    My Writing Setup

Some of you have asked about my writing setup. Well, you're in for a surprise. I write on 20 year old computers. Why? Well, mostly because I'm prone to distraction when I'm writing and I don't want a computer that has internet. You can't get on the internet on super old computers because the network protocols are obsolete. So what do I use? For a desktop, I use a top of the line iMac G4

I'm F*cked - Going to Try and Write for Incest Contest

I can't believe that I'm barely going to be able to enter the contest that I myself am sponsoring, but here goes. Sweet Celestia this has been one hell of a month for me! Due to a great number of personal issues (health issues, business issues, financial issues, etc.) all hitting me at once, I've been unable to write even a single story for the contest.

What I Enjoy Writing About - And Stuff You'll Never See From Me

Those that know me know that I'm an erotic fiction author. I've been active in the furry community (I'm DarkRyu at SoFurry) for some time. But My Little Pony caught my interest and ever since then I've been writing MLP erotic fiction when I can find the time. I'd like to talk about what I write including things I enjoy, things that I'll tolerate under certain circumstances, and things that I

    About Rape Fics....

A lot of people have been asking me to do more rape fics. I'd just like to say this. I don't like writing about rape. I did this one recently on request, but if you read it you'll notice it's not dark nor does it contain violence or anything. Forcing yourself on someone is a terrible thing. I might do more rape fics in the future, but

April 2019 Sibling Incest Contest - Guaranteed $25 Per Submission - $300 Grand Prize - $3,000 Worth of Rewards/Prizes! · 8:16pm Apr 2nd, 2019

Hi everyone! The 2019 Sibling Incest Contest just got a whole lot more interesting! In an effort to get the most (high quality) submissions possible, we're offering a $25 reward just for participating!

$25 Per Submission

Everyone that makes a submission into the April 2019 Sibling Incest Contest folder will get $25 per submission! We're limiting compensation to a maximum of 2 submissions per writer to give everyone an equal chance at participating (so you can make a maximum of $50 - unless you win 1st, 2nd, or 3rd prize - in which case you will also win the prize amounts listed below). There is also a bonus of $20 for writing Princest! (see bonus details below). YOU CAN STILL SUBMIT MORE THAN 2 STORIES in order to increase your chances of winning - you just won't get the $25 per submission for any more than 2 story submissions.

Prizes

1st Place: $300
2nd Place: $200
3rd Place: $100

NOTE: I'm going to enter the competition myself, but if I win 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place, I won't take the prize myself but give it to the next winner down the line (for example, if I won 2nd place, I'd give the 2nd place prize to the 3rd place winner, and then there would be a 4th place winner who would take the 3rd place prize).

Each submission will be graded by the following criteria:

- Literary Proficiency
- "Hotness"
- # of up-votes relative to story views

The Contest

The contest will run until April 30th, and submissions into the contest will be accepted all the way up to the end. In order to qualify for the $25 per submission, your story must meet the following criteria:

1. The story must contain sibling incest - and it must be the primary focus of your story.

2. It must feature canon characters and siblings shown in the show involved in some sort of romantic/sexual relationship.

3. Each story must be a minimum of 3,000 words.

4. Your story must have more than 60% up-votes - this is to encourage people to write the best story they can. If you're within a few percentage points of this, we'll still compensate you. The goal isn't to avoid compensating people, but rather to incentivize (and reward!) the creation of good quality clopfics. For those that think this isn't fair, 60% is a D in school.

5. NO TROLL FICS - the point here is to create quality content for the Incest is Wincest group

6. No anthro/humanized fics - now before you flip out on me here, know that you can still submit these fics and you're still eligible to win the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place prizes. I'm just not willing to pay $25 per story for anthro/humanized. Now if you want to rewrite your anthro/humanized story in pony form and add it as another chapter, you will qualify for the $25 per story so long as you follow the other requirements.

7. R63 isn't allowed either. However, like anthro/humanized fics you can still get the $25 if you rewrite your story and post it an alternate chapter where they're not R63. Futa is acceptable if you really need a male in your story.

Bonus

A $20 bonus will be paid to anyone who writes Princest (Celestia x Luna). A maximum of one bonus will be paid per person, so even if you wrote two Princest fics, you'd only get one $20 bonus. Let's give other pairings a chance, shall we?

Budget

Since all funds for this contest will be provided by me, I get to set a realistic budget. I’m trying to keep the budget to $3,000 or less (including the compensation for each story and the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes) but if we get a lot of submissions I’m willing to go over budget. At $25 per story and including the prize payouts, $3,000 will fund up to 96 stories! This doesn’t include the $20 Princest bonus, but I’m willing to go over budget for that.

Elite Story Bonus!

If anyone manages to write a story that gets 90% upvotes, I'll pay out an additional $25 bonus. Make the effort and you could make a lot of money from this contest!

How to Enter

It's simple. Write an incest fic and submit it to the following folder in the Incest is Wincest group folder by April 30th. You must be registered on FimFiction.net (this website) and have the "View Mature" option turned on in order to submit a story. Remember to follow the guidelines if you want to qualify for the $25 per submission participation reward.

Marketing

I want to get as much new good content as possible for the Incest is Wincest group, so PLEASE send this information to everyone you know who might be interested! I will be putting an ad on Derpibooru, but I would love suggestions of where else we can market this contest. I'm also not the best at making banner advertisements, but I will need one in order to advertise on Derpibooru. If anyone else here is good at graphic design and can design a banner, feel free to contact me! I will pay for your design skills!

If you have any questions, feel free to direct them to me.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question:
I'm a first-time writer. Am I eligible to participate?

Answer:
YES! Authors of all skill levels are welcome to participate. Even if you don't win one of the main prizes, you'll at least get the $25 participation reward if you follow the guidelines. We all started somewhere. Don't be afraid to enter!

Question:
Where is this money coming from? How can I be sure I'll be compensated?

Answer:
From my own personal funds. I live up to my agreements and my reputation as a writer and as a member of the pony community is at stake here. Believe me, that means a lot more to me than what amounts to (what I consider to be) a small amount of money.

Question:
How will the prizes and participation rewards be distributed? When?

Answer:
At the end of the contest I will send out the $25 participation rewards and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes via PayPal. If you use another payment service and would like to be paid that way, please contact me prior to entering the contest to make sure I can compensate you.

Question:
I want to bend the rules a little when it comes to the criteria required for the guaranteed $25 per submission. Can I contact to you about my idea to see if you'd be willing to make an exception for my story?

Answer:
You can, but rules are rules for a reason. If I bend or break the rules for you, I'll have to do it for everybody so I'll have to take that into consideration. Remember that the rules for entering the contest and the rules for the guaranteed $25 per submission reward are different. You can still enter even if you don't qualify for the $25 reward and still have the chance to win 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place (and the associated prizes).

Question:
What if there are more than 96 entries? Will everyone still get the participation award?

Answer:
Yes. Now if it gets crazy out of hand I might have to put a hard cap on it, but I don't have any problem exceeding my budget so long as we're getting good content for it!

Ive been waiting for a nice contest to come around. I'm definitely in, however while the rules are great, i don't like one in particular, which is that upvote per read is a factor in deciding winners. I think it's obvious that some members don't have a lot of followers, and some writers have a lot of unconditional hate downvotes. It's best to just set up a judge panel.

5037159
I agree, but having a good number of up-votes relative to the number of views isn't a requirement for winning a prize.

I am investigating the possibility of creating a poll and requiring registered users in order to vote. I want to make sure that whoever wins the prizes actually deserves them and that no one is cheating. The problem with those free poll creators out there is it's easy to vote multiple times if you know what you're doing.

5037159 This had been duly noted and addressed. There will still be a proper judge panel.
The upvotes-per-views ratio will be just one factor for the judging criteria. And it will scale appropriately for people with fewer followers and views. (9 upvotes out of 10 views will have the same weight as 90 upvotes out of 100 views.) The objective for this really is an emphasis on quality for this contest, not just the biggest numbers.

5037176
Yes. Quality is of paramount importance to me. I'm just trying to avoid getting a ton of people submitting crappy stories because they want the $25. If you truly do your best, no one is going to judge you.

Oh...

Oh my, count me in, I need the muns :rainbowkiss:

Is R63 gucci or naw? I'm curious bout that

5037190 Well, people are going to, quite literally, judge your story.

5037191
Crap. Forgot to address that. You can do R63 and still enter the contest, but if you want the $25 participation reward you either need to make an alternate chapter where they're not R63 or just avoid R63 altogether. Futa is acceptable if you really need a male in your story. I've updated the rules to reflect this.

5037200
Ahh, alrighty then, duly noted.

Well count me in, I'm all for some incest stories, one of my fave genres in the fandom to mess around with.

Here's to creating some quality horsewords

Probably a stupid question, but... does it have to be 'sibling' incest, or does any form of incest count?

I define 'sibling' as brother or sister, hence why I'm asking.

5038751
Yup. The definition of siblings is two or more people (or ponies) that are blood relatives and have one or both parents in common. Last month we had a Aunt/Uncle x Niece/Nephew contest and this month it's a contest for siblings.

Well hot damn. I'll see what I can whip up.

Do Twilight and Spike count as siblings for this purpose? They're obviously not related by blood, but they grew up together and seem to have an older sister/younger brother dynamic in canon.

(The other question is whether Spike and Shining count as siblings via the transitive property, but we rarely see them interact anyway so even I think that's kind of iffy.)

I see a mention of enabling viewing mature, are stories for this required to be mature (contain actual sex), or can they be a bit lighter (kissing, sex only implied) and thus teen-rated?

Further, does rape count, for sexual relationships? I'll likely write something that's both clearly non-consensual and with romantic love anyways, but I would like to know the possibilities here.

5041957
The siblings must be biologically related in order to qualify for the participation reward. You can still enter the contest however, and if you win you can still be eligible for one of the prizes.

5042853
Sex is required in order to get the participation reward. It is not required in order to enter the contest or to win one of the prizes.

Do Aloe and Lotus count? They've never been specifically confirmed as sisters, even though it's obvious they are. Flitter and Cloudchaser?

I kinda like this and kinda don't.

I mean, offering cashmoney as a reward is great as an incentive, for certain.

But views-to-votes comparisons are kind of useless and work heavily against people with large followings.

Plus, the 90% upvote ratings thing kinda has me on the fence because it just... I mean, what's to stop people from using alt accounts to manipulate votes one way or another? And again, people with larger followings can be unduly slapped with reactive downvotes for writing something outside of their norm. That certainly doesn't apply to me, since I've written heeeeaps of incest before, but if a predominantly happysappy snugglefic writer started doing incest porn for this competition I can see them eating a bunch of downvotes just because.

I think the bonus should be for stories that are beyond X length! That way you know that the writers have put in a bunch of actual effort to increase the length of the story and make it... I dunno, proper? I just feel like that encourages effort, which is what an incentive should do!

I very much doubt that I'm going to enter, I'm afraid, seeing as I have a work due for a patreon group already at the end of the month, and two commissions outside of that. I just don't think I have the time to write wincest this month! But I thought I'd throw in a comment and a salute, you're doing god Cel Molestia's work :trollestia:

5043640
Feel free to enter this into the contest, but they need to be canon siblings in order to qualify for the $25 participation reward.

5043705
I'd love to see something from you. You're an excellent writer. I understand your concern, but there are always ways for dishonest people to game the system. If I made compensation based upon length then what's to stop people from writing 20,000 words of trash? The 3,000 word requirement is the minimum you need to write in order to qualify for the participation reward. Your goal should be to write the best story you can and the length should be whatever it takes to tell your story - whether that's 3,000 words or 300,000 words. There are plenty of good stories that have only a few thousand words. Quality over quantity here.

Anyway, I'm sad to hear that you probably won't be able to enter the contest. You're a good writer with an excellent chance of winning one of the prizes. If you change your mind we're accepting submissions all the way up to the 30th. That's 17 days from now. Here's to hoping we see something from you!

Question: I'm mildly interested even though I've never written a subject like this before and don't have many followers (if any).

However my tastes tend to follow a different fetish primarily. In my case, weight gain or other forms of expansion. If I wrote a story with those in there as well as an incest plot, would that not be subject to fans tastes and therefore potentially not be as upvoted as other stories? Would such a story with a secondary fetish even be accepted?

Hmmm...I was considering this, but I have to admit to a few concerns too. I hope it's alright to express them without looking like I have a problem with any of this (I don't, it's a competition for a fun fanfic topic, go for it).

For one, as the sponsor, I think it would be better if you didn't enter your own competition. I realize you said you would pass the prize money down if you win any, but money isn't really the point there. It's a conflict of interest for the sponsor to participate, and could affect the judging process. Plus if you do win, the nature of the awards will change, because there will now be a fourth place prize where there wasn't before.

Second, though I realize this is speculative, the math concerning 96 entries only works if every entrant warrants only the minimum participation payout. If the cap is $3,000 and $600 of that is already earmarked for prizes, you have $2400 left in the budget. In order to plan for the budget you have to assume that each entrant will require the max payout - two submissions at 3k minimum, one of which has Celestia and Luna in it. That's $70 per person, meaning you'll run out of money after entry 34. Granted not everybody is likely to submit in this way, but they could, and it's better to prepare for more spending as opposed to less.

Third, and I'm sorry for saying it again because I know I'm not the first, but I'm also not too sure about making 'up votes relative to story views' a judging criterion. Voting aside, the majority of readers view without voting one way or another. So...what if somebody else pubishes their entry two weeks after mine? They will have a lot fewer views than I do, which puts them at a potential advantage. Also, no matter how heavily it's weighted, why have a criteria that doesn't require the judges to experience the story? I get where you're coming from if the idea behind this is to attempt to ensure 'quality' writing, but if you have a good judging panel, wouldn't it be better to trust in them than whether or not the readers thought to leave a vote?

(Of course there's also the possibility that less scrupulous entrants could simply reload the page over and over again of the competition stories just to kick up the view numbers, which would be easy sabotage when things are set up like this. I keep this as a side thought because I hope people have more to do with their lives than waste that much time sabotaging a fanfiction competition, but it would be a lot easier to do than, say, inflating downvotes or whatnot).

I don't know, I don't mean to poop on this idea. If it's about generating more stories I think that's great, but I'm thinking maybe criteria that are a bit more specific and relate to the subject matter more would be better. Like what exactly is 'hotness'? That's very broad and changes radically from person to person - what sort of things are the judges looking for? What is 'hot' may be very obvious to the judges, but I've already been in competitions on fim where the winning entries seemed to have very little to do with what the contest guidelines asked for, so...I'm a bit jaded when there's a lot of ambiguity like that.

Anyway, I hope I have generated no offense, as none is intended. These are just things that came up for me while reading here, and I have no intention of sparking a debate - these were just things I felt useful to bear in mind. I further apologize if I touched on anything that was already addressed in the comments which I missed (or in any comments that may have been posted while I was writing this).

Anyway, my apologies. Thanks for the opportunity to speak.

Made a profile just to enter 😁 Saw your ad on FA. Question, would a Daybreaker/Nightmare pairing count towards the princest? If not I still plan to write one.

5045627
I specifically said Celestia x Luna. Nightmare Moon x Daybreaker technically don't qualify. Though they do qualify to enter the contest and for the $25 participation reward - just not the Princes bonus.

5045154
Nothing is off-limits to enter the contest so long as it contains sibling incest. However, if your story contains fetishes that aren't widely liked, it's unlikely that you'll get enough upvotes relative to downvotes in order to qualify for the participation reward. Please keep this in mind before entering.

5045195

For one, as the sponsor, I think it would be better if you didn't enter your own competition. I realize you said you would pass the prize money down if you win any, but money isn't really the point there. It's a conflict of interest for the sponsor to participate, and could affect the judging process. Plus if you do win, the nature of the awards will change, because there will now be a fourth place prize where there wasn't before.

I consider myself a non-competitor. There's no reason for me not to enter the contest however as I would have entered the contest whether I was sponsoring it or not and the goal here is to get as much new content for the Incest is Wincest group as possible.

Second, though I realize this is speculative, the math concerning 96 entries only works if every entrant warrants only the minimum participation payout. If the cap is $3,000 and $600 of that is already earmarked for prizes, you have $2400 left in the budget. That's $70 per person, meaning you'll run out of money after entry 34. Granted not everybody is likely to submit in this way, but they could, and it's better to prepare for more spending as opposed to less.

That's why I said that I'd like to keep the budget under $3,000. That doesn't mean I have to.

Also, no matter how heavily it's weighted, why have a criteria that doesn't require the judges to experience the story?

As I understand it (and forgive me if I'm incorrect here as I'm not a judge), the judges have to read every story in order to be able to make a decision. This isn't a mathematical formula. View counts and the number of upvotes have nothing to do with their decision in the end.

(Of course there's also the possibility that less scrupulous entrants could simply reload the page over and over again of the competition stories just to kick up the view numbers, which would be easy sabotage when things are set up like this.

I have tested FimFiction's upvote system and it's actually quite difficult to game. You have to have a unique account in order to vote at all. Votes are tracked by IP address, user account, cookies, etc. While it is possible to game the system, it would require a lot of time (and money) to be able to do it undetected. Many members have been banned because they were caught trying to game the upvote and commenting systems. I could do it (I work in IT), but it would be a lot of work and it would cost about $250/month minimum in order to game the system without being caught. This is one reason why I didn't choose a $1,000 grand prize (which was initially what I was going to offer). Anyone that spends $250 for the possibility of winning $300 is a fool who probably couldn't figure out how to game FimFiction's systems anyway.

Hi, Im new to the site and Im having trouble submitting my story to the group. My story is here -> https://www.fimfiction.net/story/437180/1/celestias-sweet-little-sister-bdsm-spanking-comfort-sex/celestias-sweet-little-sister-oneshot
Would you be able to help me figure out how to submit it? Thank you

how do i submit it into the folder i just joined like 5 minutes ago lol

I made an account just to join this contest, I def need the money so I’m in

I know this is an incest contest but does the fic have to be explicit? Can it be teen for mentions of or brief hints of incest?
And also, how much involvement must the story of said incest characters be involved? If you want to build a story later on that would lead to something else, should it focus on the incest first or can the story grow the characters?

Oof. I find this with 6 days to go. I've done quality stuff in less time. Okay, some questions:

Gay fics? Mature Spike x Shining Armor was my first thought.

Self-cest is wincest?

Oh, and you said no R63, but I see people writing chick-with-stick. So is that fine?

i feel like i am a bit late seeing this... WHOOPS

Hello everyone!

Am I late for the contest? I just got notice of this and I don't know if I can reach 60% approval in less than a week...

I started something for this too, but I can't get myself to finish it sadly. :'(

5048839

Gay fics? Mature Spike x Shining Armor was my first thought.

Self-cest is wincest?

Oh, and you said no R63, but I see people writing chick-with-stick. So is that fine?

Spike and Shining Armor aren't blood relatives, so that wouldn't qualify for the $25 participation reward. Gay/Straight/Lesbian...it doesn't matter.

