    Important message about Suicide

WARNING: Discussions, however brief for the sake of tact, about self-harm and suicidal thoughts are in this post. People especially vulnerable to such should ensure they are in a good headspace before reading. This sort of trigger is no joke.

    Chapter 56 Promo!

In an isolated, abnormally large, hollowed-out tree might not be the typical abode for megalomaniacal n'ere-do-wells. Though, there was a reason both of them had opted for current accommodations over the typical kingdoms and castles, in one form or another. The area was absolutely inundated with dark magic. From the eerie glow that some of the plants gave off, to traces of black aerenth crystals

Gigan

True Form

"What? You seriously expecting the other jackass to save Christmas? My special now **********!"

Title: The Nebulan Ranger
Alias: Master Fragger, P.T.R.U - A (Prototype Technorganic Range Protection Unit-A), Nega Gigan
Stats:
Species: Cyborg of an unknown alien species, roughly equal parts organic and robotic
Coloration: Leaf green hide with gold scales (joints, body, limbs), golden sails on back, red visor covering eye line, metallic forearms, feet, and dorsal spines
Gender: Male
Height: 105 meters (top of head), 120 meters (top of horns)
Weight: 60,000 tons
Length: 220 meters

Morality: Very crude and unrefined, much to his brother's annoyance. Mostly sticks to the job to bash some heads but ultimately does mean well. Just hope your not too attached to the nearest landmark and historic sites once he's landed. Personally whereas the Prime timeline Gigan is a serious minded, no-nonsense mercenary; this individual always finds room for the nonsense amongst the mayhem.
Traits: Partial metallic coating, buzz saw on chest, pointed hooks or mace on forearms, spikes down back, tail, pointed spikes on tail and head, anti-gravity jets on sails allow for flight at Mach 1 in atmosphere and Mach 3 in vacuum, fourth wall awareness, extensive swear word vocabulary, and visor allows for multiple vision functions ranging from infrared, ultraviolet, and x-ray.

Powers:

Optic Flare - After a brief charge period indicated by a glowing light on his visor, Gigan can fire out a red colored beam of plasma as a ranged attack. The blast directed from the projector unit jewel on his forehead gives out a long, thin red incendiary beam and the version fired out from his visor is a short ranged, shot-gun blast pulse.
Long story short, I look at something too long and it gets the hots for me so much it's slags itself. Moving on.

Hammer Arms - Inside the base of Gigan's arm where the hook attaches are a series of mechanisms that affect gravitons in one simple way. By briefly increasing the weight and gravity attraction between his swung arm and whatever is in its path, this "hammer" function can greatly increase the power of a swing, both for greater penetration for a stab or concussive force when smacking with the blunt sides of the weapon.
Well my good looks aren't the only thing that knocked them on their ******* ***es.

Teleportation - Via access to a warp drive, Gigan can jump into the air and teleport a short distance, indicated by a flash of green light. This ability has a range of several thousand meters and can be done repeatedly after a couple minutes of recharge time. Gigan can teleport in rapid succession, but the effort is heavily draining on his internal power stores. He can also warp anything he's holding onto along with him, but doing so requires the object be staying more or less still. Teleporting other objects with him also limits how far he cam warp. Whatever liquid or gas that occupies the space Gigan is teleporting to will replace him in his original location. So teleporting himself into sea water from mid-air results in an equal volume of salt water being dropped into the air. The only full limitation to this ability is Gigan requires a line of sight to where he will 'blink' too, and he or anything he's holding onto must fit in the given space, as he cannot teleport anything inside a large amounts of solid matter. Small amounts of solids like dust or debris can be moved however.
Once tried seeing if I could switchero with plasma, fireworks were ****** great and bosses loved the new desert.

Armaments - As previously stated, Gigan is a cyborg is a lot of on board physical weaponry. Most notably this includes the large hooks built onto his arms and the buzz saw grafted into his chest. In addition he has a second configuration which swaps out one of his hooks for a spiked mace that can be fired out on a retractable chain. All of these components are made of an unknown alloy that is incredibly durable and decently light.

