A new project, and an explanation!

    Hey folks,

Alternate title for this blog post: I'm Doing a Thing (and I'm looking for help)

I don't think anyone is surprised that my pony writing has been on a bit of a hiatus for a while, and my presence on this site is mostly to lurk-and-read rather than finish my long-delayed stories. What you might not know, though, is what I've been doing instead of pony writing.

I am not at Bronycon... · 10:57am Aug 3rd, 2017

...but apparently everyone else is will be, to judge by my news feed.

Hope everyone there has fun with the writing panels. Don't drink too much (until after the panels, at least).

Right? It's rough.

Maybe next year...

Well yea, nobody's at bronycon yet, silly. It's next week!

And I will definitely drink too much before the panels, just like last year. They're more fun that way. We'll bring you along in spirit!

I'm not going this year, I'm afraid.

Clearly I should spend the weekend writing about colorful horses instead.

I wish I could go... but I don't know where many or any really are.

I know, right? Wouldn't it be nice to have that kind of disposable income? I mean here I am trying to save for a new laptop next year. (because I generally kill laptops on a 4 year cycle)

I will join you in the "sighing forlornly" corner.

That's offensively adorable.

Did they post phony dates for Bronycon on their website and then tell everyone but me... again?

4622416 I'm going to Bronycon, but my laptop is 13 years old. :ajsmug:

Yes but I abuse mine. It sits outside in the cold, it gets run at near 100% resources on a fairly regular basis, I carry it around in a backpack whenever it isn't sitting on its laptop tray running for days or weeks straight if I'm not taking it places.

You be with us in the spirit of friendship and will be remembered around the great council fires....or at least mentioned at a table in Sofas and Quills!
Hope to meet you there sometime, though.

But you're two of my favorite people!

She is so pretty and sad. :fluttercry:

4622803
Sorry! Maybe next year....

4622803
Hopefully next year I'll be shoveling piles of dosh into my pockets again and be able to justify the journey.

I won't be going. Not only am I too poor, I'd be a complete stranger to any and all of you.
I've attended three "cons" in my life, and each time I drove back home after a couple of hours. I'd seen all there was to see.

It sounds lovely but I can't do live streams, alas.

Is there a gold patreon level to bribing whoever it takes to get you here?

4625284

Tokyo's a long hike, man. I'd spend as many hours in the air as I would in the convention center.

4625370
I know. That's why the gold level would fund a trip long enough to make it worth your while.
