How's your mom now?
5680184 Fortunately better, but it was horrible not being there when she needed me.