Biotechnological Integration - Unlike his prime timeline counterpart, Mirror!Gigan has his technological parts completely integrated into his biology through a mixture of nanotechnology and organic integration, effectively making his metallic parts pieces of his physical make-up just as much as his flesh ones. This means he can repair damages to them just like he could repair a damaged organ, with the nanites that repair those parts acting like cells. Though how long it takes to happen can vary depending on severity of damage. He can also detach and control small numbers of these nanites to give some basic manipulation of other technology.
Nanomachi-.... No, I'm not gonna ****** say it! Sorry fanboys, I don't do memes.

Weakness: - Gigan is vulnerable to bright light if his visor is damaged, as it can easily blind him. Unless given an outside power source to recharge from, Gigan usually cannot teleport in rapid succession or it will severely drain his power cells. He also cannot manipulate his nanites in the heat of combat, meaning manipulation of them and technologies they can infect is impractical in battle. He is also easily distracted and much less a serious combatant than his prime timeline counterpart.
... you know narrator, you seem real eager to get fragged.

Bio:

Gigan's exact origins are a closely guarded trade secret by the Nebulan Confederation, which scrub the information as protocol if any of their ships are captured or damaged beyond repair. It's thought that this is to both avoid anyone reverse engineering the behemoth, as well as using his blueprints to exploit any design flaws or weaknesses in the construct. Being a cyborg, it can be inferred Gigan was once fully a flesh and blood creature at some point, but whether he was a natural kaiju who's species hailed from the Nebulan home world or an artificial creation that was then modified is unknown. The presence of some M-base in his genes has lead to numerous theories, from him originally hailing from the Xilian home world, to the Xilians having played a hand in the creation of their ally's defender because M-base is common in lifeforms from the Xilian home system.
Gigan, regardless of origin, was the Nebulan's first major ranger unit. Due to the Nebulan Confederation's great interest in ecological preservation and sustainability alongside their corporate trade base, as opposed to their uncontrolled corporate conglomerate in the Prime timeline, Gigan's main purpose was to act as a protector over the Nebulan controlled ranges; ensuring there weren't any incursions by groups that disrupted the balance, keeping invasive monsters at bay; and shooting down or intercepting incoming asteroids or meteors.

Whether it was left over from his original state or possibly an oddity in his creation, Gigan's mental state is... Off. Far from a noble protector, he is quite crude, frequently a joker of black comedy; and has an ego roughly the size of the Nebulan home world. He may or may not have some sort of psychosis as he's frequently seen angrily yelling at someone who apparently isn't even there. This is to the great annoyance of his "little brother", Megalon, whom displays far more stoic logic and maturity-
Gonna stop you right there dip****. Hey listen, I know I sound like a homicidal, beer chugging, life of the party... which I may be if given the chance. But hey, when you got my job you just can't spell "Slaughter" without "Laughter". If punches lead to punchlines being covered in some *************************'s eyes, blood, guts, and IDon'tKnowWhat means I'm bloody-hilarious; why should I give a *****? So flap your eat-meat much as you like yah ****** ***** buckets, I ******** love my job.
In summary for anyone who's late
*********************************************************************************************************************
***** 'em!
Now I'm off to save Christmas. Hey, think if I frag some elves and gut 'em with my saw, suger plums will spill out everywhere? Got a running bet with Kaizer it'll be candy-canes.

Methinks that Prime!Maneiac would have a lot more fun with this particular fellow than his stoic counterpart. Which of course means that Alt!Maneiac (whatever her name is there) probably can't stand him and wants him as far away from her comic as possible.
Also, awesome musical choice!

I want to see Prime-time Gigan and Mirror-Gigan duke it out. Please, pleas, pretty please?

So Alt! Gigan is the Showa version of Gigan... Oh boy....

I KNEW IT! I F***** KNEW IT!! I KNEW IT WAS HIM!!

