Edit: In the Absence of Twilight Sparkle Chapter

Just wanted to let you know I made a mistake on the most recent chapter of ItAoTS. I erroneously described Dr. Twilight's lab as being on the ground floor of the Magic School, while its actual location is the second floor. This is kinda a big detail to just switch around. It's fixed

I Made an A.I. Re-Write Scenes from my Fanfics

This is partially to make up for National Not Writing Month, which I participated in by not even writing a single thing last month. November is always waaaaay too busy for me to make much progress (I'm busy doing my part for wildlife conservation), and it turns out the current state of the world did not change a dippy-trippy thing.

But anyway! :pinkiecrazy: A.I. writing fanfic!

Ladies and gentlemen! Boys and girls of an appropriate age! Now that Rhythm and Rhyme is complete, I am able to turn my writing time over to In the Absence of Twilight Sparkle! A such, today, I present you the next chapter in the ongoing saga of The Heart's Promise Series.

So here's something to hopefully entertain you during this rough period of history. Stay safe everybody. :pinkiesad2::heart:

In this chapter, things take a turn for the interesting as both Twilight and Sunset realize they'll be unable to help each other...

Quick recap of the story so far:

In a dark, alternate Equestria where Sombra is king, a young filly hatches a dragon egg, but in the process accidently kills her parents and most of the entrance exam judges. King Sombra knocks her out.

Years later, Twilight Sparkle tutors Big Mac in math, and the two hit it off.

Months after that, the Apple family invites Sunset, Twilight, and Shining Armor to Memorial Day supper. Sunset and Shiny hit it off. Applejack and Sunset come to the conclusion that they need to tell Twilight about her other self.

Across the sea in the Highborn Isles, a mysterious woman claiming to be Twilight Sparkle appears in the back alley of a bar, and promises to teach Starlight Glimmer magic.

Flash forward several years. Twilight Sparkle the science cop is examining a mummified body that seems to have become so through magical means. Through her investigations, she discovers that the person is Raven, an old friend of Principal Celestia. She and Sunset meet up at the Apple Family Reunion, where Sunset introduces her to the concept of teleportation. Both of them vow to work on figuring out the spell together.

While Twilight is at the reunion, Moondancer discovers that the magic that mummified the body triggers the same equipment that activates when it's near Twilight's locker. She is named as a suspect. She spends the day reeling from the accusation and the loss of Moondancer as her friend (Moondancer realized that Twilight Sparkle continued studying magic without her).

Sunset it approached by Celestia and her old friend Dr. Sombra about a school in the Highborn Isles that teaches magic. They want to pay her to visit, which will help her financial situation a great deal (money has been tight since Shining Armor left his job in the military). She and Shining Armor decide it would be good for her to go.

Would you give a quick recap? It has been almost 2 years since the last update and I for one probably won’t have time for a complete reread for a while.

I think that's the events of major importance so far. I hope you enjoy!

Thank you. That was very helpful.

Need to change the title to "In the Presence of Twilight Sparkle" now that it's back.

So I just came across a story in the saga and it's not clear if I should read them all, or in order, or if they're all stories unto themselves

So, the whole series has a plot that runs through all of the stories, but each one has its own plot with a beginning, middle, and end. I've described them as stand-alone stories that stand together.

So, if you read the series front to back, you can pick up on the connections between stories. If you read them individually, important events will be revealed as backstory.

The only ones that you really can't read on their own merits are the direct sequels. The Worst Kept Secret is a sequel to Lightning Struck Home, In the Absence of Twilight Sparkle is a sequel to In the Absence of Sunset Shimmer, and The Unmitigated Disaster is a sequel to Fahr Drill.

Other than those three, they can be read individually. Just jump in to whatever story suits your fancy, and you should be fine! :twilightsheepish:
