I had just been stunned by the news. Kody the Ultimate Brony has currently been charged on raping a 12 year old and possibly impregnating her. This had absolutely devastated me and several fellow friends, as we knew and were in fact on good terms with this person. But if a person is guilty of this charge, then he is no person, he is a monster.
I wish to bring awareness to all by this, for the actions of p*dos destroy children. They will have severely damaged self confidence, self worth, and innocence, among other things.

I'll reserve judgement for now. At the moment it's alleged and I have known people wrongfully put through the judicial ringer, even with outstanding exonerating evidence.
But that being said, I agree that anyone who could do that to a child is seriously sick.
And the poor child will carry those scars for the rest of their life.

Allegations are not fact, and the arrest and charges are not proof. Thinking like that sends innocent people to prison all the time, and can even end lives. This isn't a defense of Kody, just reiterating that we don't have the facts of the case, only of the arrest.
What I think is more telling is how those who knew him personally don't seem to be having much trouble believing this of him. Marc mentions signs/red flags, RainbowDash2012 said:

That is certainly possible. The District Attorney (distinctly separate from the court) has a great deal of say in what happens throughout the entire process. And it's another entity that has a say in what happens should he be convicted/take a plea, and let's not forget that the victim and their family have a say in sentencing, even in the plea offered (usually, sometimes prosecution will offer a plea and cut the victim out of the loop.)
And an unfortunate bit of news, it's likely to be years before there even is a trial. Yes he has the right to a speedy trial, but if he wants an effective defense he has to waive that right. A public defender will probably tell him to take the first plea offered, but he could insist on fighting.
I think what's most likely is that he'll get out on pre-trial and (unless he has a juvenile record, particularly with violence. Or if he has nowhere to go.) and be stuck waiting for years. Statistically speaking he's going to take a plea. But given what I remember of his posts I don't expect him to take it right away.

I hope that nobody chooses to take the law into their own hands, and that he gets his day in court and not get laid low by the corona virus. (Seriously, jails and prisons are petri dishes and their populations are not counted in the cases per state/city.)
Even the most terrible people deserve the chance to defend themselves.
Edit: Scratching just below the surface here: It looks like they're waiting to add charges as well (possibly three charges as it looks like they're waiting for them.) This could balloon and bring even worse information out.

I'm perturbed by the implications and the fact that, during the time I sent the first comment way back, I had just made a list of best friends and wanted to PM Cody and suddenly I hear this.
Like I've watched a Korean series where a son (who has perfect memory and is a lawyer) is trying to prove that his dad is innocent of a similar act, which is why I'd side with those that say that Innocent till proven guilty. Next month right? Like I do wish that he's innocent, but even if he wins the case, the damage has already been done. It'll be hard to view him the same way and it'll be worse if they find out he's guilty.
Let's just hope that justice is done, and that whoever is truly guilty, whether him or another person, is found. Because the worst that can happen is that he was mistaken for someone else or framed.