Self-cest isn't incest, so it doesn't qualify.

Futa is fine.

Does each sibling have to be A) real and B) know who the other is? For example A) would Celestia dreaming about doing her sister qualify (and if not, would it starting out as a dream luna but real luna taking dream luna's place in the dream qualify?)
B) Would blindfolded Shining x voice-disguised Twilight qualify?

I also want to ask what exactly you mean by "60% upvotes" Do you mean 60% of the people who thumb it give it a thumbs up, or 60% of the people who view it period have to give a thumbs up? Because I can tell you the later will not happen. Looking at the stories, there are plenty with way more likes than dislikes, but not a single story has more that 15% of it's views in likes.

5049512
It must contain incest. It doesn't matter whether the characters are aware that they're engaging in incest or not so long as it actually happens. Dreams technically aren't real so there's no "real" incest going on, so that wouldn't qualify.

A 60% upvote ratio means that 60% of people that actually vote must vote positively (so if 100 people voted on your story, at least 60 of them need to have upvoted it and no more than 40 people should have downvoted it). View count is irrelevant. If your story only gets 50 views and 3 votes, so long as at least 2 out of those 3 votes are positive, it qualifies (2/3 is 66.66666...%).

Ah mines still pending approval and I don't know how to tag it?

Damn I don't think I'll be able to finish my story in time. Oh well, congrats to whoever does win. If a contest like this happens again hopefully I'll find out about it in time to actually finish something aha.

5051546

Damn I don't think I'll be able to finish my story in time.

I'm thinking about extending the participation rewards beyond the contest date. You wouldn't be able to participate in the contest, but you would be able to get the $25 participation reward and the Princest bonus if you submit it late. Keep an eye on the forums for a topic like this in the next few days!

5051617
That would be nice! I need a couple days to properly finalize my own princest fic, which is already 7k words long and maybe two-thirds of the way done :twilightsheepish:

I feel super powerless :/ My entry has been ready for a day now, but it's stuck in some sort of approval limbo and I can't do anything but wait...

On Shakespearicles' blogpost and the group post rule number 7 isn't present. Has this been changed at all :fluttershyouch:

#7 still applies. His blog post was never updated to include #7.

I wish I could help, but I don't control the contest. I will likely be extending the deadline in order to receive the participation reward, however. In other words, if you submit the story after the deadline for the contest, you won't be eligible to win one of the awards, but I'll still compensate you for actually writing the story.

5051951
Can you still win the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes though? You said so here:

People can still write about these things and be entered in the contest in order to win the prizes, but I'm only willing to pay for stories that have a minimum standard and try to stay as close to canon as possible.

And here

If 1st place goes to a story about anthro R63 OC ponies then that's who will get the 1st place prize. But even if that story wins 1st place, they won't get the $25 reward - just the $300 prize, whereas if the story met all of my criteria, they would have gotten $325 in the end (or $345 if it contains Princest).

I'm not a writer, but I wanted to stop by and thank you for sponsoring this-- it's far and away the most successful fanfic contest I've ever seen. I'm looking forward to reading the entries. ...It's gonna take a while. :)

5051959

Can you still win the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes though?

So long as you submit them to the contest folder before the deadline, yes.

5051968

I never would have sponsored it before, but with ponies declining in popularity, I wanted to do what I could to make sure we got a lot of entries. A lot of these stories have fewer views than the number of authors that participated in the contest! Hopefully that will change over time though. Now that the contest is over, I'm going to update my website so that the remaining people that land there will be directed to the stories that were submitted into the contest.

5051971
Oh thank, Christ. You have no idea how much panic I was experiencing when someone sent that rule 7 to me, it completely ruined my day when I thought my story wasn't eligible for anything.

Damn, I just saw the advertisement on FA today. The contest looked really nice too. Having a participation award like that is very generous. Thanks for hosting it.

I made an account here now, maybe I'll see something like this in the future.
