Hey readers! Guess what? No, nothing bad. I just want your opinions!
So, Nick got turned into a pony. And it seems more people like 'Nickel Ingot' than I expected. So, instead of just ending the prank, I think I ought to leave the conclusion of it up to you all, sonce my editors amd I can't agree.
Option 1: Potion wears off as normal, but Nick gets an unlimited supply for later use.
Option 2: Bad news, the potion ingrained itself in the msgocal matrix it had to make to turn Nick into a pony, and the effect is semi-permanent. Good news though, Nick can instantly switch forms with minimal effort, similar to a changeling but only between Nick and Nickel. A dose of potion forces an immediate change.
Option 3: Similar to option 2, the potion is semi-permanent. BUT, it ends up as a Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde scenario where random stimuli will force Nick to swap forms, and he can change back with immense effort or a dose of potion or another random event.
If you choose options 1 or 2, I can probably make a spinoff about Nick exploring Canterlot as a pony, but if you choose option 3, I have another recurring gag for prank war.
On an unrelated note, how are you all enjoying my stories? Should I keep them going, and which is your favorite?
And does any of you do art? I may beg for art, even a doodle commision you sometime.
I think I like option two the best. I do still love the stories and you should keep writing them. My favorite is still prank war, but I do love the potion shop as well. (Is there going to be a list for rules for Razzle and Arca?)
Option three reminds me of Ranma 1/2's shenanigans involving the characters trying - and usually failing - to avoid the trigger.
I'd say go with that one, and make it a running gag.
And both are good, family-friendly fun stories you got there. So... keep on typing?

Option 3 is more comedic. Like he sneezes in the middle of a serious conversation and he transforms.
Given the responses so far I'm leaning towards option 2 with a hint of option 3:
He can change at will, but sometimes he'll just trip and transform or something putting him in an awkward situation, or he'll want to change forms but can't for the day. Imagine suddenly being a pony with a mouthful of hamburger, or going from pony to human while eating hay. Oof.

That sounds about right, at-will change for that classic duck-around-a-corner-and-shift trick, but also the sheer inconvenience of "ponying up" at the wrong time. Say, that could do it, he could get his Mark in, whatever, and just like other humans, practicing it makes him fuzzy.

Idk, but I think NICK's mark will be, well, an ingot of nickel or iron, to represent his iron will in keeping the war going.
That and those stocks he got were in the metal industry

Start with option 2 then after a few chapters just when he thinks he has it all figured out then
a herd of wild club footed gophers.Trixie, the CMC, Sweetie Belle sneezes, Philomena laughs so hard she cries on him [these tears being from humor rather than sadness have a different effect]. Shifts him to option 3

You know what, just because no one else is going for it, I choose option 1. As for whether I'm enjoying the stories, they're some of my favorites, please keep them going. But please dont make me choose between the two, they're both great.
