    Soon!

I think I've used that blog title three or four times now.

Anyway! New chapter of Spectacular Seven is almost done! I was hoping it would be done this week so I could post it on Saturday, but I need to rewrite a scene. And that's before I edit it! And before Drakey edits it! The good news is...

    Ten Years, Still Here

I think back to my nascent days here, reading stories and typing out my own, hoping for the day where I could call myself a veteran of the fandom. My stories would be remembered and I would stand alongside authors like Pen stroke and Aragon.

And I look where I am now and go, ‘well, you got one big hit. Good enough.’

    Thank You

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the GoFundMe or spread the word for it. It really means a lot. Thanks to your donations and getting a little more on my first paycheck than I thought I would, I should be able to stay afloat again.

My Turn to Ask for Help

    Hello friends.

I'm trying to raise money for me and Amber Spark after we suffered an accident with a U-Haul truck. The link to the GoFundMe page is here.

Sunset's Spectacular September · 9:08pm Sep 12th, 2016

I believe I made you guys a promise. A promise that a certain story would be released in a certain month.

That promise will be kept.

The month of September is going to be Spectacular. Below the break, I'll lay down everything you need to know as we go into the final countdown for the sequel you've all patiently been waiting for!

Before we go onto the mane event, let me hype something else at you guys. If you've been following Oroboro (and if you haven't go fix that) you may have heard of his diabolical Sunset Shipping Week starting next Monday! Seven days of a one shot featuring Sunset shipped with another of the mane 6 plus a bonus one! He divulged this plan to me back at the beginning of the year, and we both can't wait to see the madness that will unfurl from it!:pinkiecrazy:

Naturally, he asked me if I wanted to contribute. I wasn't sure if I could, given with how busy I was during the first month of 2016, but it turned out to be a longer process than I expected. It gave me enough time to throw my hat into the ring with a rare one shot! The idea literally came to me in a dream.

So, next week, I also will be posting a Sunset shipping story titled Anamnesis. If you can't guess who I'm shipping Sunset with... then I'm sorry, there's no help for you.

Tune in Monday to watch the Sunset madness take hold! Oroboro is a great writer, and all his stories sound like they're going to be a real treat!

And then, when it's over...

By the time the day arrives there will be seven (haha) chapters done of Spectacular Seven. My first plan was to release all seven over the course of a week like how I ended Long Road to Friendship, but, since I'm going to be heavily concentrating on a certain other story during October and gone for November, I'm going to give you guys just the first three, and release the other four over the course of October and hope I have the eighth chapter to give out either before I go off in Nov. or when I come back in December.

Cover art is being done by Drakenichols1 and so far is looking Spectacular!

As I said before, the first part of the story is an adaptation of Rainbow Rocks (boy, am I late to that party). Adaptation being that, things will play out quite differently from the movie, being that there's four... and a half(?) characters that weren't originally there. (Human Twilight doesn't really count, right?) Anyway, I'm not bending my back to fit the story's canon into the movie. I'm fitting the movie into the story's canon (ego moment!).

That's the same thing for Moondancer. She acts almost nothing like she does in the show, but I created her character at the outset of Long Road to Friendship, and I'm not going to change her now.

So, with all that said and done, there's just one thing left. Being my first sequel, I find it a little hard to get the flow right between the transition from old to new. It's hard to find a balance between welcoming the old people back and leaving some wiggle room for new people to jump in if they want to.

That and, posting a new story is always a little scary.

So, for the first, and probably only time, I'm going to give a select number of you a chance to get a sneak peek at the first two chapters of Spectacular Seven. I guess it's a pre-reader position, but I call it more beta reading. I don't need any heavy details (unless you find something incredibly glaring) just tell me if it's flowing right, if this is a good place to start.

Just put somewhere in your comment that you'd like to beta read, and I'll PM you the links. Note: I know this going to happen, but I can't select all of you that are about to thrust your hands in the air. I'm only going to take a sample, probably first come, first serve. (Drakey, spot's open if you want it.) Also note: this is just for the first two chapters. No more.

With all that said, I hope you guys are ready! More friendship! More Sunlight! More magic! More shenanigans! More of the universe screwing with Sunset!

Projected release day: Sunday, September 25th! (Still a little tentative, it could move back, but no later than the 30th)

And now, for musical accompaniment.

Story overture.

Volume I opening.

I volunteer as tribute!

I generously offer myself for beta-ing
Rarity would be proud

I'm all for helping to beta-read, I've done it before, and it's honestly fun to help someone out and just iron out the kinks, as such. That said, this honestly looks like it's going to be a fun week. Because it involves shipping, Sunset and a lot of both. And to think that after the original EQG, people left and right thought it and Sunset were poorly written trash. While I wouldn't go quite THAT far, the original EQG, is a bit generic. Then came Rainbow Rocks. And it was epic. And Sunset went from the worst villain in the franchise to immensely popular.

ME MEMEMEMEEEMEME:fluttercry:

Don't wanna be left out, was doing hacking stuffs.

Would be more then happy to be a pre reader for you.

As much as I'd love to beta-read the next story, I know diddly about stuff like story flow and all that jazz. If I was going to do it I'd want to at least try to help improve the work. I'm the kind of guy who signs up to beta test games to see how many bugs and glitches I can find.

I wouldn't mind a sneak peek, but if there is someone more qualified to help out then feel free to give it to them. I can wait. Maybe.

I'll wait for the proper release as I am far too excited to be coherent but I was incredibly giddy reading this post at work.

I hope its as good if not better than the Long Road to Friendship.

Thanks for the plug, and I'm looking forward to seeing your finished stories!

This website will drown in the eros of Sunset Shimmer, whether it likes it or not.

Me! Me! Pic me!!!!!!!!!

Calendar marked! Been looking forward to this ^_^

I'd love to beta read this!!!

I volunteer to be part of the Sunset love! :D

I would like to beta-read, if I'm not too late. :twilightsheepish:

JMP

...I follow Oroboro and I didn't see that blog post. Welp, read it now. Good to know. I very much enjoy both Oroboro's stories (Fractured Sunlight was amazing), and your own, Albinocorn, so that will be a fun week.

If it makes you feel any better, it's going to be years before I get my Rainbow Rocks adaptation out. And I've been working on it off and on since last summer!

I would love to beta read this to get a head start in immersing myself back into the fic's universe, as well as seeing best pony/human back in full bloom.

If there are any pre-reader spots open, I would love to be included. I have hundreds of hours of reading time and I followed LRTF from the second chapter, which lead me to reading nearly every one of your stories (still working on a few). I also happen to be one of the biggest Sunset fans that I know!

As much as I'd love to beta, I'd rather savor the polished chapters slowly, one at a time. With a fine cognac Dr Pepper and fava beans Cheez-Its, and classical music Aerosmith for ambience.

Looking forward to it! :pinkiehappy:

I'd like to beta read it. I'm the guy who made the TV Tropes page for Long Road to Friendship; I have to start getting links ready. :pinkiecrazy:

I wanna beta read. Boy, this sure sounds exciting

As much as I would love to do the beta-read thing, I'll be nice and patient and not beg for a spot. I can wait for the finial version's of the chapters to be released. It's going to kill me as it is waiting on chapters since I read LRTF uninterrupted.

Wow, might as well make September Sunset month at this rate. (And Equestria Daily says September 22 is Sunset Shimmer Day apparently. Huh, never knew that, though makes sense with the Autumnal Equinox.) I'm hoping Princess Twilight shows up, something like that would be sure to screw with Sunset's life again (especially if she is still talking to that doll).

Looking forward to another Sunset marathon, I'm way more excited for this story than the pirate one (which was still good of course), as this one is a sequel (and closer to canon than the complete AU pirate). I'm tempted to try and volunteer to beta read, but 1) I'd rather read the final version, and 2) I have next to no talent so I doubt I could contribute much, except to wish you good luck and congratulations on starting what's sure to be another magnificent story. Yay Sunset! :yay:

I can't wait! I would also like a sneak peak of the beta please! I know this story will be amazing!:pinkiehappy:

Thank you to everyone who volunteered! I didn't pick everyone; like I said, it was mostly first come, first serve, but I appreciate your eagerness to help! You'll just have to wait for the final version to drop.

I... am finally killed with Sunset shipping madness. Killed by SunLight, and the others. I'm going to make a fanart on deviant art when the stories are published.

So it begins.
The sequel to one of the best stories I ever read.
Hope it's good!

>Sees Sanctuary as the main theme
>Dies happy

The hype is real, Long road to friendship was the best fanfic i've EVER read.

That's the same thing for Moondancer. She acts almost nothing like she does in the show, but I created her character at the outset of Long Road to Friendship, and I'm not going to change her now.

Just put an author's note that you started writing this series before her episode aired at the start of the story. Reasonable people will understand.