4342420
So good or bad surprise?

4342415
Oh yes. I do love me some mythology gags. Plus makes sense because this Gigan never got mauled by Kaizer Ghidorah.

4342412
Gonna ned to grab Heatseaker because he's the wrestling go-to-guy but
"Thiiis Sunday! Sunday! SUNDAY! Two Cyborg Titan Duke it out in the Main Ring!"

4342411
Thanks!

I'm beginning to wonder if some of the characters "speak" to you when you're writing them Tarb, like if they argue with you on plot developments or arcs? :rainbowlaugh: Apparently this version of Gigan seems to think so.

And good LORD, Mane-iac is in for a HELL of a surprise if she meets THIS version of her "beloved".

Though, I can't WAIT to see the Alt-version of Megalon. This is going to be hilarious!!

It is wrong that I read Mirror Gigan's dialogue with Deadpool's voice?

I didn't see that coming :derpytongue2:

Oh...my...God. I so didn't expected that Mirror Gigan would be the protagonist of the Christmas special and I got to say that he couldn't be more different than his Prime counterpart. He's pretty much a violent, foul-mouthed Deadpool version of a Kaiju. I love it.
Anyway, I wonder how he ended up in Maretropolis and what kind of role he'd play in the storyline. The only downside is that the chapter will come up on Sunday, so my family will take me out for a farm vacation on four days to celebrate my graduation tomorrow. Guess, I'll have to read the chapter on Thursday.

4342438 Oh it's a good, not too much of a surprise when mentioned the word 'brother' in the previous blog and I just put two and two together. What really surprised me is how so many people are surprised, guess that means I'm awesome. Scratch that, I'm better than all of you. :raritywink:

"Gigan 3:16 says I just whipped your A**!"

And here's the reveal. This is gonna be good. ^_^

Pretty cool. But i just have one question in regards to Gigan here: does he also take enthusiastic walks on distant worlds, while also killing homicidal monsters? Because if so, then that'd be so ballin'!:D

Just out of curiosity... how inspired were you by next week's Death Battle?

I'm getting a huge Deadpool vibe here... maybe mixed with a bit of Lobo.

4342438 Wooo!!! Yeah!!!! Can't wait for Sunday.

4342623
Nope, been planning this for a long time actually. I had more DACU Lobo in mind than Deadpool to be honest.

4342638
I was kinda joking ^^;
the "This Sunday! Sunday! SUNDAY!" is a wrestling statement. But I suppose I could write a fight eventually

Can he take the visor off? Also, I'm coming along too Gaijin!

I am amused and ready for Lobo-Gigan.

Going down the list.

1) Pleasantly surprised to see that it's Mirror!Gigan, my money was on Mirror Megs.

2) Animal Face-off reference! I loved that show.

3) I like that you went with his Showa body, helps us to visualize the difference, and is a nice tip of the hat to his original look.

4) Micro-robots that repair him from the inside huh? Sound kinda familiar, wonder where I might've heard something like that before...

5) Definitely like the "Lobo-ness" of the character, fan of the character. Giving him the launchable mace is a great touch.

6) The bio is well thought-out and interesting, kudos on that. makes me wish I could just exposite my headcanon so forthrightly.

7) If I can assemble some "tale of the tape" data, I can absolutely record a Pro-wrestling esque introduction for a Gigan Civil War. ("sunday-sunday-sunday" is from monster trucks)

What's funny, is I'm in the middle of a Gigan chapter, and I was just pondering composing for you a PM about my version of him compared to yours.

I can't wait for Mirror!Megalon. XD

I never anticipated this would be the mystery character. Looking forward to seeing what antics Mirror! Gigan gets into for the special.

I honestly thought that it would be Sans for a little bit.

4343863 I'm not sure why I thought that Sans would weigh 60,000 tons.

I'm getting more of an Abridged!Alucard vibe off of this then Lobo.

I can't believe it... I nailed it! Haha, it is Mirror Gigan!
